2 TO, PRESIDENTS ALL AFRICAN KARATE FEDERATIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS, Dear all Secretariats, RE: INTERNATIONAL KARATE CLUBS CHAMPIONSHIP The Kenya Karate Federation (KKF) wishes to invite you to an international Karate Clubs Championship to be held in the coastal town of Malindi. The Championship, bringing together teams from all over the world will be held between March 25 th and March 31 st Its main objective is to promote Sports Tourism in Africa, good health and war against drug abuse. The Kenya Karate Federation (KKF) will cater for the accommodation of up to 15 members of each visiting zone 5 African teams. Participation fee for our African brothers has also been waived. It is an individual championship and World Karate Federation (WKF) rules apply. Teams from England, Scotland, Romania, Spain, Russia, Italy, France, Brazil, Poland, Australia, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia have already confirmed participation. The tournament rings will be placed on a raised platform facing the beautiful Indian Ocean. Both the players and spectators will have a chance to enjoy the cool breeze as they take part in the first event of its kind in Africa. I urge all African National Karate teams to use this opportunity as a built up to the All African Games later in August. Some of the senior most Sensei s will take part in the technical arm of the tournament. They include; Sensei Kohey Yamada, 8 th Dan Karate Do Shitoriu, from Japan; Sensei Yashio Tamura, 6 th Dan Karate Do Goju Ryu, from Japan; Sensei Silvano Panaiotti, 7 th Dan, (I.K.O), from Italy; Sensei Bon Owiti, 4 th Dan, Karate Do Shotokan, Kenya; Sensei Anderson Katana, 3 rd Dan, Kenya, and Sensei Raffaele Bernardi, 5 th Dan, Karate Do Goju Ryu, from Italy. We expect at least 2000 athletes to take part in this sports extravaganza. Only those who will have sent the full names, weight and categories of their players by February 10 will qualify to participate and for the accommodation offer. This deadline is essential for logistical success. I hope and pray that you will be able to join us in this Endeavour to improve and grow Karate in Africa.
