2 Meet the Owners of USGTC The Largest & Finest Camp Here are Some Important Reasons Why Campers, Parents, Mike and Susan Jacobson - Owners of USGTC Our greatest joy is seeing children having fun in a healthy environment, while enjoying the sport they love. Mike was a former NCAA All Around Champion and Athlete of the year. As a coach, his 1969 University of Iowa Team won the NCAA Team Championships. Mike and Susan are Professional members of USAG and members of The American Camping Association. For more than thirty-five years, children, families, coaches and club owners have benefited from the USGTC camp experience. Mount Holyoke College, S.Hadley MA Mount Holyoke College, is considered by many as the most beautiful private small college in the U.S. It s an immaculate private setting with bass lakes, waterfalls, wild ducks and geese. Rolling manicured hills and lawns compliment our gymnastics program. The athletic facilities, and dorms are the best! Located in Western Massachusetts, in the sleepy little town of South Hadley. This was really my only camp experience and in many ways helped shape my life. It also was an absolute blast. I was a very motivated young gymnast with tremendous desire, but little "know how", on how to accomplish my goals and fulfill my dreams. USGTC exposed me to top national and international gymnasts who I trained with, learned from, and emulated. Before I attended USGTC, I knew I wanted to go the Olympics and win Gold, but I had no idea how to get there! USGTC gave me my "road map" on making it happen. On the personal side, some of my fondest memories of childhood include my camp days. I learned so much, made so many life long friends, and truly loved each and every day at USGTC. That's why my son Peter, has followed in my footsteps and each year begs for not one week dad but two...please! - Tim Daggett Teodora and I have attended USGTC since We not only found that it s one of the greatest gymnastics facilities in the world, but that all the children, parents, medical staff, and the best coaches in the country are like one big family. USGTC is truly our favorite time of the year. Multi Million Dollar Air Conditioned Recreation Center The Largest Gymnastic Camp Gym in the World (47,000 sq. ft.) Our sports complex houses our Olympic size pool, state of the art weight room, 10,000 sq. ft. Dance gym, locker rooms, and our athletic training and nurse s station. Gymnastics for Boys and Girls of All Ages and Abilities We offer all Olympic event classes! Each day we have five classes plus two one-hour open workouts. Girls also have a dance class every day! Only eight campers per coach!! Former Olympians at each session Our Olympians work with beginners as well as advanced gymnasts. More Required Daily Gymnastics Classes than Any Other Camp! Eligibility & Gymnastics Experience Any boy or girl who has reached the age of eight by the first day of camp. No previous experience is required. Nurses & Athletic Trainers Our two nurses and athletic trainers live in the dorms and are available around the clock! Background Checks, State and Local Camp Requirements Background checks and references are required for all USGTC staff. This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health. Parents may request copies of background check, health care and discipline policies as well as procedures for filing grievances. USGTC SECURITY AND SAFETY USGTC staff, and our MHC professional friendly security personnel, care for us 24 hours a day. Incomparable Dorm Living With Lots of Room! No overcrowded cabins or separate buildings for bathroom and showers. USGTC has dorms with two or three children per room. Bathroom facilities on each floor. Children select their own roomates. Luxurious compared to all other all camps! Campers are monitored to and from all activities. Owners, athletic trainers and nurses live in the dorms are available 24 hours a day! Phones in every dorm. Dorm directors. Adult staff on each floor. Lock down security in each dorm. Laundry facilities in each dorm. Bathrooms and showers on every dorm floor. Spring bed frames, bureaus, desks, chairs and closets in every camper room. Dorm Food Not one but three professional dining halls located in our dorms. No long lines!!! A healthy variety of food at every meal. Specially designed menu for the growing athlete. Much of our food is produced by local farms. Special attention to children with allergies and special food requirements. Please call us for such special needs. Staff We employ over sixty-five staff members that share the responsibility of dorm duty, coaching and monitoring your child when he or she goes to and from all our activities. 4 The World s Largest Gy No Other Camp Our Unique Gymnastics Program A camper has five forty minute required classes each day, and two open workouts that are optional. Some days we recommend that children scale down their training, due to sore muscles and hot hands. Five Areas of Concentration Every gymnast has the opportunity to have five forty minute classes and two one hour open workouts each day! Daily Olympic event classes, including trampoline and tumbling track. Daily dance classes for girls. Meaningful non-pressure gymnastics contest. Age group contest so that everyone can get into the fun and win trophies, plaques, medals, ribbons, and points for their Color War team. At times, it is important for a gymnast to scale down their daily training. We realize that a camper s ability level, state of physical condition, hot hands and sore muscles, can affect a camper s performance. I have been involved with USGTC Summer camp for over 10 years. I look forward to camp each summer. From the great facilities to the excellent staff, USGTC is for any gymnast, from beginner to elite. Each and every child is made to feel special, and gets quality gymnastics instruction no matter what level they are. My brother started going to camp at nine years old, and absolutely loved it! It has helped give him the opportunity to learn new skills, and meet new friends, many of whom he keeps in touch with during the year. Its great to see the familiar faces of campers coming back year after year. Kristie Bosworth Each Summer USGTC Replaces all Equipment, We Don t Play Favorites at USGTC! Our Olympians and other elite coaches work with all ages and ability levels! Gymnastics Testing Program Our unique gymnastics testing program is designed for a child s individual ability on each of the Olympic events. Campers are placed into groups by size and ability. A camper, who is more advanced on a specific gymnastics event, can move up to the next ability level on that event. At least 50% of USGTC campers are beginners, but we also have some very advanced gymnasts! We have staff that are capable of spotting any skill done in World competition! USGTC does it all!!!! We provide instruction for all USA Gymnastics levels (1-5). We also provide instruction for the higher level gymnasts. It s All for Sale (561) A Typical Gymnastics Day at USGTC Campers have the Opportunity to work all the Olympic events each day! 7:00 a.m. Wake up to an exciting USGTC camp day 7:15-8:00 Breakfast 8:25-10:40 Morning required warm up and classes 10:30-11:00 Fun optional gymnastics contests for campers and staff 11:00-12:00 Open workout, swimming and outdoor color war games and contests. 12:00-2:00 Lunch, relaxation and recreation 2:15-3:35 Warm up and required classes 3:15-3:45 Fun optional gymnastics contests for campers and staff 3:45-5:00 Open workout, swim, color war games and contests. 5:15 Dinner 7:00-9:00 Color War activities and recreation in our spectacular entertainment facility! A Combination of Hard Work and Lots of Fun Daily gymnastics classes on the Olympic events concentrating on flexibility, strength, and mental preparation. Two open workouts a day. Daily dance classes for girls, which emphasize the necessary disciplines for gymnastics. Demonstrations by our elite staff and campers. Optional fun gymnastics contests. Everyone gets a chance to compete and have fun. Special coaching from Olympic Champion, Laurie Henandez Just a note to thank you for running such a professional camp and taking care of Karen. 6 Dorm Living at its Best No Overcrowded Cabins at USGTC No Overcrowded Cabins! We have spacious dorm room living. Only 2 or 3 campers per room! Dorm living at its best! No other camp can compare! Housing Other camps only dream about housing like ours. Best in the U.S. Parents feel that we have luxurious living accommodations compared to other camps. Each dorm room is extremely large, with closets and bureaus. Each floor has its own camp phone, bathrooms and showers. Each dorm has its own lounge and laundry facilities. Youth Dorm Ages 8-9 Our younger campers live on a special floor and enjoy the same gymnastics and other activities as our older campers. They have an earlier bed time-9:30. We select a special staff to be with our younger children. Counselors There are at least two counselors on each floor. Our counselors have small group floor meetings every evening with our campers. Roommates Most campers come with a friend. Our campers choose their own roommates. We recommend two to a room, three maximum. USGTC will assign a roommate to any single camper. Teams We have teams attend USGTC. In most cases, we can arrange to have all members of a team (same approximate age) on the same dorm floor, or ajoining floors. Box 4088, Tequesta, FL, ROOMMATE POLICIES - Meeting new friends is an important part of the USGTC experience We accommodate 2 or 3 campers per room. Younger campers age 8 and 9 must live on a youth loor. Older campers can live with a younger camper but must be on the youth loor with no more than a two-year age difference. Teams: We do our best to place teammates(age appropriate) on the same loor and /or Dorm We cannot guarantee all requests. We accept individuals, groups and teams. Written notice of cancellation is needed by April 30. You will be refunded your deposit less $75.00 processing fee. After April 30, registration deposit fee is not refundable or transferable; this includes cancellation for medical or athletic injuries. Written cancellation postmarked 30 days prior to 1st camp day; you will receive session fee less the deposit. Cancellation within 30 days of irst camp day - No refunds No refunds will be made to campers who withdraw at any time after arriving at camp. A child is subject to leaving camp, if their conduct adversely affects USGTC, or other campers. No refunds given Camp Tuition Insurance Many times the fun and excitement of camp is interrupted by unfortunate circumstances such as a family emergency or sickness, bags are lost or stolen or you may need to cancel due to other unforeseen circumstances. In Lieu of a medical certi icate signed by a medical doctor, I have no knowledge of any medical or mental impairment or use of drugs that will prohibit or impair my child in any way from participating in the USGTC program.
