STATUS AS AT 30 APRIL The attached statement shows the status of contributions and advances to the Working Capital Fund as at 30 April , WORKING CAPITAL FUND. Two active Members still owed all or part of their advances to the Working Capital Fund. Advances received from active Members amounted to $2,842,133, or 98% of the amount due from the active Members. З. ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS. The collection of contributions from active Members in respect to the 1953 assessments was 25.3% of the amount assessed on those Members. The percentage of collections in respect to the 1952 assessments from active Members at 30 April 1952 was 16.8 %, indicating an improvement in the collection of contributions. II. Arrears of Contributions inclusive 1. The Executive Board at its eleventh session requested the Director- Gene±'аl to forward to the Sixth World Health Assembly a report on any Members Wn ose assessments for 1948, 1949, 1950 and 1951 had not been paid at that time.1 On 6 March 1953 the Director -General despatched a communication to the governments concerned to advise him when payment could be expected in order that he might present the latest information on this matter to the Assembly, 1 Resolution EB11.R31, Оff.Rec.World 11th Org. 46

Active Members 2.1 Argentina Advance to the Working Capital Fund.....e $ 55, , e......e 88, а о,3Г33.оо ,3 7 1в00 $462,516.б4 The Director- General reported to the Executive Board at its eleventh session that he had been advised that the Economic Council of Argentina had approved immediate payment of the assessments through The Government gave instructions through their bankers in Argentina to a bank in Geneva to pay Vи0 the equivalent of $304,599 in Swiss francs. As Argentina has no clearing agreement with the Swiss Government, the Office Suisse de Compensation is unable to authorize this payment. The Director -General is at present in communication with the Argentine Government. 2.2 Bolivia Advance to the Working Capital Fund л. $ 2,384 5, в ,917 $ 14,171 No reply has been received to the Director -Generals communication of 6 March as to when payment could be expected. 2.3 Cuba 1951 (Balance due) , $ 10,548 The above sum represents the balance due for A communication received in January stated that the necessary measures were being taken to pay this amount and the 1952 assessment.

А6/34 page Ecuador 1950 (Balance) '..... в в. в.... $ 2, , $ 6, Since 1 January Ecuador has paid the balance of its 1949 assessment, its advance to the Working Capital Fund and part of its 1950 assessment, and has further promised to pay the balance during the first half of Iran 1951 (Balance) $ 6,216 A payment was recently received covering the balance due for 1950 and the greater portion of Payment of the balance due for 1951 is expected. 2.6 Paraguay e $ 2,959 As yet no reply has been received to the Director -General's communication of 6 March as to when payment could be expected. 2.7 Peru 1950 (Balance) $ 2, ,202 16,413 As yet no reply has been received to the Director-General's communication of 6 March as to when payment could be expected. 2.8 Spain $77,265 Payment of the advance to the Working Capital Fund was recently received; at the same time the Organization was informed that the necessary arrangements were being made to pay the amount due for 1951.

Inactive Members 3.1 No communications have been received from the States of Albania, Bulgaria, Byélorussia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Roumania, Ukrainian SSR and USSR. 3.2 China Document A6 /21 relates to the question of the arrears of China. 4. Non- Members 4.1 Colombia в... r. $ 7,504 This amount represents Colombia's share of the expenses of the Interim Commission of the Organization which will be due and payable when Colombia becomes a Member of WHO.
