ОANIZATION ORGANISATION MONDIALE DE LA SANTÉ A36/9 3 May 1983 THIRTY SIXTH WORLD HEALTH ASSEMBLY Agenda item 24.2 STATUS OF COLLECTION OF ASSESSED CONTRIBUTIONS AND STATUS OF ADVANCES TO THE WORKING CAPITAL FUND Report by the Director General This report is presented to assist the Health Assembly in reviewing the financial position of the Organization. 1. The attached statement shows the status of collection of assessed contributions and the status of advances to the Working Capital Fund as at 30 April As required by resolution WHA16.20, the Director General is submitting a separate report concerning those subject to the provisions of paragraph 2 of resolution WHA Collection of contributions, 1983 assessments (part 2, pages 2 and 3 of the attached statement) Collections of contributions payable in 1983 in respect of the effective working budget amount to US$ or 41.73% of the assessments on the concerned. The corresponding percentages of collections for 1981 and 1982 were 28.43% and 28.57% respectively. 3. Status of advances to the Working Capital Fund (part 3, pages 4 and,5) Part 3, on pages 4 and 5 of the attached statement, shows the status of advances to the Working Capital Fund. One hundred and thirty nine and Associate have paid their advances to the Working Capital Fund in full. Among that have not paid their advances to the Working Capital Fund either in part or in full are the two inactive (Byelorussian SSR and Ukrainian SSR) and South Africa, which on 27 July 1966 notified the Director General that it did not intend to pay its contributions to WHO while it was precluded from exercising its full rights as a Member of the Organization.1 4. CALLS THE ATTENTION of to the importance of paying their annual instalments as early as possible in the year in which they are due, in order that the approved programme can be carried out as planned; 3. URGES in arrears to make special efforts to liquidate their arrears during 1983; 4. REQUESTS the Director General to communicate this resolution to in arrears and to draw their attention to the fact that continued delay in payment could have serious financial implications for the Organization.
