A copy of the installation instruction shall be available at the jobsite at all times during installation. Where conflicts occur, the more restrictive shall govern. 2.2 Adjustment Factors for conditions noted in Section 3.2 of this report and applicable codes shall be considered and applied to allowable loads. 2.3 All fasteners and connected wood members shall comply with Sections and of this report. 2.4 Use of connector products and fasteners in contact with fire-retardant-treated or preservative-treated lumber shall comply with Section of the 2009 IBC or Section R317.3 of the 2009 IRC (2006 IRC Section R319.3), as applicable. The report holder or lumber treater shall be contacted for recommendations on minimum corrosion resistance and connection capacities of fasteners used with the specific proprietary preservative-treated or fireretardant treated lumber. 2.5 Prior to product installation, calculations and details demonstrating compliance with this report shall be submitted to the code official. The calculations and details shall be prepared by a registered design professional where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project is to be constructed. Design loads shall be less than the allowable loads as indicated in Tables 1 through 10 of this report. 2.6 Periodic special inspection shall be: 1. Conducted when the ITW Construction Hardware products are components within the main windforce-resisting system of structures constructed in areas listed in Section of the 2012 IBC (Section of the 2009 IBC and Section of the 2006 IBC). Special inspection requirements do not apply to structures, or portions thereof, that qualify for exception under the 2012 IBC Sections , , or (2009 IBC Sections , , or and Sections and of the 2006 IBC). 2. Conducted in accordance with the applicable 2012 IBC Section and 2009 and 2006 IBC Section 1707 when the product series are components within the seismic-force-resisting system of structures constructed in Seismic Design Category C, D, E or F. Special inspection requirements do not apply to structures, or portions thereof, that qualify for exception under 2012 IBC Sections , , , or (2009 IBC Sections , , , or ). 3. Optional and is not normally required for installations under the IRC. However, for an engineered design where calculations are required to be signed by a registered design professional, periodic special inspection requirements and exemptions are as stated in Sections and 5.5.2, as applicable, for installations under the IRC. 3.0 PRODUCT USE 3.1 General: ITW Hardware Hangers and Anchors are used for connecting wood members together in accordance with Section of the IBC. Products may be used in structures regulated under the IRC when a design is submitted in accordance with Section R of the IRC. 3.2 Design: Products are designed for use in dry conditions in wood with a maximum moisture content of 19 percent (16 percent for engineered wood products), and where sustained temperatures do not exceed 100 F (37.8 C). Reductions may be required for wet service installations or sustained temperatures over 100 F (37.8 C). The product described in this Uniform Evaluation Service (UES) Report has been evaluated as an alternative material, design or method of construction in order to satisfy and comply with the intent of the provision of the code, as noted in this report, and for at least equivalence to that prescribed in the code in quality, strength, effectiveness, fire resistance, durability and safely, as applicable, in accordance with IBC Section This document shall only be reproduced in its entirety.
