The MoU enables close collaboration on area development, exploitation of possibilities around the major stadia in Delhi, development, maintenance and usage of de-central sports facilities. Both the Ministers decided to intensify the exchange of knowledge and experience between India and the Netherlands on the issues such as sports management, competition infrastructure setup and top-sport development through youth academies. The same day India Netherlands Business Association, the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Sports Authority of India jointly organized Indo-Dutch meet on public-private cooperation on Multipurpose Sports infrastructure and area development. SAI Opens its facilities to the Public Sports Authority of India has launched the Community Connect S c h e m e a t J L N Stadium, I G Sports Complex and the SPM Swimming Complex. It was inaugurated by Sh. Jitendra Singh, Hon'ble MOS (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports. The Community Connect Scheme envisages the use of various SAI Stadia for sports and recreational activities. It visualizes increased participation of the community by offering them multiple choices of both indoor and outdoor recreational and sports facilities. They will be instrumental in making stadia a hub of sports and fitness activities. In addition to the existing sports facilities, SAI is launching Walking/Jogging Track, Cycling Track, Volleyball Courts, Cricket Nets, Billiards & Snooker, Fitness Centres, Aerobics, Yoga, Skating, Swimming Pools, Squash Courts, Chess Rooms, Bridge Rooms, Carrom etc.

We were placed 2nd in the CWG, Delhi-2010 and 6th in the Asiad, Guangzhou It would be difficult for us to regain the 2nd position in CWG as the Commonwealth Games Federation has deleted a number of disciplines where India won last time we are losing some 36 medals straightaway. Nevertheless, our athletes, participating in 13 disciplines are expected to bring the country honors. I have been watching our young athletes undergoing strenuous training in various Centers under the watchful eyes of their coaches. Years of training and hard work! All these hardships are all for what? Just to perform in less than TEN SECONDS! Unless a sprinter can brace the tape within ten seconds in a 100m dash, he or she doesn t stand a chance to stand on the Olympic podium! Eventually, whenever an Indian Athlete stands on the podium and the national anthem is sung, with tears in our eyes we will exult in joy! A defining moment! This is the moment when all your efforts and hard work will be rewarded. As an athlete, this is the defining moment you have been dreaming; as a mere sports lover, this is the moment we are dying to see! Please remember this defining moment will not come on its own. You don t reach it by sheer luck. You need to work tirelessly for it. A never ending, unceasing struggle till you reach there! The meeting was convened after a gap of 16 years. Following major decisions were taken: Ø Reconstitution of the General Body and Governing Body of SAI and authorization to Chairman, SAI to exercise its powers when the General Body is not meeting. Ø Approval for issuance of offer of appointment of topper(s) in Diploma Course in Sports Coaching offered by SAI NSNIS, Patiala and LNCPE, Thiruvananthapuram, as Assistant Coaches in SAI. Ø Amendment in qualifications/eligibility Criteria for admission to Diploma Course in Sports Coaching at NSNIS, Patiala and LNCPE, Thiruvananthapuram. Ø Ratification of annual reports and audited accounts of SAI and authorization to the Governing Body/Chairman to approve the annual reports, Audited Accounts and audit report thereon. Awards & Recognition Ø Dr. G.Kishore, Principal LNCPE and Director SAI Kerala Region was honoured by the International Business Council, New Delhi by conferring on him the Indira Gandhi Excellence Award for his distinguished contribution in the field of Physical Education and Sports.
