Individual Testing Stations Change to NO-GO criteria. o Three total NO-GOs/retests allowed (Still must pass all 30 stations). o Only one NO-GO/retest allowed per lane. New Task List Standardize the 30 tasks across the Army. Some units previously chose the easier tasks and some chose the more difficult ones. Update tasks with the latest changes in doctrine/supporting references. Clarify confusing/ambiguous standards. Many tasks were open to interpretation, leaving some units to make a particular task harder, while other units would opt for an easier version. Weapons Lane Some simple/short tasks were combined with others; many units were already using one set of graders for these stations. If a Candidate passes Part 1 and fails Part 2, they only have to retest Part 2. All units will test on all weapons. Ensure to plan and resource accordingly. 1. M4 Carbine/M16 Rifle & M320/M203 Grenade Launcher The rifle/carbine portion is simply performing immediate action. SPORTS has been changed. The assembly/disassembly/functions check portion has replaced OBJ Bull as the Final Event. Part two is the M320/M203; unit choice. Station requirements: M16/M4, magazine, blank adapter, four rounds of blank ammunition, one round of inert/expended blank ammunition; M320/M203 mounted on M16/M4 or stand-alone M320, and one round 40mm

2 training ammunition. A target. If the EIB uniform does not include a grenade pouch, the station should provide appropriate load bearing equipment to properly secure the grenade. 2. M9 Pistol & M500 Shotgun No significant changes to either weapon system; added 30 seconds to shotgun time standard. M9/M17/M18 preferred but a Glock or other Army-approved pistol allowed. o Candidate will follow the procedures in that weapon s TM for the major tasks. M500 preferred but a Remington or other Army-approved shotgun allowed. o Candidate will follow the procedures in that weapon s TM for the major tasks. Station requirements: Simulated casualty in MOPP level 3 with all extremities, in full combat uniform to include weapon and complete IFAK. Field dressing or emergency bandage. MOPP level three for the Candidate to wear. 9. Abdominal Wound & Eye Injuries No significant change to abdominal wound but added a variety of eye injuries for the unit to choose from. Station requirements: A simulated casualty; either an actual Soldier or mannequin (with all extremities). The casualty must have a clearly visible simulated abdominal wound (with simulated organs or intestines outside the body) and an eye injury (Grader will select one of the eye injury options), and be in a full combat uniform, including weapon and a fully packed IFAK. A CLS bag including all appropriate bandages, dressings, and materials needed to improvise if required. 10. Fracture & Burn This task combines two simple/short tasks. No significant changes to either task, but the new task provides additional options for splints, slings, and swathes for the unit to choose from. Station Requirements: A simulated casualty; either an actual Soldier or mannequin (with all extremities). The casualty must have a clearly visible simulated fracture to an extremity and a burn injury. CLS bag including all bandages/dressings/splints/materials needed to improvise if required. All Candidates must be provided the same splint/sling/swathe supplies; the Graders can provide all options or select one. Patrol Lane Significant changes to this lane. Ensure to plan and resource accordingly. Some tasks have been combined, changed, or created. 1. Indirect Fire Previous task was not realistic and did not accurately judge an Expert Infantryman s ability to call for fire in a real world scenario. Removed sand table; Candidate will perform this task by looking through binoculars and talking on the radio. The target will be 50 meters away, scaled to size based on desired distance. Grader will stand at round impact locations so the Candidate can adjust fire. Key tasks: Three time standards. o Transmit call for fire. Candidate must estimate range and direction to target, then plot target location accurately based on the Candidate s known position. o Adjust fire using two-six corrections. Candidate will use binoculars to accurately bracket rounds based on where the grader stands. Grader will move according to Candidate s actual corrections based on the target scale. o Fire for effect. Station requirements: A protractor, military map with the correct declination diagram, and compass. Mil-reticle binoculars or other magnified optical device with mil markings and a stable platform to view the target. Two operational radios, powered on, with operational frequencies programmed. Laminated paper, superfine point alcohol, and a basic calculator. Target at 50 meters sized to scale based on scenario distance. 2. Move under Direct Fire

5 Station requirements: Magazine of blank ammunition and sling. Pneumatic gun or OPFOR firing blank rounds. 100 meter route incorporating natural and man-made obstacles that allow the Candidate to incorporate all movement techniques. 3. Tactical Handheld Radio This task may be performed with MBITERs or other tactical handheld radios that meet the requirements. The performance measures have been left simple to allow for differences in equipment but several ATN references are listed. Key tasks: Assemble, load, and program a radio, then perform a radio check. Candidate receives a GO if they are able to properly conduct a radio check. Station requirements: One SOI. Two operational, tactical handheld radios with a DAGR and all other necessary BII. A SKL with all necessary BII, loaded with four weeks of training COMSEC. 4. DAGR An Expert Infantryman should know how to operate a DAGR in today s EW-contested operating environment. o Key tasks: Load crypto, program settings, create waypoints and a route, and operate when signals are weak. Station requirements: SOI. One DAGR with all necessary BII and crypto fill cable. A SKL with all necessary BII and loaded with two months of training crypto. 5. Camouflage & Visual Signaling Combined two tasks with no significant changes. o Camouflage. o Visual signaling techniques. Station requirements: Camouflage materials and resources. Unit selects 15 hand and arms signals to test. 6. Range Card Station requirements: A calibrated compass, protractor, and complete military map with either the gun position plotted, or an easily identifiable known reference point. Tripod-mounted machine gun with a traversing and elevation (T&E) mechanism and sector stakes. Binoculars or a magnified optical device mounted on the machine gun. Laminated range card and superfine point alcohol pens. Graders must know accurate distances/positions of targets. 7. Chemical/Biological Operations Combined protective mask and decontaminate events with no significant changes. o Assume MOPP level three. This has a sub-time standard of don/clear/seal the mask within nine seconds (no change). o Assume MOPP level four and decontaminate. Station requirements: Candidate s own functional, properly maintained mask with mask hood if the hood is not integrated in the joint-service lightweight integrated suit technology (JSLIST). Properly fitted JSLIST coat, trousers, over-boots, and gloves for the Candidate to wear. Training decontamination lotion and wipes/mitts or simulated materials. Poncho or overhead cover. 8. Resection & Military Maps This task combines several previous tasks into one event with no significant changes. Key tasks: Three time standards. o Resection. o Identify terrain features, colors, and contour lines. o Identify topographic symbols. Station requirements: A protractor, straight edge, calibrated compass, and military map(s) (use as many maps as required to ensure all terrain features are represented). Laminated paper and superfine point alcohol pens. Two prominent terrain features or two targets clearly plotted on a map. 9. Claymore No significant changes, but the new task incorporates a more tactical scenario. Added an option for non-electric initiation.

6 o Emplace and fire. o Recover. Station requirements: A training Claymore mine/munition with all BII. One wooden stake in the ground or a fixed object at the observation position and one at the mine location. Sandbags, trees, or holes in the ground for Candidate to use to test the electric initiator. A ground level target for the Candidate to aim at in front of the mine emplacement location. 10. Spot Report & Tactical Man Pack Radio Removal of sand table (similar to adjust fire task) for SPOTREP portion to enhance realism. Target will be scaled appropriately or at actual distance if the EIB site allows it. o Assemble, load, program, and conduct a radio check on a tactical man-pack or vehicle-mounted radio. Candidate receives a GO if they can properly conduct a LOS radio check on the prescribed frequency. o Send SPOTREP. Candidate must estimate range based on scaled target size or actual distance to determine accurate target location. Candidate receives a GO if they can properly send the correct information. Station requirements: A calibrated compass and mil-reticle binoculars or other magnified optical device with mil markings and a stable platform to view the target. A protractor, military map with the correct declination diagram, and a blank piece of laminated paper with alcohol pens. SOI, one tactical man-pack or vehicle mounted radio, and a tactical radio for the Grader. All necessary BII for LOS communications. A SKL with training COMSEC. An enemy scenario/target at actual distance or scaled appropriately. Final Event This task replaces OBJ Bull and is not retestable. It was formerly part of the M4/M16 task. o Clear and disassemble. o Assemble and perform a functions check. Station requirements: Adequate Graders to ensure Candidates flow directly into their task following completion of the Foot March with no rest period. One poncho or other material per station for the Candidates to test on that will prevent the Candidate from losing parts. Scales to weight rucksacks. Adequate site layout based on the number of Candidates to ensure integrity.
