1 Preparation form INHolland Sport, Health and Exercise Target: children in the age of 6 to 12 years. Main objective: Arrange a sports lesson to teach the children the basics of the sport basketball, which provide safety. Starting situation: Sensomotoric: The children are able to throw and catch a ball. Conditional/structural: The children are in the age of 6 to 12 years so they have a lot of energy. Cognitive: The children understand the idea of basketball and are able to follow my adjustments. Social emotional: The children know their class mates well and are able to help each other. Objective: Sensomotoric: The children have to score a point by playing a basketball game, trough catching and throwing. Conditional/structural: The children are able to reach the basket by making quick passes. Cognitive: The children are able to process my explanation to an exercise. Social emotional: The children respect each other and are able to deal with winning and losing. Phasing in time: - introduction - core - closure Introduction Core Subject matter: I will start the lesson with a warming-up; - Running around the field (2 rounds) - The children are still running while doing; - arms swinging (front / rear) - knee lifting - heels buttocks - lateral - Walking around the field (1 round) After the warming-up the children come together and have to sit one the white line on the ground. Now I will explain the meaning of the lesson; I divided the group in two circles. One child start in the middle with a ball in his hands. This child throws the ball with a bounce on the ground to the child in front of him. The child in the circle throws the ball with a bounce on the ground back to the child in the middle. Through this way all the children in the circle gets the ball. If all the children has had the ball the group have to sit on the ground. This can also be played with throwing or rolling the ball. To make a competition of it the children have to be fast. The group who sits on the ground the first wins. The group is divided in two. Both are standing in front of the basket. The children have to score a point by dribbling with the ball. Before they start I will give an example to the children. The group who scores the most wins. Game 3: The children are going to work together in groups of 1 by 1. They have to dribble with the ball two steps forward. Then pass the ball with a bounce on the ground to your teammate. Your teammate does the same and throws the ball back. Repeat this until you reach the basket and try to score. If this is going well the children can do it faster.

2 Game 4: The children are going to play a competition of basketball. If the group is too big for two teams then make more teams. Then changes teams every 2 scores. During all the games I will be standing at the side to help, give compliments to the children and provide safety Closure Evaluating the lesson with the children. Expected faults: Didactic methods: F: The children are throwing to hard. S: Make a competition of it. They have to concentrate to throw in a proper way. F: Not every child gets the ball. S: Every child have to touch the ball before there are able to score. Working methods: Instruction explain the meaning and rules of the game. There will be an example to show the children how they have to execute it. Example form After this the children are going to do it their selves. Assignment During the lesson the teacher will be walking around. Observation. The children will be coached by the teacher. Coaching. The lesson will be started with telling the subject and main goal of this lesson. After that there will be an explanation and example of the game or exercise. Through this way it will be clear for the children what they have to do. During the lesson the teacher will be looking after that the children will know the meaning of the game or exercise. Besides that there will be also looking after that the kids are having fun. At the end of the lesson the children come together for evaluating. After this everything will be clean up together. Main objective: At the end of the lessons the children are able to move with a basketball and score points by passing to their teammates. Starting situation: Sensomotoric: The children are able to throw and catch a ball. Conditional/structural: The condition of the children is good enough to participate the whole lesson. Cognitive: The children understand the idea of basketball and are able to follow my adjustments. Social emotional: The children are able to work together and score points. Objective: Sensomotoric: By fast throwing and catching the children are able to get close to the basket for scoring a point. Conditional/structural: By making short sprints the children are able to walk free and work together with their teammates. Through this way they can make it to the other basket and score. Cognitive: The children are able to process my explanation to an exercise. Social emotional: The children respect each other and are able to deal with winning and losing. The first child dribbles along the pawns. At the last pawn he throws the ball with a bounce on the ground to the other child at the last pawn. After throwing the child runs after his ball and stays at the pawn. The child who catches the ball tries to score and ran s with the ball back to the line. When everybody has thrown the group has to sit on the ground. If this is going well you can make a competition of it. The team who scores the most points wins. The teams are going to play a game to each other. During the game the children have to score by using the learned techniques. Dribbling is only allowed at your own half of the field. On the other half you have to pass to your teammates. Before scoring the children have to pass the ball at least two times. During all the games I will be standing at the side to help, give compliments to the children and provide safety Closure Evaluating the lesson with the children.

5 Expected faults: Didactic methods: F: The children are throwing to hard. S: Make a competition of it. They have to concentrate to throw in a proper way. F: Not every child gets the ball. S: Every child have to touch the ball before their able to score. F: The children are not using the right techniques. S: I will give examples and teach them the right way. Working methods: Instruction explain the meaning and rules of the game. There will be an example to show the children how they have to execute it. Example form After this the children are going to do it their selves. Assignment During the lesson the teacher will be walking around. Observation. The children will be coached by the teacher. Coaching. The lesson will be started with telling the subject and main goal of this lesson. After that there will be an explanation and example of the game or exercise. On the other half of the field they have to pass the ball to their teammates. At the end of the lesson the children come together for evaluating. After this everything will be clean up together. Starting situation: Sensomotoric: The children are able to throw and catch a ball. Conditional/structural: The children are conditionally able to sustain a training of 90 minutes. Cognitive: The children understand the idea of basketball and are able to follow my adjustments. Social emotional: The children know each other and are able to work together. Objective: Sensomotoric: The children have enough technical skills with the ball to do the exercises. Conditional/structural: The children are able to dribble with the ball while running. Cognitive: The children are able to process my explanation to an exercise. Social emotional: The children respect each other and are able to deal with winning and losing. Phasing in time: - introduction - core - closure Introduction Core Subject matter: I will start the lesson with a warming-up; - Running around the field (2 rounds) - The children are still running while doing; - arms swinging (front / rear) - knee lifting - heels buttocks - lateral - sprint - jumping with one arm in the air (switch arms every jump) - walking backwards After the warming-up the children come together and have to sit in the middle of the field on the ground. Now I will explain the meaning of the lesson; The boys are standing in line in front of the basket and the girls are standing in front of the other basket. They have to try to score ten times. The group who reaches ten times first wins. Variation: The group has to throw from the side of the basket. The group is divided in two. Both are standing on a side of the field. They have to dribble up to the pawn and throw the ball to the child at the next pawn. That child should dribble de rest of the pawns and tries to score in the basket. Game 3: The children are going to work together in groups of 1 by 1. They have to dribble with the ball two steps forward. Then pass the ball with a bounce on the ground to your teammate. Your teammate does the same and throws

They have to dribble up to the pawn and dribble back. First with their right hand and then with their left hand. Game 1.1: If this is going well I will put down more pawns. After that they have to zigzag between the pawns. At the last pawn they have to come back straight while dribbling. The children are going to practice back- and forward dribbling. First there are going to practice alone. Game 2.1: Now the children are going to practice with an attacker who is trying to steal the ball. The child with the ball tries to defend his ball by dribbling back- and forward. Game 3: The children are going to play a competition of basketball. If the group is too big for two teams then make more teams. Then change teams every 2 scores.

10 Closure Evaluating the lesson with the children. Expected faults: Didactic methods: F: The children are throwing to hard. S: Make a competition of it. They have to concentrate to throw in a proper way. F: Not every child gets the ball. S: Every child has to touch the ball before there are able to score. F: The children are using the wrong technic. S: I will show them again the wright technic until they do it wright. Working methods: Instruction explain the meaning and rules of the game. There will be an example to show the children how they have to execute it. Example form After this the children are going to do it their selves. Assignment During the lesson the teacher will be walking around. Observation. The children will be coached by the teacher. Coaching.
