In the six Big 12 games that Griffin started, OU averaged a +4.3 rebound margin opposed to the -5.1 margin recorded in the first 10 games she did not start. Ellenberg Sparking Beyond the Arc The freshman is close to setting more Sooner records with her brilliant shooting this season. Ellenberg already has OU freshman records for 3-point makes and attempts, and the best single-season 3-point percentage overall for anyone with more than two made per game. Her 85 3-pointers made ranks fourth at OU and her 204 attempts is fifth. Her point percentage would be sixth best if the season ended today. Robinson Thrice Big 12 Player of the Week The preseason All-American was the year s first Big 12 POW after a season-opening win at Milwaukee. Robinson earned a No. 2 after averaging 25 points and five steals in nail-biting victories over Kansas State (Jan. 12) and Texas in overtime (Jan. 16). The third came after explosive second halves in a loss to Texas A&M (Jan. 26) and win at Oklahoma State (Jan. 29). Ellenberg a 4-Time Big 12 Frosh of the Week After pouring in a career-high 34 points in a loss at then-no. 6 Ohio State, Aaryn Ellenberg was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Dec. 7. She earned the honor during the season three more times, including the final week, when she led the Sooners in scoring over their last two regular season games. Vegas Hits the Jackpot Aaryn Ellenberg, of Las Vegas, set a Sooner record by making at least two 3-pointers each of OU s first nine games. The streak ended Dec. 12 against New Mexico when she hit only 1-of-3 field goals from beyond the arc. Carin Stites had eight straight games with two or more 3 s during the season. Ellenberg Rolls Doubles Aaryn Ellenberg s nine-game double-figure scoring streak, that ended with a 5-point game against New Mexico, matched the third longest on record for a Sooner s start of a career. Molly McGuire ( ) started with nine games and Barbara Johnson ( ) started with 17 games of double-digit scoring. Courtney Paris ( ) scored 10 or more points in the first 120 games of her career, an NCAA record. Three is a Lonely Number Oklahoma s three consecutive games winning while shooting under 33 percent (Kansas State, at Texas, Texas Tech) was the program s worst three-game shooting streak, win or lose, since it had six-game losing streak in making less than one-third of its shots.

Sharane Campbell (Spencer, Okla.), DaShawn Harden (Olathe, Kan.), Kaylon Williams (Midwest City, Okla.) and Katherine Zander (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) filed National Letters of Intent with the University of Oklahoma. These four players are very talented young athletes who individually and collectively have a very high ceiling, Coale said. They are players who welcome the expectations that come with competing in an Oklahoma uniform, and they are each incredibly driven to continue and build upon the traditions of our program. Measuring stick When OU hosted the Basketball Travelers Invitational last week, 6-foot-6 Nicole Griffin met her match as GWU s 6-6 center Sandra Vaitkute and UTPA s 6-7 post Madison Absher stepped on the floor. The trio represented part of 29 women s college basketball players who stand 6-6 or taller (according to opening day rosters). Later this year, the Sooners will also meet up against Baylor s Britney Griner (6-8), Iowa State s Anna Prins(6-7), and Oklahoma State s Vicky McIntyre (6-6).
