(Vaden HS/ Solano CC) 5 UTAH STATE: Had a very good spring... Has quick feet and a lot of confidence... Has a knack for making plays and being around the football... Switching jersey to No. 5 for his senior season after wearing No. 21 as a junior (JR): Played in all 13 games, logging 12 tackles and one pass break-up... Top game was against Ohio in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl with two stops... Lone pass break-up came in Fresno State game. JUNIOR COLLEGE: Earned honorable mention All- American accolades as well as first-team all- Region III and first-team all-conference honors at Solano (Calif.) CC... Was also selected for the Junior College All-American bowl roster, but the game was postponed due to the Metrodome collapse... Helped Solano CC to a 9-2 record in 2010, winning the South Division Bay Valley Conference title, as the Falcons earned a berth in the Breath for Life Bowl in Monterey, falling to San Jose City College, and finished the year ranked No. 13 in Northern California and No. 25 in the state... Tallied five interceptions with 12 pass break-ups, along with 45 tackles (28 solo, 17 assists), including three tackles for loss... Chose USU because of coaching staff, the USU style of offense, because he wanted to go in-state and be part of the upand-coming program, in addition to loving the Logan community and the campus environment. Sophomore tight end Keegan Andersen (Logan) is one of nine Cache Valley players on the Aggies pre-fall roster including senior safety McKade Brady (Cove), freshman defensive lineman Eric Bernston (Smithfield), junior defensive lineman B.J. Larsen (Logan), freshman quarterback Jeff Manning (Logan), junior tight end Brad Theurer (Logan), junior placekicker Josh Thompson (Logan), freshman placekicker Brock Warren (Hyde Park) and senior wide receiver Cameron Webb (Millville),... Had a streak of at least one catch in a game snapped at 13 games after not catching a pass in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl versus Ohio... Led the team with 34 catches for a team-leading 465 yards... San Antonio, helping the Mounties to a 9-1 record... Earned first-team all-california Community College Football Coaches Association honors for Region III... Tallied 71 receptions for 1,134 yards with 13 touchdowns as a sophomore in leading Mt. SAC to state runner-up finish... Was Mt. SAC team captain... Named second-team all-mission Conference as a freshman in 2007 after leading the Mounties with 65 receptions for 985 yards and nine touchdowns. UTAH STATE: Will be the leader of a defensive unit that returns seven letterwinners and 12 players with experience in the program... A versatile, athletic defensive back who can play either cornerback or safety positions... Has a great motor and plays extremely hard... Has adapted well to college football after running track at BYU (JR): Emerged in 2011 as the leader of the secondary for Utah State, finishing the season third on the team with 86 total tackles, including one for a loss... Posted a career-high 16 tackles against Idaho in a double-overtime win... Was nominated for WAC Defensive Player of the Week after his 13 tackles and one pass breakup performance at Hawai i, that sparked the Aggies late season winning streak... SQ Salt Lake City, Utah (Judge Memorial HS) 31 HIGH SCHOOL: Earned all-state honors and was a two-time all-region selection at Judge Memorial (Utah) High School... Amassed over 1,800 all-purpose yards with 18 touchdowns as a senior... Totalled over 2,500 all-purpose yards with 21 touchdowns for his career... Team captain as a senior... Also a four-year letterwinner in track & field, throwing the javelin as well as running the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m and medley relays. PERSONAL: Born Jan. 18, 1992 in El Paso, Texas... A very knowledgeable and dependable player (RS-FR): Did not play during his first season at USU. PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Redshirted in 2008 at BYU. Linebacker So. SQ Alta, Utah (Alta HS/ Brigham Young) 33 HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time all-state selection at Alta (Utah) High School, helping the Hawks to a 13-1 record and the Utah Class 5A state title in senior season... Posted 106 tackles with seven sacks as a senior... Also a two-year starter on the Alta HS baseball team, driving in 40 RBI as a senior, and a one-year starter in basketball, earning all-state honors his senior season, combining for five total letters in the two sports... Has exceptional on-ball skills (JR): Played in all 13 games, making five starts... Recorded 35 tackles to rank 10th on the team... Finished the year tied for third on the team for pass break-ups with six as well as having 3.5 tackles for a loss to rank eighth on the team... Logged season-high 10 tackles in Idaho game, while adding seven in Nevada contest... Posted season-high two pass break-ups in Wyoming game.
