November 26, 1984 Florida Atlantic s first win in program history came on the road in a decision over Rollins College. November 20, 1987 Wayne Allen makes his debut as the second head coach in Florida Atlantic s young history, dropping an decision to Florida Southern in the FAU Tip-Off Classic. Allen would post four 20-win seasons during his time at FAU, and lead the program to its first four NCAA postseason berths. March 10, 1989 FAU made its postseason debut, reaching the Division II Regional in Pomona, CA. The Owls fell to Cal State Northridge. March 11, 1990 The Owls returned to the Division II Regional, facing Bellarmine in Louisville, KY. March 8, 1991 For the third consecutive season, Florida Atlantic reached the Division II Regionals, facing North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. March 12, 1993 FAU made its fourth regional appearance in five years, traveling to Cleveland, MS, to face Florida Tech. Yolanda Griffith, 1999 WNBA MVP and 2005 WNBA Finals MVP, finished her only season as an Owl with an FAU single-season record 621 points. November 19, 1999 Chancellor Dugan becomes the third head coach in the history of Florida Atlantic University women s basketball. The Owls fell to Florida in Gainesville, FL, in her debut. January 2, 2006 Shontavia Williams goes 9-for-11 from the free-throw line against Mercer to become the program s all-time leader in both free throw attempts and makes. She would finish her career as a 72.3 percent free throw shooter, going 394- for-545 from the stripe. January 28, 2006 Shontavia Williams recorded her 500th career rebound to become the sixth player in FAU history to grab as many career rebounds and the fourth member of FAU s 1,000 point/500 rebound club. She would finish with 615 career rebounds, second-most in FAU history. March 9, 2006 Shontavia Williams scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as she became the program s all-time leading scorer in a win over Jacksonville. Williams finished with 1,466 career points. March 18, 2006 Thanks to the program s first Atlantic Sun postseason title after defeating Gardner Webb, on March 11, the Owls earned an NCAA postseason berth for the first time at the Division I level.
