1 NIRSA CLUB BASKETBALL CONFERENCE MANUAL

2 The NIRSA Club Baketball Conference i excited to provide league baketball for collegiate club team acro the country. The miion of the NIRSA Club Baketball Conference i to provide regular eaon baketball play with a focu on facilitating good competition between peer at intitution in the area. In addition to expanded opportunitie for club team, campu recreation profeional and tudent official will have the opportunity to gain relevant career experience and invaluable tranferable kill through the adminitration and upport of the NIRSA Club Baketball Conference. REGISTRATION Regitration will take place on the NIRSA IMLeague webite. Scheduling, tanding and core reporting will alo be managed on IMLeague. Regitration will open Augut 13th and cloe on October 12th. Club team will need to make payment arrangement by November 1t. Each team, including all individual player, mut ign up and regiter through the regitration ite to be eligible for league play. Player are reponible for completing the following required document through the online ite: waiver and proof of inurance, and the NIRSA Code of Conduct. CONFERENCE DUES All club team will be expected to pay $933 in NIRSA Club Baketball Conference due. Thee due cover: Inurance for hot ite for liability purpoe. Entry into two (2) Club Conference competition and one (1) NIRSA Regional Tournament of the club choice. Date and location for hot ite will be announced by November 1 t. All officiating fee at each Club Conference competition. Each conference game will be officiated uing the three-peron officiating ytem and tudent official. All Athletic Training ervice at each Club Conference competition. The hot chool will be providing thee ervice to club team. Entry for the winner of each conference to the NIRSA National Baketball Championhip, hoted by Wichita Hoop in Wichita, KS. NOTE: Conference due do not cover travel expene for the club team to the Club Conference competition or the NIRSA Regional Tournament. Club will be expected to ecure tranportation, meal and lodging for thee event. Conference due can be paid in intallment of $311. Arrangement for the firt intallment mut be made by November 1t. The econd intallment will be due February 1 t and the final intallment of $311 will be due on March 1 t. Club mut indicate to the Club Baketball work team chair if they are chooing the intallment payment method or if they are going to pay the entirety of the due upon regitration. Conference due can be paid through IMLeague or via check or PO to the NIRSA Headquarter. Contact the Club Baketball work team chair, Ahley Lax, for payment via IMLeague or contact Val McCutchan at NIRSA Headquarter for check payment option. Page 2

3 SCHEDULING The NIRSA Club Baketball Conference will chedule club team within the diviion to which they are aigned. Diviion will be determined baed on regional location of regitered team. Conference will range in ize from four (4) to ten (10) team. Depending on diviion ize, club team are guaranteed the following number of regular eaon game: Page 3 Number of Team Number of Regular Seaon Game The regular eaon game will be facilitated through a round robin format at the two (2) deignated Club Conference event for each diviion. The hot chool and date for thee conference event will be announced no later than November 1 t. Club team that regiter for the NIRSA Club Baketball Conference will be expected to be available for the two deignated Club Conference event for their diviion. Every attempt will be made to have three option for each diviion in term of Club Conference event, but there i no guarantee there will be option for the club team to chooe from for competition. Club team that do not make themelve available for the deignated Club Conference game will forfeit the cheduled contet for that event. Forfeited contet will be cored 2-0 for diviion champion election purpoe. The regular eaon will be in the Spring emeter. All play will be concluded by the lat week in March, o diviion champion can be determined and National repreentation can be elected. All attempt will be made to chedule Club Conference event around NIRSA Regional Tournament in that diviion regional area. DIVISION CHAMPION SELECTION The club team in each diviion with the highet winning percentage after regular eaon play ha concluded will be named the Diviion Champion. Diviion Champion will receive a bid and funding to the National Tournament. In the event of a tie between two (2) or more team, the following tiebreaker procedure will be ued to determine Diviion Champion: Tie involving two team 1. Record in head-to-head matchup() 2. Point differential v tied team 3. Point allowed v tied team 4. Point differential in club conference game (total) 5. Point allowed in club conference game (total, if both team have played ame number of game) 6. Record againt next highet ranked team in diviion 7. Coin flip Tie involving three or more team 1. Record in head-to-head matchup between tied team 2. Point differential v tied team 3. Point allowed v tied team

4 4. Point differential in all conference game 5. Point allowed in all conference game (if all tied team play an equal number of game) 6. Record againt next highet ranked team in diviion 7. Coin Flip PLAYER ELIGIBILITY Player mut be enrolled for the minimum number of hour (lited below) for at leat 45 day prior to the beginning of the championhip event. Undergraduate - minimum of half full-time enrollment tatu Graduate - minimum of ix credit hour If a player i a graduating enior and taking le than the required hour to fulfill their graduation requirement, ubmit a letter from the regitrar along with the regitration material tating that the player will be graduating the ame term of the event. For NIRSA Championhip Serie event that occur during an academic break, the preceding term will be ued to determine eligibility. Participant from chool on the quarter ytem mut meet the eligibility requirement of the half time enrollment for both the current and the preceding quarter. Player are limited to ix appearance in NIRSA Championhip Serie National event or appearing on a varity roter per port. Thee appearance can be nonconecutive, but after any ix appearance on a roter in the ame port eligibility i exhauted. Beginning in the fall of 2010, anyone participating a a firt-time participant ha ix year of eligibility per port at NIRSA event. Player that have appeared on a NIRSA Championhip Serie roter in the ame port between the fall of 2005 and pring 2010 alo have ix appearance that can alo be nonconecutive. Any player that appeared on a NIRSA Championhip Serie event roter or varity quad lit prior to the fall of 2005 are no longer eligible to participate in NIRSA Championhip Serie event. If a player ha appeared on a "varity quad lit" at any two-year or four-year college varity team in the ame port, thi alo contitute a year() of ued eligibility. If a tudent played on varity port for two year, they till have four appearance left at NIRSA event (o long a their team doen't exceed the maximum number of varity player). Player mut not be lited on the varity roter (or "Squad Lit") in the ame or related port for the current academic year. Exception may be granted to any player that wa lited on the roter for le than three week. If a former varity player ha been lited on a varity roter or "quad lit" for four or five academic year, that player i not eligible for NIRSA Championhip Serie competition until after one full academic year ha laped from the final academic year they were lited on a chool' varity quad lit. Player have never been declared a profeional athlete in the ame or related port. A profeional athlete i one who receive any kind of payment, directly or indirectly, for athletic participation, or who ha participated in competition with a profeional team. A profeional athletic team i any organized team that provide any of it player more than actual and neceary expene for participation on the team and/or declare itelf to be profeional. Team repreenting military intallation are eligible to compete, o long a all member of thoe team are aigned to the ame military intallation. Team roter are limited to a maximum of 16 player. Club team mut requet for player to be ubtituted off the roter once a regular eaon game ha been played. Subtitution will only be conidered for injury or ineligibility reaon. No women are allowed to compete on a men' team, and no men are allowed to compete on a women' team. Refer to the NIRSA Championhip Serie for trangendered participation policie. Team are limited to one former varity athlete on a roter. A former varity player i defined a a tudent who ha been lited on a "chool' varity quad lit" for any 2-year or 4-year college/univerity team for more than one academic year in the port of baketball. TEAM JERSEYS Team mut bring both light and dark uniform. Hot ite hould provide a back-up neutral et of jerey for team to check out in cae of color conflict. Jerey hall have affixed number, preferably only utilizing the digit of 0-5. Player number mut be unique to each individual. Team are prohibited from taping number to the jerey. RULES SUMMARY National Federation of State High School Aociation (NFHS) rule will be utilized for NIRSA Baketball Club Conference play, with the following modification: Page 5 Playing time hall be two twenty (20) minute halve with an eight (8) minute half time. The clock will top on all whitle in the final two minute of each half. Each team will receive 3 timeout per game. They will receive one additional timeout for each overtime period. All other

6 timeout do not carry over into overtime. Overtime hall be a three-minute period, with the clock topping on all whitle in the lat minute. No hot clock will be utilized. Two-point field goal and three point field goal will be ued. When available, the high chool three-point line will be utilized. SPORTSMANSHIP All play will be governed by the NIRSA Championhip Serie Code of Conduct. Each club i reponible for agreeing to the tatement prior to the tart of the eaon. Completed form mut be provided to the league commiioner. Two unporting technical foul on the ame player in the ame game will reult in ejection. An ejected player will be diqualified for the next contet that the ejected player would be eligible for otherwie. If the ejection fall on the lat game of the eaon, the ejected player would be ineligible for the firt contet of the following regular eaon that the player or club participate in with the NIRSA Club Baketball Conference. Any player accumulating three (3) or more unporting technical foul during a weekend tournament will be barred from further participation on the weekend and mut peak with the Competition Management Committee to determine the player eligibility for the remainder of the eaon. Any player accumulating four (4) or more unporting technical foul during the coure of the eaon will be barred from further participation in the NIRSA Club Baketball Conference regular eaon. Any player ejected from two (2) contet in a eaon will be ineligible for the remainder of the NIRSA Club Baketball Conference regular eaon. All ejected player are required to leave the viual confine of the court immediately upon diqualification. NIRSA reerve the right to upend an ejected player from NIRSA Regional and National Tournament play if the action of the individual are deemed a eriou enough offene to warrant uch a upenion. Player would appeal thi upenion to the Standard of Competition work team within the NIRSA Championhip Serie. OFFICIALS INFORMATION The integrity of the current tudent development format will continue and be upheld. Student official only will be utilized for regional and national tournament. Student official only will be utilized for the regular eaon play. Exception may apply where aignor find they cannot find enough tudent to officiate all of the conference game. Crew of three will be ued at all NIRSA Club Baketball Conference game. STUDENT OFFICIALS ELIGIBILITY Student Official mut meet the ame enrollment eligibility criteria a player throughout the NIRSA Championhip Serie event: half-time for undergraduate and at leat ix hour for graduate at their repreenting intitution.
