1 2018 Mystery Mixer Event Notice Organising body: Northern Region Committee Hosted by: Northern Region Tournament Committee: Kath Eastwood Janine Kolkman Date: Saturday, 5 th May and Sunday 6 th May First game will commence at 11.30am on Saturday Last prize giving (following the last game) is scheduled to take place at 4pm on Sunday We reserve the right to run overtime if unforeseen circumstances occur, but will endeavour to run on time where at all possible. Location: Activzone, 30 Downing Street, Glenfield, Auckland Please do not park across the road at the Postmans Leg, you will be towed. There is sufficient free parking at the Glenfield Mall next door.
2 Grades Under 10, Under 12, and Under 14 as at the 1 st January There is no provision for girls to play down, if you require dispensation to play down a grade please contact the Tournament Committee directly on janine.kolkman@xtra.co.nz. Teams Teams will be decided upon by the Tournament Committee. They will consist of a maximum of 8 players and 1 goalie, mixed gender, mixed skill level, and mixed clubs. Every endeavour to ensure teams are as even as possible will be made. No negotiation will be entered into regarding team placement. Teams will be advised by by the 30 th April Entry Fee The entry fee is $30 per player. The tournament entry form needs to be completed in full and fee paid prior to your entry being confirmed. Your allocated team will be advised by the 30 th April Entry will be limited to 4 goalies and 32 players in each grade (4 teams). These will be accepted on a strictly first-come basis. The entry fee is non-refundable unless exceptional circumstances occur, and is at the tournament committee s discretion. Each team will get 4 games over the two days of the tournament. In the event that the tournament does not take place due to unforeseen circumstances, all fees will be refunded.
3 Closing date The closing date for entries is the 23 rd April Teams will be advised by the 30 th April Rules Players can only play for one team in the tournament. Unless injury or illness occurs after the tournament has commenced and another player is required to make a team viable (eg: goalies). Each player is personally responsible for wearing all correct protective equipment at all times on the rink. There is NO-tolerance of bad-mouthing the ref or other players, foul-language, or unsafe play, during this tournament. Any infringement of this will result in the offender being benched for the duration of the game, or removed from the premises. Venue The rink complies with the safety standards in the IHNZ Inline Hockey Rule Book. There is a cafeteria on-site that will be open at all times during the tournament. A first-aid room, with icepacks and a fully stocked first aid kit is available. The draw, results and team lists will be posted on a wall in the venue. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the venue. No pets allowed in the venue.
4 Placing Single round-robin tournament. Initial placing will be done on points. A tie on points goes to goal differential, then penalties against. Round-robin placings then go into a play off for 1 st & 2 nd, and 3 rd & 4 th for final placings. Awards 1 st place gold medal 2 nd place silver medal 3 rd place bronze medal 4 th place medal Games The playing rules are the same as those in the IHNZ Rulebook, with the following notable exceptions. There will be no warm-up time. There are no time-outs. The games consist of two 18 minute halves, with a 1 minute half-time. There is no stop-clock time, except in the finals. Health & Safety There will be a first-aid officer on the premises while all games are being played. If your child has any known medical conditions such as asthma, or recent injuries, you (or someone you nominate) are required to remain on the premises whilst they are playing and be responsible for their treatment if required.
5 Spectators are required to stand clear of netting and areas of the rink without netting (particularly behind the benches), for their own safety. These areas will be clearly sign posted. Uniforms Players will be issued with playing shirts for their allocated team when they arrive; these shirts are their responsibility for the duration of the tournament and must be returned to Tournament Officials after prize-giving for their grade. Pants in reasonable condition, and all safety equipment as specified by the IHNZ Rulebook must be worn when on the rink. Officials The Tournament Committee will provide referees and would appreciate help on the scorebench please see if you can assist throughout the tournament. Referees Two referees will officiate in each game, where possible. Referees will have at least a level one referee qualification where possible. Scorer/Timekeepers The official IHNZ scoresheet will be used. There will be no individuals numbers recorded for goals or assists; the team will be awarded the goal. For each game there is an official scorer and a game time-keeper (who will also operate as the penalty time-keeper).
6 Disciplinary Committee The Tournament Disciplinary Committee will deal with any disciplinary matters. The disciplinary committee is: Jenny Henry Janine Kolkman Kath Eastwood The tournament disciplinary committee is empowered to discipline all players, officials and spectators for their conduct both on and off the rink before, during, and after any games.
