4 MUSIC COMPETITION JUDGING FORM Please make sure that your young people are aware of how they will be judged in the MUSIC COMPETITION. Each entrant will be given a rating of 1 st, 2 nd, or 3 rd based on overall performance. It is possible for more than one entrant to receive the same rating in any given music competition category, because placement will be determined by the % of total points possible. Be sure to encourage your youth to do their very best. NAME(S) CHURCH AGE GROUP COMPETITION APPROACH AND DEPARTURE 0-10 POISE APPEARANCE MEMORY TIMING EYE CONTACT DIFFICULTY WORDS CLEARLY SUNG APPROPRIATENESS ACCURACY TO PITCH (HARMONY) TOTAL SPECIAL MUSIC RULES Every church participating in Music Competition is asked to have at least one person available to judge all Music Competition, preferably having some knowledge of music. The designated judge for each church must stay to judge all entrants of each category that they judge. NOTE: Consult the Camp Schedule for Music Competition times. Entrants must be ready and in place before the competition starts. ALSO REMEMBER: Only piano accompaniment is allowed for Music/Singing Competition. All music should be conservative, and Christian or Patriotic in content. Piano players are available to practice with those needing it (Entrants must provide copies of their sheet music).

5 BOYS PREACHING COMPETITION GUIDELINES 2018 SENIOR/JUNIOR CAMP 1. Only male campers may compete. 2. Entrants must be between the ages of 9 and 12 for Junior Camp. Entrants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 for Senior Camp, HAVING NOT BEEN TO COLLEGE. 3. Material must be prepared by the entrant before arrival. 4. At the time of Camp Registration, each entrant must turn in 5 completed copies of the judging form, along with a copy of the sermon outline (attached to each). It is up to the entrant to make needed copies of judging form. NO EXCEPTIONS. 5. Message must be 8-10 minutes long and Baptistic in content. 6. Preaching order will be determined by the director of this competition. 7. Competition will take place at 5:4pm on Thursday in the location which shall be designated as the Tabernacle. 8. Three (3) to five (5) preachers will be selected to judge the Preaching Competition. They must be present to judge every entrant. 9. The following areas will be judged: 1. Personal appearance 0 to 10 points 2. Diction 0 to 10 points 3. Presentation 0 to 10 points 4. Platform manner 0 to 10 pints 5. Content 0 to 60 points 10. No more than 2 entrants per church. 11. Please put the church s full name and city/state where required on the judging forms.

6 GIRLS TEACHING COMPETITION GUIDELINES 2018 SENIOR/JUNIOR CAMP Only female campers are allowed to compete. There is no limit to the number of competitors from each church, and they are not divided by age groups, as with Music Competition. Girls need only prepare a lesson from one of the listed categories. The lesson should be geared towards a specific target group, such as Grade School or Teens. It is a good idea to use visuals, if at all possible. See the attached form for information on judging criteria. It might be helpful to provide a copy for each entrant so that they may better prepare their lesson for the competition. A minimum of four ladies from participating churches will be needed to judge the competition (one to tally scores).
