3 RULES AND GENERAL INFORMATION Thank you all for participating in this year's edition of the Experience Classic. The draw is sectioned according to requested start times and draw limitations. This means, seeding is extremely hard to accomplish while trying to accommodate requests as best as possible. Thank you for your understanding. We would like to thank Lachine Curling Club for collaborating with us once again and hosting games on sheets 51, 52, and 53 on Saturday November 11th. RULES BROOMS The "broom moratorium" is in full effect, as the bonspiel has CTRS consideration. Please contact us if you have any questions. We will have "Legal" heads available at the club in case. The ladies section having only eight teams precludes the potential for CTRS points, therefore the broom moratorium need not apply. HAMMER Prior to each game, teams will flip a coin. The team winning the coin flip will choose colour. The team losing the coin flip will choose which side of the sheet (in turn or out turn side) to deliver their stones. In alternating fashion, each team will throw three stones; the first two being practice rocks, and the third used to determine hammer in the first end of the game shortest distance to pin wins hammer. Should the pin be covered, the same player will throw again. Playoffs - same formula will apply throughout. IMPORTANT: The accumulation of all three games draw to button for hammer (measured in cm), will be the shootout score used for tiebreakers. Any unmeasured rocks will result in an automatic maximum distance recorded. PLAYOFF ROUND In the Open section, the teams with the top record in each pool qualify in seeds Q1 Q4. Playoff seeding to be determined by overall record, then by cumulative shootout score. In case of a tie within the pool, rankings will be determined by: 1) head to head result; 2) the lowest cumulative shootout score. The remaining 4 qualifying spots (seeds Q5 - Q8) will be the next 4 best records overall, using shootouts as the tiebreaker for seeding.
4 In the Ladies section, the teams with the top record in each pool qualify in seeds Q1 Q2. Playoff seeding to be determined by overall record, then by cumulative shootout score. In case of a tie within the pool, rankings will be determined by: 1) head to head result; 2) the lowest cumulative shootout score. The remaining two qualifying spots (seeds Q3 Q4) will be the next two best records overall, using shootouts as the tiebreaker. TIE BREAKING METHOD FOR ACCESSING THE PLAYOFF ROUND Once Q1 through Q4 (for the Open) and Q1 and Q2 (for the ladies) are determined from Pool Rankings, if more than four Open and/or more than two Ladies teams are left with records that would qualify for the playoff round, tie breaking games will be played, as follows: If eight Open teams remain playoff eligible after qualifying Q1-Q4, then: The two eligible teams with the best shout out scores will be Q5 and Q6 respectively. The next four eligible teams, in order of shootout results will playoff at 2100 Saturday night for Q7 and Q8. The two eligible teams with the highest shootout scores will be eliminated. If seven Open teams remain playoff eligible after qualifying Q1-Q4, then: The three eligible teams with the best shout out scores will be Q5, Q6 and Q7 respectively. The next two eligible teams, in order of shootout results will playoff at 2100 Saturday night for Q8. The two eligible teams with the highest shootout scores will be eliminated. If six Open teams remain playoff eligible after qualifying Q1-Q4, then: The two eligible teams with the best shout out scores will be Q5 and Q6 respectively. The four remaining eligible teams, in order of shootout results, will playoff at 2100 Saturday night for Q7 and Q8. If five Open teams remain playoff eligible after qualifying Q1-Q4, then: The three eligible teams with the best shout out scores will be Q5, Q6 and Q7 respectively. The two remaining eligible teams will playoff at 2100 Saturday night for Q8. If four Ladies teams remain playoff eligible after qualifying Q1-Q2, then: Those four eligible teams, in order of shootout results will playoff at 2100 Saturday night for Q3 and Q4. If three Ladies teams remain playoff eligible after qualifying Q1-Q2, then: The eligible team with the best shout out scores will be Q2. The two remaining eligible teams, in order of shootout results will playoff at 2100 Saturday night for Q4. For the playoff round - any unexpected circumstance that arises, will be decided by the tournament committee with consultation of impartial skips.
