1 COACHING STAFF Head Coach: Jack Capuano Born: July 7, 1966 in Cranston, Rhode Island Jack Capuano was named head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on April 30, He served as an associate coach with the Sound Tigers for a season before being named to the head job. In the season, he served as an assistant coach for the Sound Tigers National Hockey League parent club the Islanders. Prior to joining the Islanders, Capuano served as the head coach of the 2005 U.S. Under-18 Select Team at the Five Nations Cup in Slovakia. From , the Rhode Island native was with the Pee Dee Pride of the East Coast Hockey League. As general manager and while serving several stints as head coach, Capuano led the Pride to a record of In , Capuano coached Pee Dee to a regular season record of and to the ECHL Final. Capuano, who turned 43 on July 7, began his coaching career in 1995 as an assistant coach with the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks of the ECHL after ending a pro playing career that included stints with the Boston, Vancouver and Toronto of the NHL and Springfield and Maine of the American Hockey League. The former First Team All American captained the University of Maine to a Hockey East championship and NCAA Frozen Four appearance in Assistant Coach: Pat Bingham Born: August 10, 1968 in Vancouver, British Columbia Pat Bingham was named assistant coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on May 21, Bingham was the head coach of the Fort Wayne Komets of the United Hockey League in after serving the year prior as an assistant coach with the Sound Tigers. Before joining the Sound Tigers, Bingham served as the head coach of the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League from Bingham led the Nailers to a record of His coaching career has included stints with the Huntsville Channel Cats from in the Central Hockey League, the Asheville Smoke from in the United Hockey League and the Adirondack IceHawks from , also of the United Hockey League. Bingham finished his playing career in 1996 that included time in the ECHL, AHL, Colonial Hockey League and the Southern Hockey League. Assistant Coach: Matt Bertani Born: March 27, 1976 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania The Sound Tigers hired Matt Bertani on July 28, His duties include all of the team's video analysis of opponents and assisting in practice plans. Bertani served as an assistant coach at Penn State University, and was the Director of Recruiting while monitoring the team s player development. Before his years at Happy Valley, Bertani served as an assistant coach with the ECHL s Johnstown Chiefs. Bertani is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and graduate from Mercyhurst College.
