Before attempting this modification, it is advised to verify this will work on your Colorado or Canyon, as not all GMT 355's are same! PURPOSE: To install a 1 body lift REQUIRED PARTS: Hockey pucks (12 for Regular or Extended cab, 14 for Crew cab) M x90mm for the bed (6 bolts for each bed configuration) M14-2x150mm for the cab (6 bolts for Regular or Extended cab, 8 for Crew cab) REQUIRED TOOLS: Drill and bits Sockets Hacksaw/Dremel INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Drill a hole in the center of each hockey puck. ½ hole for pucks which will be used on the bed, 9/16 or 5/8 hole for pucks which will be used on the cab. (See Figure 1, which also shows the bolts required). 2. Block the wheels to ensure the truck doesn t move. Figure 1: Drilled out pucks and bolts 3. Starting with the bed, remove all the bolts on the driver s side mounts. Loosen the bolts on the passenger side, but do not remove them yet. (See Figure 2 for mount locations and Figure 3 for what the mount looks like). Page 1 of 6

Insert the new bolts, but do not tighten them down yet. 5. Remove the bolts on the passenger side and install the hockey pucks and new bolts. Ensure the bed is lined up correctly, then tighten all the bolts to 85ft-lbs. 6. Repeat steps 2-5 on the cab. (See Figure 4 for cab mount locations). Page 2 of 6

3 Figure 4: Cab Mount Locations 7. Now you need to either remove or trim the bottom of the fan shroud so that the fan doesn t hit it. Removing the bottom portion requires removing the lower radiator hose, so I simply trimmed it. (See Figure 5). Figure 5: Trimmed Fan Shroud 8. Now you ve probably got a nice gap between the bumpers and the body, looking something like Figure 6. Figure 6: Gaps between body and bumpers Page 3 of 6

4 9. Now we ll move the front bumper up to reduce that gap. If you have fog lights, remember to disconnect the wiring before you remove the bumper! 10. Take out all the screws (8 total). There are 2 on each side bracket, two in-between the top of the bumper and the bottom of the grille, and 2 on top of the frame rails. For the two on top, I used an adjustable wrench, for the 2 on the frame rails, I used an adjustable wrench to get them loose, then used a 5/8 socket to back them all the way out. The screws on the side brackets came off with a 5/8 socket. (See Figure 7). Figure 7: Bumper Mounting Bolts 11. Once you have the bumper off, ream the holes in the mounting brackets down as much as possible. I also cut off a portion of the washer so that it was still usable. (See Figure 8). Figure 8: Holes in mounting bracket expanded downward and washer cut to match bracket shape 12. Test fit. I used a lot of washers on top of the frame rails to lift the bumper. I also ran into a problem with the front of the frame rails hitting the bumper, so I removed material from the bumper to make it fit (See Figure 9). 5 13. Test fit again, and hopefully it all fits now. If so, tighten down all the mounting bolts. (See Figure 10). Figure 10: Side mounting brackets and bolts after lifted bumper is installed 14. If you wish to raise the rear bumper as well, you can, but it looks like it will be more difficult than the front bumper, based on the way the mounting brackets are designed. (See Figure 11). Maybe if my truck was not black the gap would be more noticeable, but the rear gap doesn t bother me, so I left that bumper in place. Figure 11: Rear bumper mounting bracket Page 5 of 6
