1 -- EXAMPLE ONLY -- ADDRESS: 8334 Fannin Street CITY: Houston COUNTY: Harris GRADE: 11th AGE ON 8/31/2017: 16 Is Participant a Rookie exhibitor? No (Yes or No) The Record Book Good record keeping is essential in every facet of the beef production industry. The purpose of this record book is to expose contestants to the record keeping aspect of a cattle feeding operation. Close attention should be given to each section of the record book especially to the accuracy of all mathematical calculations. To maintain the integrity of the Junior Commercial Steer Feeding and Management Show, please use true and accurate information when preparing your record book. General Record Book Information Contestants will be required to complete a separate Closeout Worksheet after receiving their cattle's sale weight at the Show. Record Books must be turned in by 9:00 a.m. on the check-in date to make the official Record Book audit where points are awarded. Prior to the Show, questions regarding Record Books may be directed to JCSRecordBooks@gmail.com no later than the deadline as stated in the Official Rules. The Record Book shall be signed below by the same individuals signing the "Affidavit of Certification", evidencing their acknowledgement that the Record Book accurately reflects the actual results of the feed program in accordance with the guidelines specifically stated within these instructions and the Official Rules related to the Junior Commercial Steer Feeding and Management Contest. Every effort humanly possible will be made to audit and grade all record books consistently based on compliance with the instructions and examples herein provided. Any discussions regarding audit corrections or record book scores shall be conducted between the Vice-Chairman of Record Books of the Junior Commercial Steer Feeding and Management Contest Committee or his/her appointee and the individual exhibitor. (See Rule 20. of the Special Rules for Junior Commercial Steer Feeding & Management Show which states "The Junior Commercial Steer Feeding & Management Committee Chairman will designate a time when the exhibitor may direct questions or inquiries pertaining to any aspect of the Show to Show Officials or designated committee persons "). In the spirit of fair and honest competition, I attest that the information contained in this Record Book is accurate and truthful to the best of my knowledge. I understand that falsification of records to gain a competitive edge is morally and ethically wrong and negatively impacts the integrity of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Junior Commercial Steer Feeding and Management Contest.
