2 EXHIBITOR NAME (Print): 2 OBJECTIVE To encourage and promote livestock breeding projects among 4-H and FFA members and provide a learning experience emphasizing selection, record keeping, feeding, animal health, industry standards, technical knowledge and general livestock management skills. GUIDELINES 1. An Official Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo Calf Scramble Record Book, obtained from either the CEA or AST or STFR, stating the specie and breed of livestock bought and the progress made, including feed and animal health records, must be prepared by the contestant and submitted to the CEA or AST. The CEA or AST will forward the reports to STFR with his/her recommendations as to whether or not the contestant should receive title to the livestock. The entire program will be under the supervision of the CEA or AST. 2. RECORD BOOK DEADLINE: The Official Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo Calf Scramble Record Book must be either delivered or received by mail, to the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo Livestock Office by 5:00 p.m. on March 1, Each exhibitor should calculate and verify all mathematical information. Each exhibitor should be prepared to explain and/or perform any calculations throughout the record book. 4. Additional pictures, written descriptions and/or explanations of the project may be included at the end of the record book and are encouraged. 5. Refer to the current Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo Premium List for all governing rules and further explanations of the Junior Calf Scramble Program. 6. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE PROJECT TO BEGIN FILLING OUT THIS REPORT; ACCURATE RECORDS ARE TO BE KEPT FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE PROJECT.

EXPENSES - COST OF PROJECT All projects must be purchased on or before the required ownership date for that specie (see current premium book for ownership dates). In addition to a copy of the Calf Scramble Certificate, a copy of the bill of sale, invoice, or receipt should follow this page in the Record Book and include the following: name and address of buyer/exhibitor name and address of seller name and address of breeder (if not the seller) date of purchase number of animals purchased purchase price of the project Complete the following summary for the Calf Scramble Breeding Project originally purchased. 4 EXHIBITOR NAME (Print): 4 II. EXPENSES - EQUIPMENT INVENTORY All equipment used during the project must be inventoried and accounted for. All items the exhibitor already owns prior to beginning the project should be listed with an approximate cost. Any new items purchased should be listed with the purchase price. Copy all receipts for items purchased and include them in the Record Book following this portion of the book. If more than one page is required, duplicate this page and carry over the subtotals at the bottom of each page to the next page. The final page should reflect cumulative totals. Complete the following chart listing any instances where you received a return on your calf scramble project. Examples of potential income from project may be premium income from exhibiting at any stock shows, sale of any offspring, semen, embryo, etc., Any expenses related to the listed income (i.e. entry fees) must be listed on the miscellaneous cost expense sheet in section V of the Record Book.
