2 Welcome to the Cowboys Red Angus sale! This is our second year in Knoxville Iowa and we are certainly looking forward to offering this group of Red Angus cattle to you. As I write this introduction, we have just finished videoing the bulls that will be offered to you in this event and to say it has been challenging with the recent weather we have been having would be an understatement. But the bright side of this change in weather is it will surely bring green grass this spring. I hope you don t mind a bit of mud on these animals! Within the pages of this catalog, you will find cattle that represent several genetic lines that are sure to treat you well as you move forward with your cattle operation. We have been very fortunate to have entered into a partnership with the Rock Creek Red Angus program from Joliet, MT. You will find several lots here carrying the RCRA prefix on them. Some of them have been here since last spring when they came from Montana as pairs. Some arrived this fall after weaning. We will also have cattle from our friends in North Carolina, the Banfields of JK Red Angus. Their cattle also arrived last fall as well. They do a really good job with their cattle and they were well received in last year s sale offering. We, of course, are from Iowa as well as the Damman family and the Cowtraks folks. I would encourage you to study the lots offered within the pages of this catalog to find the genetics that will work for you. I believe this is a great diversified offering that will work in almost any program out there. If you have any questions about any of the lots being offered I would encourage you to call the owners directly or I. We will be more than happy to help you in any way. The bulls we have had at our place since the fall have been feed a very high roughage ration with low energy sources added to them. We feel bulls fed in this fashion will last longer when they are breeding and there will be fewer issues with feet and structure as well. Quite frankly, we are trying to offer you bulls that will go home and work for you for as long as you need them to without issues. While we hope that you can attend the sale in person, we realize this may not be possible. 4 Bulls This is a strong aged bull that we picked up out of last years sale from the JK program to use on some of our heifers. He has a 75 lb BW and still ranks in the top 16% for WW, 15% YW, 14% ME and 14% CW. A really nice bull that can go out and cover a large group of heifers or cows. I personally think Dynasty looks a lot like Yardmaster and we thought enough of him that we used him to cover some cows last year. I will not be shy about saying that he is my favorite bull in the offering and if I needed another herd bull I would be keeping him around. The Raven cow is an absolute workhorse here on the ranch, she is a nice moderate framed cow that outdoes herself every year, whether it s an ET calf or a natural calf, she always makes us calves that are highly marketable. His sire is the ever popular Firestorm, a bull that is now deceased and whose semen is getting harder to find and whose value keeps going up. We sold 4 Firestorm sons in this sale last year, they all stayed in Iowa and the post breeding reports I got from customers were very positive. Use Dauntless to add frame, length of body, and correctness of skeleton to your cow herd. I think this bull will make some fantastic replacement females. Dare to Dream is the natural calf out of our Raven donor and man did she impress us with this stout dude! I think you have to see this bull in person to appreciate how 3-dimensional he really is, and he happens to be out of my new favorite herd sire, JDD CTRH Dream Look. Dream Look is a bull that we showed for 2 years and after his show career he became our go to sire, in both natural service and AI. Dare to Dream was the first calf ever born out of Dream Look and you will be seeing many more like him in this sale next year as many of our fallborn bull calves are sired by Dream Look, they are some of the most powerful calves ever born on the ranch. This bull has always impressed me b/c the fact that he could stouten up a cow herd in one generation. Check out his ET maternal brother, Da Vinci, who sells in this sale. 311 is a low birth weight Rockstar son who s dam is a High Capacity X Whitestone Blockanna daughter. He ranks in the top 24% for WW, 22% YW, 9% ME and 16% CW. His 68 lb birth weight will make him a legitimate calving ease sire.

6 Bulls This calf is a little different as you will notice. He is sired by a Fat Tony son and his dam is a commercial Sim/Red Angus cow. He has a 72 lb BW so I think it s safe to say that he will be a reasonably easy calving bull as he goes to work for you. 316 is moderate in his design and made thick and deep. He is a Lion Heart son and his dam is a Grand Statement daughter. His rankings put him in the top 10% WW, 13% YW and 9% CW.
