Brand your calendar for the 12th annual Cattle Barons' Ball, on March 7, 2009 at the Port of Tampa Cruise Terminal 6. Saddle up for a night to remember! Fantastic Grub, bellying up to the Saloon, two steppin, gaming, auctions and bodacious live entertainment, horse stampede, line dancin and much, much more! When: March 7, 2009 Grab your hat and dust off your boots, climb into your best western gear for the most enjoyable event this side of the Mississippi! It promises to bring you a "toe-tappin, knee-slappin, rip-roarin kick up your heels good time!" Where: Why: Port of Tampa, Cruise Terminal 6 (new location at the port) In 1913, the five year survival rate was one in nine. In 1940, the survival rate grew to one in four. In the 1960 s, the cancer survival rate was up to one in three. Today, the cancer survival rate is 62% for all cancers. The American Cancer Society donates more money to cancer research that any other private, not for profit, nongovernment funder of cancer research in the United States. The American Cancer Society has funded 42 Nobel Prize winners. With your donation, we can fund the 43rd. The American Cancer Society's Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge is a short-term residential facility de signed to offer housing, counseling and referral services free of charge to any cancer patient who travels to the Tampa Bay area for treatment. This facility if fully funded by the American Cancer Society. Reaching Out to Cancer Kids (R.O.C.K.) Programs, includes R.O.C.K. Camp, R.O.C.K. families weekend, and college scholarships for kids with cancer. These programs are fully funded by the American Cancer Society. Help make a difference in these children s lives. ROCK Programs As Underwriter of the outstanding Program, you/your company will be the first one to donate to ensure that the children in our community diagnosed with cancer will have the opportunity to attend camp, apply for a scholarship, have their family attend ROCK Family weekend or have your donation go towards funding a researcher working on finding a cure. At Cattle Barons you will be listed as the Underwriter of ROCK Programs during our call to action. Our donors will be asked to contribute a minimum of $1,000 during this emotional giving time. Hope Lodge It takes over ONE MILLION dollars of donated funds to run our American Cancer Society s Hope Lodge. Hope Lodge is a home away from home for cancer patients & a caregiver during active treatment for cancer in our community. Please help us fund this program by planting the seeds so we may watch the funding grow. At our Cattle Barons Ball, donors will be asked to contribute $1,000 dollars to help defray the costs of a week at our facility.
