2 6 About the Marathon Relay Teams A relay team normally comprises 6 members, each running one distance leg of the full marathon. In teams with fewer than 6 runners (there must be a minimum of 4), one or two competitors will have to run two consecutive relay legs. The Marathon Relay will feature the following leg distances: How will the relay race work? Runners must wear their individual bibs at all times (refer to pages 9-0 in the Runners Guide on how to fasten this) In addition to individual bibs, each relay team captain will receive a team Baton (bib and waist belt). This contains a timing chip that will record the performance of the whole team Runner A Runner B Runner C Runner D Runner E Runner F 400 The Baton The baton is passed to the next runner at the end of each leg. It is the baton that determines the start to finish time. The Baton is a waist belt with a team race number (including a timing chip), which must be clearly visible from the front. Team Bib & Belt Single Bibs for each team member The team bib and waist belt must be given to runner A for the start of the race and passed to each subsequent runner at baton handover. Each team s bib number will be the same, with each runner individually identified by a letter. Example: Team bib number: 400 Individual bib numbers: 400A / 400B / 400C / 400D / 400E / 400F All runners on completion of their distance legs will proceed to the Meeting Point located 00 metres from the finish line. (Each runner must refer to their specific instructions found on pages 8-60). All members of the team will join the last runner and cross the marathon finish line together. PLEASE RETURN YOUR RELAY BELT AT THE END OF THE RACE

Oman Sail Car Park, Al Mouj Muscat Distance: From: Start Line - Race Village To: Al Mouj Golf Club Runner A should make their own way to the start line at the Race Village, which is a short walk from the event parking. Once Runner A completes their section, they should take the Shuttle Bus from point to a (See Marathon Relay map for location). Leave at baggage drop off or give it to Runner B before the race and pick it up when Runner B Distance: From: Al Mouj Golf Club To: Street 6 (in front of the start line) Runner B should take the Shuttle Bus from, located at the parking area; please take the shuttle at.40 AM (LAST TIME) to get to your starting Once Runner B completes their section, they should walk back to the Race Village, proceeding on foot to the (See Marathon Relay map for location). Please take the shuttle at 8.0 AM, 9.0 AM OR 0.0 AM (LAST TIME) to get to your starting Runner F will pass this when approaching the end of the race and meeting team members, before proceeding to the finish line together. Please note that this arrangement is dependent on the team s speed and runners should not pause for too long to locate them. Pass it to the runner E.
