4 Exterior design Elegance & efficiency Designed by Omega Architects and built with Van Oossanen s Fast Displacement Hull Form, Home is Heesen s frst yacht developed with hybrid propulsion. The hybrid propulsion system is able to draw on two sources of power separately or simultaneously: diesel mechanical and diesel electrical. The results speak for themselves. Transatlantic range Home has a transatlantic range of 3,750 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Powered by two MTU 12V 2000 M61 engines, she boasts a top speed of 16.3 knots.

10 Hybrid engine system Silent cruising Home s hybrid engine system embraces the very best of 21st-century technology. Vast improvements in alternative power systems allow us to meet our increasingly important aims of minimising our environmental impact. The hybrid system ofers irresistible advantages over a conventional diesel-powered system: cleaner, quieter and more fuel efcient. E-motor Gearbox Main engine Generator Hotel load The engine can be operated in four Distribution different cruising modes E-motor Generator Gearbox Main engine Hybrid Mode Hybrid Mode drives the yacht at speeds up to 9 knots. Power is derived purely from the yachts e-motors and generators. Hybrid Mode is beautifully silent, with maximum noise levels in the owner s stateroom reaching just 46 db(a) the sound of softly falling rain. Boxed and insulated generators result in vibration-free cruising, whilst fuel consumption is no more than 70 litres per hour. 10 Home

11 Economic Mode For speeds between 9 and 12 knots, Economic Mode allows you to switch off the generators. Running off the main engines alone, the e-motors supply the hotel load. The e-motors are switched off, with the generators providing power to the hotel load. The main engines drive the yachts propellers. In Cruising Mode, Home achieves speeds between 12 to 15 knots. 12 In a world full of noise, silence is the ultimate luxury Hybrid technology provides fuel efciency and a number of cost-reducing benefts. Always with a vision to enhance life on board to the maximum level, Heesen s hybrid solution ofers much more. Silence is the most signifcant beneft that hybrid technology ofers owners, particularly when cruising in the near-silent Hybrid Mode. Noise levels do not exceed 46 db(a), whilst vibration is drastically reduced to the point of imperceptibility. This combination means peaceful cruising for hours at a time. 12 Home

13 Manoeuvrability is an important aspect of any yacht, particularly during harbour or marina operations. High engine torque at low revolutions per minute (RPM) makes manoeuvring at low speeds and in tight spaces more precise. With an electric motor, it is possible to go from full ahead to full astern instantaneously. Hybrid Mode allows signifcantly easier and more efcient port operations. Fuel-efciency is achieved when the diesel engines and electric motors are combined during cruising. This provides signifcant cost and efciency savings. The most signifcant fuel consumption benefts onboard Home are achieved when cruising in the Hybrid Mode, allowing the yacht to run at no more than 70 litres per hour. This means fewer refuelling stops and more time for cruising. Home 13

14 Interior design Warm & welcoming Home s interior design comes from the drawing boards of Cristiano Gatto. The brief called for a relaxed, welcoming beach club ambience and a fantastic indoor/outdoor connection. Cristiano and his team realised this with the use of natural materials with minimal artifcial treatments. Taking advantage of the full-height windows, Home is fooded with natural light.

17 Main saloon A view to the outdoors The main saloon and full-height windows provide a light and airy environment coupled with extraordinary vistas. Glass sliding doors lead directly to the open aft deck, diminishing the barrier between interior and exterior.

This provides an unrivalled entrance when arriving by tender, and seamless access to the ocean. The generous size of the swim platform is achieved by stowing the tender out of sight in a recessed bay on the foredeck. Today, it is one of the most advanced and well-equipped yacht-building facilities in the world. The shipyard is located in the Dutch city of Oss, 150 kilometres inland and connected to the North Sea by a series of canals and rivers. Its 22,000 square metres of covered area and 2,900 square metres of workshop space ofer everything you need to construct a product as complex as a Heesen yacht. Production capacity has gradually increased with the addition of new docks. In 2016, following the success of the 65-metre Galactica Star and 70-metre Galactica Super Nova, a 90-metre shed and dry dock were completed. These new facilities allow the construction of yachts up to 83 metres entirely in-house / A. B. C. This revolutionary concept, which cuts down development time and costs signifcantly, set new standards when Heesen introduced it in Heesen originally focused on custom yachts only but then expanded its portfolio with the introduction of its 37-metre semi-custom line. At the start of the new millennium, the shipyard faced a rising demand for yachts that required a shorter construction time. Heesen didn t want to compromise on quality so it created a platform based on proven design and tested technology. This reduced the overall investment costs, as well as the overall production time. 37 Semi-custom is the perfect solution for customers who want a proven, cost-effective design Complete customisation The semi-custom proposition has parallels within the automotive industry, where even the most exclusive brands produce in lines rather than designing fully bespoke cars. The overall design and engineering is shared, but consumers have the opportunity to completely customise their car through a range of options to make it their own. The semi-custom lines at Heesen work in the same way, says architect Frank Laupman, but ofer even greater potential for customisation. Clients can decide on an existing hull type and superstructure and then personalise their yacht with their own choice of materials, colour schemes and interior outftting, creating something that is one of a kind. It is always a magical moment when the frst contours of the hull appear and the yacht s design comes to life. Heesen uses aluminium which requires highly skilled and experienced welders and steel to construct. In 2016, the shipyard used approximately 265 tonnes of aluminium and approximately 475 tonnes of steel to build 4 yachts 2 steel and 2 aluminium hulls. Home 39

40 A perfect finish Several layers of epoxy primer are applied to the aluminium and steel surfaces of the yacht, giving the hull and superstructure a smooth fnish and a perfect basis for the paintwork. It takes a trained eye and skilful hands to apply each layer of coating and paint with exactly the right thickness. 40 Home

Interior workshop The shipyard s main interior workshop is situated in Winterswijk, just over an hour s drive from Oss, and provides more than 7,000 square metres of working space.

Here, a large group of craftsmen work on up to fve Heesen projects at the same time. This is where all of the luxury areas such as the atrium, saloon, dining, owner s stateroom and guest suites are created. At the shipyard in Oss, another 30 craftsmen work on the interiors of all the service areas and sky lounges. Rather unusually in this industry, Heesen builds its yacht interiors entirely in-house, which requires every type of machinery and skill on location. This is something that has evolved over the years and we are very proud of it, Jan Rademaker, director of Heesen Interiors, explains, because we have been responsible for many award-winning yacht interiors. Rademakers refers to the acclaimed My Sky, Galactica Star, Elena, Amore Mio and Galactica Super Nova. This requires a lot of talent. It is one reason why Heesen invests heavily in the acquisition of young talent. Home 43

From the instant our skilled team of workers finish building the yacht, she is placed in the caring hands of our After Sales team, who put her to the test in a sea trial and make sure everything works exactly as it should. And from that moment on, our After Sales experts keep watching over the yacht, ensuring she stays in peak condition. Usually, warranty staf get involved a few months before delivery to make sure all parts are in excellent shape when the warranty period begins. Customer Support, on the other hand, provides general 24/7 support to any Heesen client in need, including on location with our fying squad. More recently, the shipyard launched a new service: the annual survey. This thorough periodical check ensures that yachts are signed of every quarter during the warranty period and annually thereafter. This is a mutually benefcial check, guarding the operational reliability as well as our brand image. This shift from reactive towards preventive and eventually predictive maintenance support means an impressive leap forward in customer service for all Heesen owners. Home 49
