CLUB BOAT BOOKING AND USEAGE The Club boats are a great asset to CSC and have given good service over the years for training and to people who want to spend a few months using the boats before committing to purchasing their own. To ensure that they are safe and maintained correctly, the boat fees paid are to enable us to maintain and keep them in the best possible condition. Therefore a new booking out process has been introduced and will be active from Saturday 4 th July NEW PROCESS AS FOLLOWS:- All club boats must be booked out via the laptop based booking system (located next to the signing in ipad; instructions on use below) and the appropriate fee paid at the point of booking and before going out on the water. The fee needs to be placed into a brown envelope with your name, boat identification and date of hire written on the front and then deposited in the boat donations box located to the right of the galley window. If you are attending a training/adults on the water session, a club boat will be allocated to you and booked out in your name, please pay the fee before going out on the water as indicated above. All boats have now been identified with labels on the transoms/ bows ; Toppers start with T, Bahias B, Picos P, Lasers L, Bugs BU, Fevas F and Wayfarer. Each boat has then been allocated a number i.e. (T1, B1, P1, L1, BU1, F1 etc.) The Bahias AND the New Laser can only be taken out with the authority of a committee member NO MODIFICATIONS, ADDITIONS, ADJUSTMENTS TO THE RIGGING OR THE SETTINGS ARE TO BE MADE TO ANY OF THE BOATS. Only people with RYA level 2 Qualifications are allowed to use club boats unsupervised. As a duty of care to members and to safeguard unnecessary damage to the fleet a maximum sailing wind speed of 15 knots (18 mph) is being introduced. A new flag indicator system will be installed on the clubhouse veranda to show the current wind state and interpreted as follows: o Green flag = Wind speed below 14 Knots - OK to sail o Red flag = Wind speed above 15 Knots - No sailing of club boats. o The default colour will be RED. o A member of the committee will consult Windguru on the day for current wind speed information using the Cransley Sailing Club location and change the flag accordingly. o No club boats can be booked out until the flag has been changed to Green. o Conditions will be reviewed AS REQUIRED regularly during the sailing session and may result in boats being called in should the wind increase above the MAX speed.
As safety is paramount please report all damages/loss of equipment via the boat log book located next to the boat donations box. Please also report the damage/loss by ing Loss of equipment due to your negligence will result in your being asked to pay for the replacement of the lost item/s. PLEASE ENSURE ALL DAMAGES OR ISSUES ARE REPORTED TO ENSURE SAFETY. AFTER USE:- All boats should be washed down. There is a hose available on the jetty AND BUCKETS, SPONGES AND POLISH / SOAP AVAILABLE IN THE R.H. CONTAINER JUST INSIDE THE DOOR. All foils, sails, buoyancy aids and other associated equipment must be placed, fully complete, back in the appropriate container / storeroom. All boats are to be left in a neat and tidy condition; all lines and sheets should be neatly coiled and stowed. The correct cover is to be placed on the correct boat and all straps tightened. All boats need to be parked neatly on the foreshore. Remember, you will be frustrated if you find a boat in poor condition, so please help us to maintain the fleet by following the instructions above. ALL THE CSC BOATS ARE MAINTAINED ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS BY CLUB MEMBERS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT. PLEASE USE THESE BOATS AND LOOK AFTER THEM AS IF THEY WERE YOUR OWN!!!!
HOW TO USE THE CSC BOAT BOOKING SYSTEM 1. Click on the arrow highlighted below Using a mouse or your finger, move the slider highlighted in RED below the until you find your name then double click. This will place your name automatically in the name box highlighted in BLUE.
Using the same method as above, highlight the Boat selection box, scroll to find the boat you wish to use, highlight and double click to put the selcted boat into the box Highlighted below Using the same method again, select yes or no on the donation paid box and select in the same way as before.
Finally press SUBMIT The screen will change and after a few seconds it will return to the home screen having stored the information and changed your baot selection from GREEN to RED as highlighted below IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT! PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO PAY YOUR FEE; APPROPRIATE FEE IN A BROWN ENVELOPE WITH YOUR NAME, BOAT AND DATE WRITTEN ON IT AND PLACED IN THE BROWN BOAT FEE BOX NEXT TO THE GALLEY WINDOW If you need any assistance please ask a committee member to help you. committee@cransleysc@gmail.com
