6 WRITING RULES The relative pronouns for Dual and for plural feminine are written لام in the Qur aanic script with one Ï 9$# ÉL 9$# È ø s%!$# But in the standard Arabic they are written with two Èβ#s%!$# - اللا ت ي الل ذ ي ن- الل ذان - اللا ي ي Important comments 1- The relative pronoun is called in Arabic a "conjunctive noun". الا س م ال م و ص و ل 2- The relative pronoun is followed by a sentence called ج م لة الص لة, this لا م ح ل ل ها من الا ع ارب sentence has no position in analysis م ؤ م ن ي ص ل ي ال ذي Ex. And as for women past child-bearing who do not expect wed-lock, it is no sin on them if they discard their (outer) clothing in such a way as not to show their adornment. But to refrain (i.e. not to discard their outer clothing) is better for them. And surely, Allaah is All-Hearer, All- Knower. And thus do We requite him who transgresses (beyond bounds), and believes not in the Ayaat of his Lord; and the torment of the Hereafter is far more severe and more lasting. "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! So how bold they are (for evil deeds which will push them) to the Fire.
