To get to the island of Green Turtle, you must fly to the nearest island with an airport since Green Turtle is too small to accommodate one. The closest (and only) airports that are costeffective to fly into are the TREASURE CAY AIPRORT or MARSH HARBOR AIRPORT (Located on Abaco Island) ii. On the next page you will find the three main airlines that can get you from Fort Lauderdale International Airport to Treasure Cay/Marsh Harbor

Conveniently located in Terminal 1 of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood international airport. Great new airline! ii NOTES: a. Friendly & reliable and probably the best airline for this area of the Bahamas. However, they do not have flights at certain times and they are often not the cheapest but make up for it in quality of service. b. You can skip the hassle and do not have to take off out of the main airport. They have their own terminal at the Jet center at Fort Lauderdale International Airport iii NOTES: a. Most reliable flight schedule. Larger planes prevent weather delays. b. Usually more expensive c. Takes off from main terminal at Fort Lauderdale International Airport d. Can be booked through Continental Connection on orbitz or kayak websites. c. I LANDED NOW WHAT? i. TAXI 1. FROM TREASURE CAY AIRPORT a. You will need to take a taxi from the airport to the Green Turtle Ferry Dock i. The cost is about $10 per person ii. Do not be alarmed if the native children at the ferry dock grab your bags. They are merely helping get your bags to the lower dock 1. Please tip the children who help you $1 or so 2. FROM MARSH HARBOR AIRPORT a. You will need to take a taxi from the airport to the Green Turtle Ferry Dock i. The cost is about $80 flat fee 1. IT IS FAR ii. Do not be alarmed if the native children at the ferry dock grab your bags. They are merely helping get your bags to the lower dock 1. Please tip the children who help you $1 or so ii. FERRY (after the taxi ride) 1. You must wait for the Green Turtle Ferry (the only ferry that runs from this dock) 2. It is about $11 per person to cross over to Green Turtle

3 d. WHERE DO I GO? i. You will tell the Ferry captain that you need to be dropped off at the Bluff House Docks 1. They will know exactly where this is. ii. Once you have docked, walk off of the dock and walk straight up the road that goes UP the hill. (A mildly steep 500ft walk.) Bluff House Dock Hummingbird iii. Once you reach the end of the paved path, you will be standing in front of the main Bluff House building. You must turn right and continue up the craggly rock path and follow it around the back of the facility and then follow the road to the right again down a path. 1. The Hummingbird Treehouse is the first house (YELLOW) on the left. 2. We have alerted our property manager on the island and the key will be waiting for you on the lip above the main sliding glass door. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Conserve water (water in the house is a rain water sistern with a backup desalinator but in droughts water can run low) 3. USE VHF RADIO in hallway for communication. (ALL rental companies are on Channel 16) --To turn on the radio you must turn on the black transformer above the door in the master bedroom. (red switch) --Then switch on the receiver itself

4 2. HOW DO I GET AROUND? a. RENT A BOAT i. The boat is the best way to get around the island for people who are mildly experienced in handling small boats. Donny s Boat Rentals (242) (or on VHF Radio channel 16) 3. NOTES: a. Cheapest boats. b. Not always super reliable iv. Sunset Marine & Boat Rentals NOTES: a. I have not used them before but have heard good things BOATING TIPS: Keep your VHF radio on Channel 16. That is what everyone uses for communicating over there. Hail whoever you re trying to reach on 16. If it s a bigger boat than a Boston Whaler, raise the motor out of the water or at least a decent amount when docking in case tides go out. Always dock with bow tied to dock and rear anchor holding the boat perpendicular to dock. People don t like when you waste dock space by parallel docking. b. RENT A Golf Cart i. The golf cart is the easiest way to get around if you are not boat experienced or just want to explore this island. The list below is of local cart rental companies: ii. Make sure you stay 2 hundred yards offshore when going around this end of the island every once in a while check for water depths. Sun-downers Bar
