2 INTRODUCTION The FRSQ 1000 A WSV is designed built and equipped according the highest standards. The use of the FRSQ 1000 A WSV is built to be used offshore in de most demanding environments. The strength of the hull and superstructure is sufficient to withstand all normal forces encountered under normal use offshore at maximum boat speed. The hull is built of marine aluminum and is of a fully planning type with a deep V-bottom construction, suitable for high speeds. The superstructure is made of sea water resistant aluminium construction. The superstructure provides shelter and seating for a crew and survivors. On the cabin a lifting point is situated with an Anti Pendulem (AP) counter foundation. So this can work with davits equipped with an AP head. The Exhaust pipes are protected against water to come into the engines. Also an alarm sensor is fitted to measure to high temperatures, according regulations. HULL CONSTRUCTION The hull of the FRSQ 1000 A WSV is fully welded of profiles and plates in marine aluminum, by certified welders. The hull is stiffened by a system of longitudinal bulkheads and transversal stiffeners. On the outside of the hull there are four spray rails running in the whole bottom length, two on each side of the keel. The keel is made of a special aluminum profile which adds extra strength to the hull construction. The hull is protected against corrosion by anodes. WORKING DECK The complete flat working deck is self-bailing through draining flaps in the transom. The deck can be configured in such a way that the loading area can hold the load indicated by our client. Two bollards are fitted on the aft deck of the boat. The complete deck is painted with anti-skid type deck. STRUCTURE The superstructure of this craft is made of aluminium sea water resistant construction. The superstructure has sufficient buoyancy to make the boat self-righting. This aided by the self-righting wheelhouse. All windows have sufficient strength and the three front windows are equipped with wipers and fresh water screen wash system. The windows are made out of safety glass. The entrance door is of a watertight construction and placed in center aft. The dashboard is placed in front of the captain on starboard side forward and the navigators place is on port side. All engine instruments are placed logically in front of the captain and all manoeuvring controls can easily be reached. The hull below deck is dived into multiple watertight compartments. 3

4 WHEELHOUSE The main cabin provides seating for 8 and 3 of them positioned on shock absorbing high quality seats with arm rests. The seats can also be used as two bunks. Under the seats there is storage place for equipment. Access to front deck is via the front hatch equipped with a window. HEATING An air heater is installed in the wheelhouse to heat up the cabin, and also to defrost the front windows. STEERING The steering system is a manual hydraulic system with a manual helm pump fitted behind the wheel. For the throttle lever and control of the waterjet buckets Kobelt levers will be used. FRESH WATER SYSTEM The FRSQ 1000 A WSV will be installed with fresh water system for wind screen wash system and the sink. A 35 liter water tank for wash basin with filler, vent and outlet connections is installed. A 12V DC water pump is installed as well. The water tank for the screen washer has a capacity of 20 liters. PROTECTIVE FENDER Stability and impact absorption are provided by a heavy duty, mechanically attached flexible closed cell foam collar offering minimal service and maintenance costs. The craft is fitted with a strong protective fender made of special Polyethylene foam and covered with 4 mm Polyurea. The protective fender will effectively deaden all hard impacts without creating a reactive force. The waterjets are protected by an aluminium frame fitted on the transom. LIFTING ARRANGEMENT / PAINTER RELEASE The lifting arrangement is equipped with an 8 T Henriksen stainless steel approved offload type release hook. In the bow there is installed a 2.5 T Henriksen release hook for release of the bowline after the craft is waterborne and released from the davit wire. INSPECTION HATCHES Over the engines there is one big hatch. This hatch can be opened to do service on the engines. The hatch is so arranged that in case of major engine maintenance the engines can be easily lifted out of the engine compartment. FUEL TANKS Fuel tanks made of marine aluminum are placed under deck. Capacity is approx. 460 litres (230L each). The fuel tanks are equipped with inspection hatch on top and supply and ventilation is arranged according to regulations. The fuel tanks are tested to 0,2 kg/cm2 and equipped with a fuel gauge. Fuel filling can be done from the aft of the superstructure. The fuel system is equipped with two redundant Separ fuel filters which are mounted in the engine compartment. 4

5 BILGE SYSTEM The hull is equipped with three electric and two manual bilge pump. Both bilges are arranged to drain aft via the transom. ELECTRIC SYSTEM The craft is fitted with a 12 volt electric system. All equipment and wiring to be of an accepted marine standard. Two heavy duty maintenance free start batteries each are installed. All the electric equipment is protected by fuses with automatic reset. For battery charging the craft must be connected to the mother vessels/platform 42 V electric supply. BATTERY CHARGER Two battery chargers are installed to keep the batteries in condition when the craft is connected to the mother vessels electric power supply. NAVIGATION LIGHTS LED navigation lights are fitted according to international standard for this size of craft and Colregs regulations 23. Navigation light control buttons are fitted on the switch panel on the dashboard in the wheelhouse. SEARCH- AND WORKING-LIGHTS One manually remote controlled LED search light is fitted to the wheelhouse roof. Two seal beam, portable 50 watt halogen search lights with flexible cable are delivered. On the wheelhouse roof three working lights are installed, two on the aft and one on the front. SIGN WRITING The name of the vessel and the call signs will be fitted at the wheelhouse and transom if requested. MAPPLOTTER One 9 inch map plotter is installed of type Raymarine C90W (or equal) coupled to a GPS antenna type Raystar 125 GPS/SD. RADAR One Raymarine radardome is be fitted type Radome RD418D VHF Two marine VHF type Raymarine RAY240E (or equal) are installed. SIGNAL HORN One fixed signal horn is fitted on the roof of the wheelhouse. MAGNETIC COMPASS One magnetic compass is installed in front of the coxswain. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS The engine room is equipped with CO2 fire extinguishing system. The engine room is also equipped with heat sensors which will give signal to an alarm inside the cabin in case of fire. Emergency shutdown of engines and fuel shut down is manually done from the wheel house. Two 6 kg hand operated dry powder fire extinguishers are installed inside the wheel house. TOWING ARRANGEMENT Two strongpoints are located just aft of the engine hatch. Client should indicate required towing force in order to determine size of bollard. 5

6 PAINTING The hull is first sandblasted and painted with three layers of two component of paint. If there is no special request from the customer, the superstructure and hull will be painted orange. OPTIONS The following text indicates several options which can be provided however this is only a small amount of options we have summarized. Other options can be supplied on client request. EXTERNAL CONTROLS As an option the craft can be equipped with external controls for steering and throttle/bucket control on the aft bulkhead of the superstructure, on starboard side of the entrance door. OTHER OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT Airconditioning. A fixed watertight communication sets are available integrated into the dashboard. Personal protection. Combined work/survival suits with 275N inflatable lifejacket, protective goggles and helmet with integrated communication are available. Seating arrangement. Other type of engine can be delivered. Basket Stretcher. Search And Rescue Transponder (SART) 2x 350 Liter fuel tanks. Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) MOB system (personal locater beacon with tracking unit) Lifeboat distress kit. Other types of boat fender can be discussed. 6
