4 FLOAT ON/FLOAT OFF Float on/float off (Flo/Flo) transport uses semisubmergible vessels which lower their well deck by filling their ballast tanks with water. Yachts enter the vessel on their own keel and are positioned on a cradle. After the vessel pumps out the water, the well deck is lifted into its normal position and the yacht is positioned onto the cradle. Flo/Flo is suitable for very heavy super yachts. LIFT ON/LIFT OFF Lift on/lift off (Lo/Lo) transport is when yachts are transported on deck of a vessel. Yachts are lifted and placed on deck using the vessel s own cranes and then secured on a cradle. Lo/Lo is suitable for yachts greater than 60 ft.

5 OOG FLATRACK Out of Gauge describes cargo loaded on a folded container platform called a Flat rack. This allows yachts and boats to be transported with general container liner services. This method of transport can be very cost effective and allows for weekly departures to several worldwide destinations. OOG is suitable for motorboats, yachts and sailing boats up to 45 ft. BREAK BULK Break Bulk shipments describe cargo that is transported using container and break bulk liner services. Vessels with a fixed schedule load boats on platforms between the rows of containers, or directly on deck. B/B is suitable for boats and yachts between 40 and 70 ft.

6 ROLL ON/ROLL OFF Roll on/roll off vessels have built-in ramps that allow for cargo to be rolled on and off the vessel when in port. Boats which are on trailers can be loaded efficiently on these vessels. Ro/Ro is suitable for boats and yachts up to 60 ft in length. CONTAINER Containers are another cost effective and efficient method of transport. Container lines offer fast transit time and weekly departures on most trades. Special loading gear is used to place boats inside containers in the best possible position. Each container can take one boat up to 40/45 ft in length and maximum 8 6 beam or up to 4 boats each with a maximum of 20 ft in length and a beam under 8 ft.

7 SHRINK-WRAP To avoid undue damages from strong winds, waves or dirt while at sea, it is sometimes recommended to shrink-wrap your boat/yacht. Shrink-wrap can also be used during land transport and storage. Air outlets can be built in to control humidity and zippers installed for easy access to your boat/yacht. The shrink wrap is then easily removed. CRADLE A cradle is necessary to secure a yacht or boat on board a vessel or on land. Specific cradles are used for transport which can withstand conditions at sea. GBS provides cradles that can be assembled and custom fitted to your yacht or boat. CUSTOMS Each country has its own laws governing import and export. These rules apply to the transport of yachts and boats between countries. These formalities, if not handled correctly, can lead to complications for owners. This service can be included in the service package or a referral can be made to a customs agent. INSURANCE Moving a boat or yacht outside its element has inherent risks. GBS recommends having insurance in the event of unforeseen damages that may have been caused during transport. GBS offers a comprehensive insurance package for your needs. STORAGE Aside from your boat or yacht, GBS can also store cradles, trailers and all other materials that come with your boat. All warehouses are secured 24/7. SKIPPER GBS can arrange experienced skippers who can move your boat/yacht to and from the vessel. Skippers have valid licenses and are insured.
