A towing bitt is on centerline aft and a rescue davit and dive tank mounts are to starboard. The cabin is entered from a weathertight door on centerline. A small enclosed head is to starboard with portable toilet and a galley counter is to port. Forward and down a step are jump seats port and starboard and forward still is the helm seat to starboard and spotter s seat to port. Sliding doors open out to the side decks port and starboard. Down forward are a settee/berth each port and starboard and a weathertight door leading up to the forward well deck. A large foredeck locker is all the way forward. The cabin tops are equipped with handrails, lights, and the radar array. GENERAL: Safeboats are found used by the military, police, and harbormasters the world over. This vessel was specifically designed and built for use as a harbor patrol boat for the Port of Los Angeles. The deep V bottom (22 degree deadrise) should make it comfortable in a chop and the soft collar will add stability at rest or towing speeds. The collar also serves as an all-around fender and the low freeboard provides easy access over the rail.

5 MARINE SURVEY REPORT # Continued: Page 5 of 7 INSPECTION: The hull and deck were sounded from the exterior while hauled and the entire vessel was visually inspected inside and out. The vessel was inspected for compliance with U.S.C.G., N.F.P.A., and A.B.Y.C. standards (violations as listed in Category B below). The engines were operated during the course of this inspection. An electronic thickness test (audio gauge) was made of the hull (See attached file No. #U3661). CONDITION: General condition was found above average for a vessel of this age. Many maintenance items were found recently restored to high standards. Only surface corrosion of the aluminum and worn non-skid patches detract from cosmetics. Engines and gears were run (at Sea Trial) during the course of this inspection and appeared to operate well. The engines were reportedly rebuilt in 2010 and appeared so. Very low hours show on the meters (near 400) since that time. The engine compartment was found clean and neat. Hamilton jet drives were completely reconditioned during the course of our inspection in May Hull deemed fully sound and in seaworthy condition? Yes Vessel deemed an insurable risk? 6 MARINE SURVEY REPORT # Continued: Page 6 of 7 FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: A) Violations of structure, seaworthiness, or watertight integrity: 1) (none) B) Violations of U.S.C.G., N.F.P.A., A.B.Y.C., and/or other safety standards: 1) A stern light was found in inventory though not mounted. Mount in compliance with USCG and international navigation standards. 2) Certify and tag current the fire extinguishers annually. 3) Provide a set of tapered soft wood damage control plugs and carry ready near each through hull. 4) Provide a CO detector and mount in the sleeping compartment. C) Other findings and recommendations: 1) Coral worm deposits were found inside the jet drives which may reduce efficiency. 2) A steering compass was found in inventory though not mounted. 3) Mount, swing ship, and provide a deviation card. D) Findings made during Sea Trial: 1) Engines started easily. Very little smoke was seen at startup which dissipated quickly. 2) Engines were pressed to full throttle for two minutes with no ill effects. Temperatures came up 181 from their normal of 172 degrees F which are both well within operating range. 3) Shifting and steering responded to commands well. Shifting was quiet. P.O Box 41283, Long Beach, CA (310) File No.: U3661 Dated: December 12, 2016 VESSEL: (no name) Safeboat 36 OFFICIAL No.: CF 0148 ZE The undersigned did attend the subject vessel this date at the request of UNOPS for the purpose of performing an ultrasonic thickness test of the bottom plating. Readings were taken on a 3 grid starting at 2 above the working waterline and 6 aft of the stem. The following table gives thickness reading in inches. Nominal thickness if the bottom plate is (5/16 ). Readings listed in italics are in the topside plating (above the chine) which is (1/4 ). Readings shown begin from the bow with station #1 (ST) and read accross as required by waterlines. Note that the Rand Digiwork UT-M1 used takes readings through the bottom paint. No removal of the covering to metal in test spots was required. For a vessel of this age and scantling, structural failure and need for replacement or doubling should occur at 15% loss (.2656 and.2125). No such readings were found. No attention is necessary.
