Time flies... We are alredy in December and each and everyone of you are probably very busy both at work and at home. Things to arrange, cookies to bake, people to meet, meetings to attend.

It s a bit early, but as we started with the words time flies we also like to send you greatings for a lovely Christmas holiday and a sparkling New Year.

We like to take the opportynity to send one big THANK YOU to all of you attending the Sorbact Conference in September and another THANK YOU for the year It s a bit early, but as we started with the words time flies we also like to send you greatings for a lovely Christmas holiday and a sparkling New Year. Anders concludes this year s Sorbact conference At this year s Sorbact conference we presented a lot of news and had the opportunity to listen to some of the world leading wound healing experts like Malin Malmsjö, Luc Teot, Jack Fisher, Magnus Löndahl and Dr Muhammad among others. The plans for 2012 Sorbact conference has already started and if you have ideas of what you would like to add to the schedule don t hesitate to contact us. One of the bigger news on this year s conference was the new Sorbact branding. The first goal in this project is to implement the new packaging layout. Next week our advertising agency will start to work on the individual layout for the packaging. When that is done we will send it out to all of you to have a look, sometime in January Next phase is to start production implementation, we are now making plans for this and will give you more information in the next newsletter. Regarding brochure and communication platform this will be sent out in the first quarter of The first big public release of the new concept will be at EWMA in Vienna, May

2 ABIGO s product Otovent is a front-line alternative for the treatment of negative pressure in the middle ear in children and adults. Regulation of the pressure in the middle ear is known as an important mechanism in the treatment of disorders of the middle ear in children. Normally, the pressure in the middle ear is equalized by swallowoing or yawning. If the mechanisms for regulating negative pressure are not wholly effective, negative pressure in the middle ear occurs due to collection and absorption of the air in the membranous lining of the middle ear. After a number of weeks gluey secretions develop, filling the middle ear (glue ear) and leading to hearing impairment. Untreated it may lead to deterioration in the elasticity of the eardrum, which may lead to chronic disorders of the middle ear in the future. The Otovent-method is a well proven first-line treatment in attempting to avoid surgical intervention with the insertion of a plastic grommet in the eardrum. Below: article sent in from Meilleur Co., Ltd. our distributor of Otovent in Japan The promotion of the benefit of Otovent, at the annual meeting of the Japanese Association for Safety Sports Diving in Japan. On 12th of Nov. 2011, the annual meeting of the Japanese Association for Safety Dive was held with support from 4 dive organizations of Japan at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Tokyo. There were about 100 attendees including doctors, instructors, and divers. At the meeting 4 doctors who have sufficient knowledge about submarine medicine gave lectures. Dr. Hitoshi Miho made a presentation about the benefits of Otovent for improvement of poor clearing ears during diving through his lecture. According to Dr. Miho, after examining about 6000 divers who had poor clearing ears, 90 % of them blew out their ears in wrong ways, and they were categorized in either one of following three types. First, clearing ears with not enough pressure, that mostly happened to women. Second, clearing ears with too much pressure in a moment, for not enough time, mostly happened to men. Third, to stop clearing ears before Eustachian tube gets open completely. 2

Miho is very eager to promote the method, not only to his patients but also to doctors who examine patients suffering from problems from dive, as you can see that he made lecture on the annual

Dr. Miho and we, Meilleur, cooperate with each other to promote Otovent for divers to learn and practice the correct way to clear ears, and not to mention that Dr. Miho is very eager to promote the method, not only to his patients but also to doctors who examine patients suffering from problems from dive, as you can see that he made lecture on the annual meeting of ORL society of Japan, 2010, when Dr. Stangerup visited Japan. In the end, we gave free sample 1x1 Otovent to all attendees, and 1x5 Otovent to 10 people randomly, who won a lottery. Both attendees and organizers were very happy and welcomed that we joined the meeting. At the end of the meeting, we got the opportunity to demonstrate how to use Otovent, and the meeting successfully ended with much interest in Otovent from all attendees. As from 1st of January 2012, Dr Ulf Rönner will join us on a fulltime basis, coordinating product development R&D, advanced wound care.
