4 EXPANSION VESSELS EG-M expansion vessel EGZ-M additional vessel EG expansion vessels and EGZ additional vessels are designed for pressureless storage of the expansion volume. The built-in, high quality membrane cares for consequent separation of the plant system and the atmosphere. EG expansion vessels are equipped with a differential pressure measurement, so that the vessel level can be read off at the multicontrol control unit at any time. 6 EXPANSION VESSELS MCB-Z additional vessel multicontrol MCB-Z additional vessels serve as extension of the expansion volume in combination with the multicontrol kompakt MCK expansionand pressure maintenance device. The expansion volume is stored within a vessel pressureless, a high-quality membrane cares for the consequent separation of the plant system from the atmosphere. MCC-G expansion vessel MCC-Z additional vessel multicontrol cool MCC-G expansion vessels are used for taking in the expansion volume in combination with multicontrol cool MCC control devices. The expansion volume is stored pressureless, a high-quality membrane cares for the consequent separation of the system and the atmosphere. The included differential pressure measurement enables to see the vessel level at the control unit anytime. MCC-Z additional vessels serve as extension of the expansion volume in combination with MCC-G expansion vessels and are built without differential pressure measurement. Due to design and the usage of corrosion resistant materials in areas with expectable condensation, MCC-G expansion vessels and MCC-Z additional vessels are suitable for the use in cold water systems. 6

10 MAKE-UP / DEGASSING MCA multicontrol autofill Losses in the system are mostly unavoidable. To ensure a smooth operation refilling from time to time is necessary. Especially in cold water systems, solar systems etc. a special media mixture is used whereby a simple refill of fresh water is not possible. multicontrol autofill solo MCA-S for automatic, amount controlled make-up of special media offers the possibility to store a certain amount media mixture in a storage tank (e.g. multicontrol autofill MCA-G) and to refill it into the system as required. collecting pipe connection for medium recirculation connection for circulation pipe make-up pipe vessel pressure transmitter temperature sensor to measure medium temperature Make-Up can be carried out either directly into systems with membrane expansion vessel (pressure controlled) or into pressure maintenance systems (level controlled = contact controlled). Furthermore a circulation funtion is included, that offers the possibility to mix longer stored medium to antagonise settling out different media components caused by longer storage. For safety of financial reasons it can additionally be necessary to prevent a leakage of the particular system medium (e.g. via safety valves,...) and collect it again. 11 EXPANSION MODULES / REMOTE CONTROL multicontrol expansion modules analog signalling The multicontrol expansion module analog signalling (item no ) provides two analog standard signals (4-20 ma) for remote monitoring of for usage at a higher ranking building management system. 12 EXPANSION MODULES / REMOTE CONTROL multicontrol bus modules The multicontrol bus modules are designed to connect multicontrol and topcontrol series devices to a building management system. They allow an extensive data exchange between pressurisation resp. make-up device and the corresponding remote station. Available versions: multicontrol bus module Profibus (item no ) Profibus standard DP-V0 multicontrol bus module Modbus RTU RS485 (item no ) multicontrol bus module Profinet (item no ) Profinet IO-Device The bus modules can easily be retrofitted at any time *. * It s not possible to use with multicontrol SMS module, multicontrol web module or ASCII logger at the same time, software update to version V1.21 or higher necessary. multicontrol SMS module The multicontrol SMS module (item no ) is designed for monitoring and controlling a multicontrol resp. topcontrol device via GSM mobile networks. Immediately after the fault and warning messages occur, they are sent via SMS to 5 phone numbers. With a short and free call ** detailed information and operating status can be inquired. Furthermore operations can be triggered, operation modules controlled and error and warning messages acknowledged. works with all well established net operators ( no SIM-Lock, GSM900, GSM1800) compatible with post-paid as well as well as prepaid SIM cards *** We recommend the multicontrol SMS module for multicontrol devices, which are not monitored or controlled by a building management system. 13 GENERAL ACCESSORY multicontrol web module The multicontrol web module (item no ) is designed for monitoring of MCK, MCM, TCM, MCC and PCK series devices. After integration into a network via standard Ethernet cable connection and/or WLAN a simple monitoring of the pressurisation unit is made possible. Only a web browser is required on the device from which the pressurisation unit is monitored. It s not possible to interfere with the operation of the pressurisaton unit. Notification, fault and warning messages are send immediately after their occurence via . If desired, the can be sent to several recipients. The web module can easily be retrofitted to a multicontrol resp. topcontrol device at any time *. * It s not possible to use with multicontrol SMS module, multicontrol bus module or ASCII-Logger at the same time, software update to version V1.23 of higher necessary. multicontrol metal housing The multicontrol metal housing can be used instead of the ex-work mounted synthetic housing. It is designed of a coated steel plate with recessed grips at the sides and snap fits. multicontrol temperature sensor The temperature sensor monitors the temperature in the system return resp. in the expansion pipe. By means of this monitoring the degassing function can be locked to protect the pressure maintenance system and to avoid damage by incorrect temperatures of the system medium. contact temperature sensor Implementation as contact temperature sensor with strap (Ø mm), sensor element type KTY10-6 or compatible. temperature sensor with cable Implementation as temperature sensor, with 10 m cable, immersion sleeve G1/2 PN 10, sensor element KTY10-6 or compatible. 13

14 WATER TREATMENT MWE / R-MWE module water softening make-up water Depending on the system size and the total hardness of the filling- resp. makeup water, the make-up water must be softened according to standard ÖNORM H to prevent stone-building. For this purpose the module water softening make-up (MWE) can be combined with multicontrol make-up modules. Make-up water passes the ion exchange resin, whereby the hardeners of the water, calcium and magnesium are replaced by the harmless and water-soluble sodium. Make-up amount in the pressure maintenance system is monitored continuously and in case of exhausted capacity of the softening cartridge the operator is automatically requested to exchange the cartridge. R-MWE 28 (module water softening make-up water, regenerating) is a fully automatic water softening device with microprocessor control. The ionic resin is automatically regenerated, depending on the actual water consumption. MVE module water demineralisation make-up water In contrast to water softening, where hardness components in the water are changed, during demineralisation all minerals are removed from the filling resp. make-up water. For filling water demineralisation the module demineralisation make-up water (MVE) can be combined with multicontrol make-up modules. The make-up water passes through a resign bed, whereby the positive and negative ions of the water are bartered for hydrogen and hydroxide. This way pure water without impurities is generated. The make-up amount is permanently controlled and the operator is requested to change the demineralisation cartridge in case of depleted cartridge. 15 CONNECTION ACCESSORY EDER backflow preventer Backflow preventers serve to protect drinking water from contamination caused by back pressure, back flow of back suction of the system medium (make-up). Our backflow preventer is construction type BA. It is DVGW proved and licensed for fuels up to and incl. hazard class 4. optimum protection of the drinking water system input sided strainer ( mesh side 180 µ m) is scope of delivery low maintenance requirements, the cartridge is exchanged as a whole Backflow preventers type BA are divided into three pressure zones. The pressure in zone 1 is higher than in zone 2 and this is higher than in zone 3. The drain valve in zone 2 latest opens at a pressure difference between zone 1 and zone 2 of 0.14 bar. Water of zone 2 flows out to the open, whereby backflow of back suction to the drinking water system is impossible. 16 CONNECTION ACCESSORY multicontrol kompakt bypass set The multicontrol kompakt bypass set (item no ) is provided to be used with multicontrol devices (MCK, MCM-_1) without automatic low pressure degassing function. Integration into the system takes place with one pipe into the system return. Furthermore it is recommended to use the bypass set for services to set the pressure without connection to the system. 19 GENERAL ACCESSORY Collecting pan Collecting pans are especially designed for systems with expected condensation of special system media. In cold water systems the occuring condensate is collected within this pan. Using special media* like frost protection mixtures it can be necessary to collect possible matured medium (e.g. during maintenance) to avoid contact with the floor. collecting pans are produced of HDPE (high density polyethylen) and have a discharge hopper incl. siphon.
