6 1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION A semi-submersible, multi-service vessel with a CEGELEC DPS 902 fully redundant dynamically positioning system designed to work in harsh water environment while conducting year round operations in close proximity to platforms. The saturation diving complex supports around the clock, split level diving operations to 304.8msw. The built-in work class ROV provides support to 2, meters. A 150 tonne capacity derrick with a heave compensated top drive system and a spacious heli-deck are prominent features. The main deck has an exceptionally large working area which can handle special project deck-loads of 400 tonnes. Operations are assisted by two 100 tonne cranes on the port side. Other prominent features are: Offshore construction and well service capability. Saturation diving capability to 300msw. Surface diving capability to 53msw. ROV support (work class). ADS (atmospheric diving suit) support. Risers, spool piece and jumper installations. Pipeline abandonment. Various other offshore construction, installation, and inspection requirements. 7 2 DYNAMIC POSITIONING SYSTEM/MAIN PROPULSION AND THRUSTERS 2.1 DYNAMIC POSITIONING SYSTEM CEGELEC DPS 902 Duplex DP system. Consisting of two process computers interfaced with eight Mar-El/Kamewa propulsion systems. Joystick control available from main operator s console and one portable joystick. 2.2 REFERENCE SYSTEMS 3 x Trimble DSM 232 DGPS units with UPS back up. 1 x Artemis MK4, complete with intrinsically safe fixed station and independent UPS. 1 x Sonardyne acoustic system with ROV tracking. 1 x Fugro Winfrog tracking and mapping system. 1 x Bandak Taut wire. 2 x MDL Fan beams. DGPS 1 and acoustics are interfaced with the Racal Winfrog, a PC based navigation system primarily used for survey data acquisition and chart production. 2.3 MAIN PROPULSION AND THRUSTERS Self- propelled, dynamically positioned two 3,000hp stern thrusters, six 1,000hp transverse thrusters. 16 11 DIVING SYSTEM (SATURATION AND SURFACE) 11.1 SATURATION DIVING CHAMBERS Chamber 1 Diameter : 2230mm Length : 4000mm Volume : 13.65m 3 Designated as a decompression chamber there are facilities for four-(4) divers. The chamber is equipped with an emergency CO2 scrubbing unit together with standby heating and cooling, also a built in breathing system with five-(5) masks. A 200mm x 600mm medical lock with safety interlock is fitted to the chamber. Access trunking to a hyperbaric lifeboat is through this chamber Chamber 2 Diameter : 2237mm Length : 4000mm Volume : m 3 Designated as a sleeping/living chamber there are facilities for four-(4) divers. The chamber is equipped with an emergency CO2 scrubbing unit together with standby heating and cooling, also a built in breathing system with five-(5) masks. A 200mm x 600mm medical lock with safety interlock is fitted to the chamber Chamber 3 Diameter : 2236mm Length : 5326mm Volume : 19.9 m 3 This chamber is of a dual lock design, the main lock is designated as a living/sleeping chamber with facilities for four divers. The living chamber is equipped with an emergency CO2 scrubbing unit together with standby heating and cooling, also a built in breathing system with five- (5) masks. A 200mm x 600mm medical lock with safety interlock is fitted to the main lock. The second lock is the entrance lock to the diving bell and also provides sanitary facilities for the main lock and chamber 4. There is an emergency CO2 scrubbing unit and a built in breathing system with five-(5) masks. Sanitary facilities include a shower, sink and toilet with hot and cold water supplies Chamber 4 Diameter : 2238mm Length : 4000mm Volume : m 3 Designated as a sleeping/living chamber there are facilities for four-(4) divers. The chamber is equipped with an emergency CO2 scrubbing unit together with standby heating and cooling, also a built in breathing system with five-(5) masks. A 200mm x 600mm medical lock and 600mm x 805mm equipment lock both with safety interlocks are fitted to the chamber. 17 Wet-pot Diameter : 1935mm Length : 3000mm Volume : 7.2 m 3 This chamber provides sanitary facilities for Chambers 2 and 3 with access trunking to Chamber 1. The sanitary facilities include a shower, sink and toilet with hot and cold water supplies. The chamber is equipped with an emergency CO2 scrubbing unit and built in breathing system with five-(5) masks. A 600mm x 805mm equipment lock with safety interlock is fitted to the chamber Smartie Diameter : 1900mm Length : 940mm Volume : 3.29 m 3 This saucer style chamber provides sanitary facilities to Chamber 1. It is fitted with a shower, sink and toilet with hot and cold water supplies. A sound powered telephone is fitted as a secondary communication device. The chamber is fitted with a built in breathing system with three-(3) masks Hyperbaric Lifeboat Sixteen (16) man COMEX chamber installed in a Harding GRP fireproof lifeboat. Length : 8.5m Draught : 1.24m Speed : 5 knots Fuel : 200 liter Range : 96 nautical miles Engine : Lister STW3 with Hurta HB100 GB The lifeboat is situated on the portside of the main deck forward of the aft crane and is connected to the diving complex via a vertical man-way to Chamber 1. The chamber is monitored from a dedicated panel in saturation control. Hose whips with quick disconnect ends; allow pressurization and exhausting of the HRL chamber from sat control. The chamber is fitted with three CO2 scrubbers and two heating and cooling units. Electrical power is supplied from the engine driven alternator and a 240 ampere hour s battery backup. The lifeboat is fitted with equipment as per SOLAS A Pack, e.g. food, tools, radio, pyrotechnics, water and medical supplies Hyperbaric Lifeboat Onboard Gas: 3 x 50 liter, 200 bar cylinder for Oxygen; 1 x 50 liter, 200 bar cylinder for HeO2, diving mix; 2 x 50 liter, 200 bar cylinders for Air Diving Bell Diameter : 1900mm Height : 3100mm Weight of bell : 6.9 tonnes Drop weight : 2.72 tonnes It is the responsibility of the user to confirm the latest version of this document residing within the Marine Document Library. 18 The diving bell was designed by Mara Engineering and is rated at 300msw. The bell has a 600mm side hatch and a 700mm bottom hatch. The bell mates to the trunking via the side hatch. There are nine 220mm view ports of which one is utilized for the internal observation camera. External lighting is provided by three Deep Sea Power and Light Multi-Sea Lights each rated at 120 volts, 250 watts. These are mounted to port and starboard each producing 4,750 lumens. Three-(3) ground fault interrupters monitor topside power to the diving bell Diving Bell Onboard Gas: Ten 50 liter 200 bar cylinders provide bell onboard gas. These are divided into three separate banks of three cylinders each for HeO2 diving mix. One cylinder is provided of pure oxygen for metabolic make-up. This system has a safety interlock that prevents valves from being open at the same time. A one liter buffer cylinder coupled to the interlock provides that not more than one liter of oxygen can be added to the bell at a time. The HeO2 diving mix banks are regulated by external TESCOM dome loaded regulators. An external IMF D110 Bell Oxygen Safety Regulator regulates the metabolic oxygen cylinder BELL EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT Emergency equipment includes the ability to jettison the main wire, guide wires and main umbilical all from inside the bell. The bell also carries an emergency battery power supply, 120 ampere hours at 24-volts. The bell ballast weight of 2.72 tonnes has a two-(2) stage release with safety chains. A SONARDYNE type 7192 emergency transponder with a reply frequency of 37.5 khz is mounted on top of the bell. In addition there is another SONARDYNE 7656 mini transponder with a reply frequency of khz which the vessel can interrogate. A SUBCOM 2000B through water communication system provides backup communications between the divers and dive control. DIVEX SSS Bell survival kits are also installed in the bell BELL UMBILICAL The bell is serviced through a 92mm diameter Fibron umbilical with a woven knit outer sheathing for protection. Through external piping and valves the regens can be configured to the various chambers. A Roots style blower provides gas circulation with an operational gas flow of 100 cubic meters per hour. Carbon dioxide removal is carried out via 65 liters of Soda Sorb. Humidity is controlled through a heat exchanger by condensation principal. The cooling medium being supplied by four Kinergetic refrigeration units each capable of being crossed over to the various regens. The regen room is located adjacent to saturation control. 19 11.5 DIVERS GAS RECLAIM / COMPRESSORS The diver s gas re-claim system is a Divex electric driven Gas Mizer system with dual Williams & James 651 electric compressors. This unit is capable of providing up to 90% reclaim for two divers, in addition to providing a backu p source for scrubbing of the bell atmosphere. The operational range of this unit is from 20 to 300msw. The diving system gas reclaim unit is comprised of a gas bag, one Compair 5437, high-pressure gas compressor, with a haskel gas transfer package as a back-up with a Divex Gaspure filtration package and a Divex Helipure Membrane Gas /Separation system. All exhausted gas from the diving system is piped to the gas bag before being re-compressed via the Compair 5437 and then filtered through the Gaspure which is capable of processing 100,000 cubic feet of gas before servicing is required. The Helipure is capable of removing the oxygen from a diving mix and returning pure helium to a storage cylinder. Typical recovery is around 90%. One Bauer K15 high pressure air compressor and a Delmonox filtration unit provide grade D HP air to the diving system 11.6 CONTROL ROOMS Saturation control is located on the tween deck above the main chamber room and adjacent to Chamber 1. The emergency power switching gear for the life support equipment is located in saturation control. Primary and secondary communications to the diving system are installed with helium speech un-scramblers. A Drowcon oxygen monitoring system for the gas storage areas is also located in saturation control. Dive control is located on the bottom deck adjacent to ROV control and the bell moonpool room. The emergency power switching gear for the bell hydraulic handling system is located in dive control. The controls for the bell handling system are also located in dive control AIR DIVING The diving system is also equipped with a surface air diving package, comprised of the following items: Two air driven surface diving stages with clump weights which can also be used for recovery in an Emergency. The air diving station located on the veranda deck. Built in Quincy 390 low pressure diving air compressor with filters and 250 gallon volume tank. Four high pressure banks in built to the ships system, comprised of nine 50 liter 200 bar cylinders each, provide backup diving air. Also on the verandah deck there is a bank of 8 high pressure cylinders at 50ltr, 160Bar, which can also be used for back up air supply. Two Deck Decompression Chambers located on the veranda deck forward of the dive station. 20 12 ROV SYSTEM 12.1 TRITON XL15 SYSTEM System specifics of the Perry Tri-tech standard Triton/Scorpion system: Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) is a Triton XL, single 100 shaft horsepower, with three vertical and four horizontal inner-space thrusters. The systems tether is a 46mm standard power and signal cord. Tether Management System (TMS) is supplied with a standard 5 horsepower heavy lift TMS. The system umbilical is an armored heavy lift Alcatel umbilical. Launch and Recovery System (LARS) the surface winch, including slip ring and J- boxes, are provided as the LARS assembly. The winch is an extended Model 421, Dynacon Model 421 XL. Surface Control System (SCS) the surface control system as provided consists of a pilot s console and two auxiliary consoles providing space for monitors, VCR s, sonar, video switchers, computers and NAV screens. Fiber Optics System-the ROV telemetry, video, and manipulator telemetry re transmitted via fiber optics systems. The sonar video and telemetry is run off Copper standard RS232 cable REMOTELY OPERATED VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS Depth Rating : 2000msw flotation; 2500msw electrical compensation system; 2500msw one-atmosphere cans. 21 12.3 TETHER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Tether stowage : TMS 67 is configured to accommodate 600 feet of usable tether. Hydraulic power : 5hp, 2400 VAC, 3-phase, 60Hz HPU which supplies approximately 3GPM at 2500psi. Optional equipment : TMS is equipped with Tether camera and lights, pressure transducer used for TMS depth ROV WINCH SYSTEM Winch stowage : 2000m of useable 44mm O/D cable on 11 layers. SWL : 9 tonnes at full drum. Line speed : 0-30mpm at outer wrap. 0-20mpm at bare drum Hydraulic power : 1760 rpm, wash down rated electric motor, 460 VAC, 3- phase, 60Hz, full voltage magnetic starter, reduced voltage motor controller. 13 DERRICK SYSTEM 13.1 DERRICK The welded offshore work over derrick is designed in accordance with API specifications 4F and 8C. The derrick clear height is 24.4m, 30.5m from main deck to top of vent pipe, with a 7.92m foot square base and a 2.74m foot square top. The derrick has a tilting top drive with an open centre for lowering tools into wellhead bore. The V door is on the driller s side. The off-draw works side has a large opening to accommodate 5.18m x 5.18m x 5.79m high subsea tree on a retractable substructure. The crown has a split sheave design for open centre heave compensated travelling block (hydraulic supplies). The crown is designed for future installation of a single 100 tonne, 1.27m sheave (50 tonne single line pull) which can be used to lower a subsea tree using a single wire-line. The operating static capacity is 150 tonnes with 8 lines strung to the travelling block ( tonnes). The operating dynamic capacity is 120 tonnes with 8 lines strung to the travelling block SUBSTRUCTURE The substructure 6.48m x 10.67m x 1.52m high has a retractable floor 6.10m x 6.40m used to transport a 5.18m x 5.18m x 5.79m high subsea tree from inside the derrick to outside the derrick. The draw works floor is 4.47m x 6.40m. The substructure and subsea tree is moved by four lift and roll transport modules. The substructure has a 0.43m slot which runs from the centre line of well to the draw works side. The substructure has a static capacity of 150 tonnes and a live load rolling capacity of 50 tonnes PIPE RAMP The pipe has a pipe handling capacity of 1 metric tonne. The ramp utilizes hydraulic cylinders to raise and lower the ramp as well as tilting to present the pipe to the top drive.
