University Center, MI (Note: can use Saginaw in GPS for directions) The facility features an eight-lane, 50-meter pool with a new Daktronics timing system that displays results to a full color message board. During warm-ups, the competition end will be 25 yards and the far end (shallow end) will be 29.7 yards long. The deep end of the pool features a diving area that consists of two 1-meter boards and a 3-meter board. There will be a 5 minute break after the 200 Yard Medley Relay and before the first heat of the 200 Yard Freestyle. Also, there will be a 15 minute break between the last heat of the 50 Yard Freestyle and the first heat of the 100 Yard Butterfly. 3 Entry Procedure All entries are due Monday, March 5 th, by Noon. ALL entries must be in Hy-tek format (meet file available at software available on the Hy-tek website). Please send Hy-tek entries to edgar1@chartermi.net, include an emergency phone number, and contact information. ALL entries should include first and last name, grade (in number format ). Use the school abbreviations supplied on the MHSAA website. YOU MUST INCLUDE DIVERS WHO QUALIFIED AT THE QUALIFICATION MEET IN YOUR HY-TEK TEAM DATABASE. Diving Entries MUST be included with the swim entries. Any diver going to Finals after Regional s that was NOT entered into the Final Swim and Dive meet prior to Regional s WILL be charged a late fee if the omissions is on the team. Please see the following page for a detailed timeline of the entry procedure to be followed by meet management. It is each coach s responsibility to send and confirm entries according to this timeline. SWIMMING ENTRY/CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE a. All entries are due by 12:00 pm the Monday before the state meet b. Coaches are warned to use a non-school to prevent firewall issues, etc. c. Coaches must include 1. Coaches contact info: Phone number and address 2. Appropriate MHSAA school name/abbreviation from MHSAA website (All codes are updated for use with Hy-Tek) 3. Grades for all athletes (Numeric) 4. Appropriate/verifiable seed time d. By 12:00 pm, Tuesday, state meet hosts will back confirmation of receipt of entries and an entry report from what they receive. e. Coaches have until 9:00 pm, Tuesday to reply with any corrections to entry report MAY BE SUBJECT TO $50 LATE FEE at Meet Manager s discretion. f. Psych sheet will be posted on the MHSAA website at 12:00 pm, Wednesday. NO CHANGES TO ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER 12:00 PM, WEDNESDAY. g. Psych sheets will include relay names including alternates. DIVING ENTRY/CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE a. All divers will be automatically entered into the State Meet via Regional Results. b. PLEASE INCLUDE DIVERS QUALIFYING FOR REGIONALS IN YOUR HY-TEK TEAM DATABASE. c. Diving sheets will not be included in the Meet Packet which coaches will receive at check-in Friday. d. An anticipated start time for diving prelims is 3:30pm. Therefore, confirmation and signing of final dive sheets must be made at the Diving Scoring Table, with the Diving Manager prior to 2:30pm on Friday. e. No diving sheets should be faxed to Meet Management prior to the meet. All Diving sheets will be generated on-site via edive. Supplemental Information 3 P age

4 Practice Schedule: Teams will be allowed to use pool facilities on a first come first serve basis on the evening of Thursday, March 8 from 4:30-8:00 p.m. A $10.00 guest fee will be charged to swimmers and a waiver will need to be signed. If swimmer is coming without parent or guardian please have them print and bring a signed waiver form. Coaches and other guests entering the facility will also need to sign a waiver. (See attachments at end of packet.) Relay Cards Due: Deck Passes: 200 MR 45 minutes prior to start 200 FR by the conclusion of diving 400 FR prior to the start of the 200 FR Deck passes will be issued to all qualifying athletes by the host and must be visible at all times. Only two (2) coaches passes per team will be issued (per MHSAA). No manager pass will be issued for teams with less than 6 qualifiers. Extra coaches or manager passes can be purchased, by the head coach only, for $20 per pass at the registration table. Receipts will be provided upon request. Note: Athlete Deck Passes may not be used for access into the Spectator Seating area. T-shirts/Apparel: Sports tape/braces: Warm-up: Coaches on Deck: Awards: Vendors will be located near the pool for the sale of T-shirts and other apparel. NFHS Rule regarding the use of devices that aid the competitor and use of tape are unchanged. Other than tape of the wrist of a diver, the use of tape must be associated with a documented medical condition and requires the signed statement of a health care professional (HCP). If an injury occurs during the meet (i.e. a cut or sprained ankle) and a HCP is not available, the coach can provide the required documentation to the referee. The use of braces is subject to state association authorization as has been the procedure. Swimmers may warm-up/cool-down on the South end of the bulkhead in the lanes provided in the shallow end of the pool. NO DIVING IN THE WARM-UP COOL-DOWN AREA. Deck space is limited. Each team may have no more than 3 total representatives (coaches/managers) on deck. Medals 1 st -16 th place; an awards ceremony will be held after each event on the pool deck with the coach of the winning athlete greeting the medalists. Scoring: Per the NFHS Swim Rule Book (page 54) Admission: Parking: Adults $10.00 each day on a first-come, first serve basis. There will be a limit of 8 tickets sold per person. Advanced sales of Saturday tickets will be on sale immediately following Friday s swimming competition for one hour. Meet programs will be $4.00. Spectators are not allowed on the pool deck. NO PERSONAL FOLDING OR BAG CHAIRS IN THE SPECTATOR SEATING AREA. FOR THE CURTESY OF OTHER SPECTATORS NO SEATS CAN BE RESERVED IN THE BLEACHER AREA. Parking will be available in C Lot, D, Lot, and E lot. C lot will be designated for large passenger vans and buses. $5.00 parking fee Final Results: Final Results will be posted near the pool hallway as soon as possible after each event. Each team will receive a copy via after the meet. Results will also be available live on the Meet Mobile App. Food and Refreshments: A concession stands will be available at the south end of the concourse throughout the meet. Miscellaneous: Lockers are available. Swimmers are responsible for their own belongings. Saginaw Valley State University and MHSAA assume no responsibility for lost articles. 4 P age

5 Coaches please note: Protests: Noisemakers: Shaving: Signs: In accordance with the Federal Video Voyeurism Prevention Act of the use of camera phones or video recording devices in the locker rooms is strictly prohibited. There are no protests of official's decisions in MHSAA Tournament competition. Noisemakers and flash photography are strictly prohibited. No shaving will be permitted on site as per National Federation rules. No signs, posters, banners, etc. may be posted in the lobby or outside the building; these are considered neutral sites. Sign may be posted in the Hamilton Gym/team area. Signs cannot cover emergency lighting or exit signs. Signs also may not obstruct the view of spectators behind the railing. Please remove all of these at the completion of the meet Saturday. Signs posted elsewhere will be removed. No lawn signs. GERSTACKER AQUATIC CENTER IMPORTANT FACILITY NOTES No one will be permitted on deck without the proper deck pass or credentials. 5 P age

6 No shaving will be permitted on site as per National Federation rules. No oil rub downs. Only non oil-based rubdown solutions will be allowed, to protect water quality for the meet. No rub down tables permitted on deck. A rub down area will be provided without tables. No glass containers allowed in the locker rooms, or on the pool deck. No coolers allowed. No food on deck. Saginaw Valley State University is not responsible for lost or stolen property. DECK CHANGING IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Please do not put locks on lockers. The Gerstacker Aquatic Center will have limited locker room space and will not be able to provide individual lockers. The Hamilton Gym will be available for use as a team meeting/relaxation area. Due to limited seating in the pool area, teams are encouraged to use this area when not swimming. Teams are responsible to clean up their area before leaving the facility. Signs cannot cover emergency lighting or exit signs. Signs also may not obstruct the view of spectators behind the railing. Please remove all of these at the completion of the meet Saturday. All participants must have a deck pass to be permitted on deck. No diving in warm up lanes. Diving will only be permitted in specified sprint lanes during the warm up period only. Diving warm ups will be available during specified times. Only divers entered in the meet will be permitted on the boards. Only approved meet personnel are permitted in the pool deck office, questions or concerns should be directed to the meet manager. Noisemakers and flash photography are strictly prohibited. Lost and found will be in the timing booth. All found items will be held for a maximum of 48 hours. Limited room is available for handicapped and elderly in the spectator seating area. NO PERSONAL FOLDING OR BAG CHAIRS IN THE SPECTATOR SEATING AREA. SVSU is a smoke free facility. Tobacco products of any kind are not allowed on SVSU property. 9 I am the adult parent or guardian of, a minor child under the age of eighteen years, and I consent to his/her participation in recreational or other activities at the SVSU Ryder Center and Fitness Center (the Facility ) operated and maintained by Saginaw Valley State University ( SVSU ). I understand and acknowledge that I am fully aware of and assume the risks (including, but not limited to, the risk of serious bodily injury, property loss or damage) of said minor child s participation in recreational activities at the Facility. I recognize my responsibility to ensure that said minor child participates only in those activities for which he/she has the required skills, qualifications, training and physical conditioning. I understand that SVSU shall have no responsibility to pay for medical treatment and related costs if said minor child is injured. I agree that in the event of an emergency medical treatment may be provided, sought, or obtained by Facility staff for my minor child. Knowing the risks described above, I agree, personally and on behalf of the minor child named above, to assume all the risks and responsibilities surrounding my child s use of the Facility. To the fullest extent allowed by law, I hold harmless and agree to indemnify SVSU, its Board of Control, officers, employees and representatives, from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, rights of action or causes of action, by any person or entity, relating to said minor child s participation in recreational or other activities at the Facility. 10 In consideration of obtaining a Community Membership (of any type) at the Saginaw Valley State University Ryder Center and Fitness Center (the Facility ), the undersigned, for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, do hereby fully and forever release and discharge Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), its Board of Control, officers employees, volunteers, and representatives, and the Facility staff, from any and all suits, claims, damages, costs and expenses of every kind, in conjunction with my use of the Facility and equipment thereof. I further agree to indemnify and hold Saginaw Valley State University and the Facility harmless against any and all claims, demands, damages, rights of action or causes of action, of any person or entity, that may arise from injuries or damages sustained by me arising out of my use of the Facility. I agree to use all equipment and activity areas in a manner consistent with their intended design and purpose and to leave them in good condition. I further agree to comply with all rules imposed by SVSU regarding the use of the Facility. I assume full responsibility for, and agree to indemnify SVSU for all damages caused by me through the misuse of any Facility area and/or equipment. As of the date of signing this release and waiver, I have no injury/illness or restrictions that would prevent me from using the Facility. I have either had a physical examination that would allow me to participate in activities at the facility or I have decided to participate without approval of a physician, and I assume all responsibility for my participation and use of the Facility and its equipment. I also understand and agree that SVSU and Facility staff are not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged while in, on, or about the Facility. I understand that all memberships are non-refundable and can be revoked due to inappropriate behavior or abuse of the Facility. I recognize and agree that the Facility may in its sole discretion set the opening and closing times for the Facility or restrict access to portions of the Facility, and that no portion of the membership fee will be refunded, nor will credit be given, when a closing or restricted access occurs. I have read this form and understand it and agree that by signing this Agreement I am giving up certain legal rights. Any questions I have regarding this Agreement have been answered to my satisfaction. I certify that the contact information I have given is complete and current. I agree that in the event of an emergency medical treatment may be provided, sought, or obtained by Facility staff for me. I further agree that I will be responsible for all medical expenses that may be incurred by me in connection with my use of the Facility.
