Swimmers will need to provide their own counters/timers for the Saturday session of 1000 free. Lake Cumberland Swim Team welcomes the assistance of any visiting certified officials. There will be an official s meeting 1 hour prior to the start of each session. Please contact Kimberly Garner by phone or . kgrnr@aol.com or (606) Somerset Family Fitness Center is a multi-purpose recreational facility with an indoor competition pool, indoor therapy pool, gymnasium, aerobics & fitness center. The competition pool is 48 ft. x 75 ft; Six 7 ft. x 25 yard lanes with Competitor nonturbulent lane lines. Electronic timing system by Daktronics. The competition course has not been certified as in accordance with C(4). Portable bleachers will be available for spectators in the competition pool area. Additional bleachers will be brought in for the meet. Bleachers are for spectators only and not for swimmers. Gym floor will be covered and available for use by both swimmers and spectators.

2 Facility Notes: Please convey the following information to your swimmers and parents: 1. Team areas will be assigned in the gym. 2. The temperature in the gym is typically on the cool side. Bring plenty of dry clothes to stay warm. 3. Outside of the pool area and covered gym floor, shoes must be worn and swimsuits must be covered. 4. The facility rules prohibit outside food and drink. Concessions will be provided. Coolers are not allowed. 5. Food is not allowed in the pool area. 6. Chairs, folding or otherwise, may be brought into the facility provided that they are carried directly to and remain on the covered floor in the gym. 7. Signs or banners must be hung by masking tape or string only. 8. Radios, noisemakers, walkie-talkies or anything else that might cause inconvenience to swimmers, coaches, and officials are strictly prohibited. 9. Flash photography is prohibited during the start of heats. 10. All trash must be deposited in appropriate containers. 11. The aerobics & fitness center are off limits. These are restricted areas. 12. No horseplay will be tolerated. Included are shooting baskets or tossing objects while on gym floor. 13. Somerset Family Fitness Center prohibits smoking and alcohol usage on facility property. 14. Lost and found is located at the reception desk. All items turned into lost and found will be held for 30 days. After that all items will be disposed of or given to charity. Somerset Family Fitness Center and Lake Cumberland Swim Team are not responsible for lost or stolen items. 15. Due to limited space, bleachers in the pool area are for parents/spectators only. 16. The use of Audio/Video recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in any restroom, locker room or changing area. Parking: Ample parking will be available at the Somerset Family Fitness center. Parking Fees will not be charged. Admission: $3.00 per person, 12 and under no admission, Meet program $3.00 Format: This is an open timed finals meet. FINA starting procedures will be used. The FINA system, approved by USA Swimming, uses a series of whistles followed by a one whistle announcement for swimmers. The No-Recall Start Rule will also be enforced during this meet. The use of fly-over Starts will be at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Entries Eligibility: All swimmers must be current USA-registered athletes. The age of the swimmer on February 17, 2012 will determine the age group for this competition. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA swimming member/coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race within the water. When unaccompanied by member or coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Entry Limits: Each swimmer may enter a maximum of five individual events per session and two relay events freestyle is its own session and therefore is not part of the five event limit per session. Each swimmer must provide own timer and counter for this event. Make one check payable to: LCST INC Entry Fees: $ 4.25 for each individual event. $ 8.25 for each relay event. Entry fees are non-refundable. No extra heats will be added.

3 Surcharges: $ 2.50 per swimmer KYLSC surcharge $ 3.00 per swimmer facility surcharge The USA Swimming registration number of all entrants must be listed and accompany the entry form. All entries must be in short course yards. Meet referee will accept or reject deck entries. No entrant will be permitted to compete unless the entrant is a member as provided in Article 302 except as provided under article or USA Swimming s open boarder policy included in its registration manual. Time Trials: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the Meet Referee after the afternoon session on Saturday and Sunday at a cost of $10.00 per swim. All swims must be paid for prior to the swim. Deck Entries: Deck entries will be available at the discretion of the Meet Referee at a cost of $6.00 per swim. No additional heats will be added to the meet. All swims must be paid for prior to the swim. Entry Deadline: Entries will be accepted beginning Sunday January Deadline for receipt of entries will be Friday, February 10 at 12:00 p.m. entries to Entry Chair (saeinc@yahoo.com). Files must be loadable into Hy-Tek Meet Manager using a.cl2 file. An entry report will be sent to each team to verify entries. Box 445 Somerset, KY A hard copy of the electronic entries, payment in full of all fees/surcharges and the signed waiver must be received by 8:00pm, Monday, February13, 2012 or the team s entry may be scratched. Check In: Events will be pre-seeded for all events except the 400IM, 500FR, and 1000FR. These events will be deck seeded and can potentially be limited to 4 heats for these events per the discretion of the Meet Referee based on the timeline. Swimmers are required to positive check in at the Admissions Table for events 400 yards and longer, 40 minutes prior to the beginning of the session in which the event will be swum. Relay Cards: Relay cards will be distributed to each team. Each relay team is responsible for delivering their completed relay card to the scorer s table before the event. At this time the relay cards must clearly indicate in the appropriate order, the four swimmers who will compete. Swimmers with a Disability: Entries for swimmers with a disability should be handled in the following manner: (1) enter the swimmer in the Hy-tek database; (2) list in the accompanying the Hy-Tek entry file (or on a separate sheet of paper) the name of the swimmer, the stroke (s), the distance (s), s/he wishes to swim, the entry times, the day/sessions s/he wishes to swim the event (s) and the manner in which s/he prefers to be seeded (with a longer distance or with a different age group); and (3) provide any information applicable about special accommodations needed by the swimmer. The final determination of seeding will be made by the Meet Referee after consultation with swimmer/coach. Unsupervised Swimmers: Coaches who are entering swimmers who will not be at the meet should make arrangements for another coach to supervise their athlete prior to the start of the meet. Swimmers who have not made prior arrangements must contact the Meet Director or the Meet Referee who will assist the swimmer in finding a coach.

4 Clerk of Course: No Clerk of course will be provided. Audio/video monitoring of the meet proceedings will be provided in the gymnasium. Scoring: No scoring will be kept. Warm-up: Teams will be assigned to lanes based on the number of entered swimmers. Smaller teams may need to share lanes. Larger teams should be prepared to divide the warm-up time and space according to need. Team warm-up assignments will be ed. Safety Marshalls: Safety Marshalls will be in place for warm-ups and during the meet to ensure the safety of the swimmers. Duties will include safe deck practices, traffic flow and diving instructions during warm-ups. Miscellaneous Official s Meeting: There will be an official s meeting one hour prior to the beginning of competition. Coaches Meeting: A coaches meeting may be held 15 minutes before the beginning of competition of session number one on Friday evening. Hospitality: There will be a hospitality room open to coaches and officials throughout the meet. Video: The use of Audio/Video recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in any restroom, locker room or changing area.
