Each team will be required to supply timers based on the number of their entries. We will notify you by regarding your team s requirement prior to the meet. The Clear Creek F.A.C. Pool is an 8-lane, 25-yard indoor pool with Competitor non-turbulent lane lines, a Daktronic AutomaticTiming System with an eight (8)-line scoreboard and Hy-Tek Meet Manger Software. The competition course will consist of seven (7) lanes with one lane available for warm-up and cool-down in All sessions. There will be bleacher seating available for parents and spectators, as well as a gym for swimmers/spectators to camp-out in. There will be multiple televisions in the gym area for athletes to watch the swim meet, while waiting to compete, on a live broadcast from the pool area. TVs are for meet purposes only. Each team is asked to respectfully monitor their area and keep it clean. There is no outside food or coolers allowed into the Clear Creek Family Activity Center. -Food & drinks are not allowed in the gym. -Drinks ARE allowed on the pool-deck -Swimmers may eat in the concession area, between the pool and the gym. -No glass is allowed on the pool-deck. -Swimmers are not allowed in the weight-room or the running track. -There is no smoking or alcoholic beverages allowed in the Clear Creek F A C.

2 Format: This will be a timed finals meet for 6 & Under, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, (13-14) and 15 & Older swimmers. Rules: The meet will be conducted in accordance with the current USA Swimming codes. Age of swimmer on February 26, 2010 will determine their age group for this meet. Swimmers must be USA registered athletes. Entries: ALL ENTRY TIMES MUST BE IN SHORT COURSE YARDS. Entries must be submitted electronically (Hy-Tek or SDIF). Handwritten, telephone or fax entries will not be accepted. If the USS ID for any swimmer is omitted that swimmer s entries will not be accepted. All swimmers registration will be checked against Kentucky Swimming database of registered athletes. Entry Limits: Entry is open to all, current USA Swimming registered athletes and Teams. The meet committee reserves the right to limit the number of entries in 400 IM, and 500 Freestyle events to allow for proper time line management. At the discretion of the Administrative Referee, additional heats in all or one age group may be added to offset a lack of entries in another age group or if time permits. Exact details of limitations will be determined after entries are finalized. These details will be ed to coaches, and will also be available on the Shelby Sharks web site, prior to the meet. Any swimmer limited out will have the entry fee refunded to the team. All swimmers will be limited to entering four (4) Individual events per day. If the entry is for more than four, the entry chair will enter the swimmer in the first four listed for that day. Entry Fees: Surcharges: $4.50 for each individual event $9.00 for each relay event. Deck entries will only be accepted at the discretion of the Meet Referee $9.00 for each deck entered individual event and $18.00 for deck entered relays. Deck entry forms will be available to all coaches Entry fees are non-refundable $1.50 per swimmer Kentucky Swimming Surcharge, $2.50 per swimmer Facility fee Total $4.00 per swimmer Entry Acceptance Dates & Deadlines: 1. Electronic entries will accepted through February 17th or until Meet is full. 3 Check-In There will be a Positive Check-in for 500 Freestyle events for Friday night s session, Sheets: and the 400 IM. These events will be deck seeded. All check-ins must be completed by the beginning of warm-up sessions. Using the check-in sheets: Positive check-in: Highlight swimmer s name and events. Scratch Procedure: Scratch swimmer - Clearly draw an X through the swimmer s name. WRITE SCRATCH Scratch swimmer from specific events- Clearly draw an X ONLY through the event description or #. Scratches: Re-Inserting Scratched Swimmers: Relay Cards: Notification to the scorer s table by coaches, of any known scratches throughout the meet are encouraged and very much appreciated. If a swimmer who has been scratched or has not checked in by the deadline, shows up to compete, that swimmer should report to the meet referee with their coach. The meet referee, provided that there is an empty lane in the scratched event(s), may insert the swimmer. There will not be a re-seed or additional heats added. Relay cards will be distributed to each team. Each team is responsible for delivering their completed relay cards to the scorer s table by the conclusion of warm-ups for each session. At this time the relay cards must clearly indicate, in the appropriate order, the four swimmers who will compete. Clerk of The 500 Freestyle and the 400 IM, will be deck seeded. Course: All other events will be pre-seeded. There will be a clerk of course for all 8 & Under individual events*. Those Heats will be lined up and individually processed to the starting blocks. (Each team should have volunteers in charge of gathering their swimmers and delivering them to Clerk of Course.) All other swimmers will be responsible to report to their assigned lane. *8 & Under Relay teams should not report to Clerk of Course, Coaches will be responsible for All Relay teams reporting to the assigned lane. Awards: Admission & Heat Sheets: Coaches Meetings: Officials Meeting: Ribbons will be awarded to all swimmers finishing in the top 16 of individual events. Ribbons will be awarded to swimmers finishing in the top 8 of relays. Some events will be swum together, but awarded separately in age groups. Team Trophies will be awarded to top three scoring teams. Points will be awarded for top 16 in individual events and top 8 in relay events All awards are to be picked up by the conclusion of the meet. No awards will be mailed. General admission for spectators is $3.00 per day. Heat sheets will be available for purchase at the door. There may be a coaches meeting 15 minutes prior to the start of each day s swimming competition. There will be an Officials meeting 45 minutes prior to the start of each session. Please sign in prior to the meeting for assignments. Schedule: Split warm-up sessions are likely for each session Friday Evening: Warm up 4:00 p.m. - Competition Starts 5:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Morning Session (13 & Over) Warm up 6:45 a.m. Competition 8:15 a.m. Saturday and Sunday Mid-day Session (9 & Under) Warm up following morning session but not before 11:00 a.m. Competition not before 12:00p.m. Saturday and Sunday Afternoon Session (10-12yr old) Warm up following mid-day session but not before 2:00 p.m. Competition not before 3:00 p.m.

7 Clear Creek Family Activities Center (502) Directions to Clear Creek Family Activity Center From East (Lexington) Take I-64 to Shelbyville, Exit 35. Take right off exit ramp heading towards Shelbyville. At traffic light (McDonalds on left) turn left onto Washington St. Follow to second light (7th street). Turn right onto 7th St. At 3 way stop, go straight. Road will lead you to the main entrance of Clear Creek Park. Pool is located on the left, inside the Family Activity Center. From West (Louisville) Take I-64 to Shelbyville Exit 32 B. Bear right off of exit ramp. Follow to third light. Bear right onto Shelbyville Rd. (Main St., US 60). Follow Shelbyville Rd. till 7th Street. (7th St. will be your 6th traffic light). Take a left onto 7th. Go straight through light (Crosses Washington Ave.). Follow to 3 way stop. Go straight. Road will lead to main entrance of Clear Creek Park. Pool is located on the left, inside the Family Activity Center.
