TST Quick ction Couplings meet with the demands of ISO 6150 and ISO 4414 and have been awarded a type examination certificate from the Swiss ccident Insurance Institute SUV. Where there is any doubt, trials must be carried out. Seals The following quality seals are available for TST couplings. Various seals can be used depending upon the throughput media. ll details are not binding. Before use, please contact TST for information about the concentration, mixture or temperature of media. If there is any doubt, trials should be carried out. ll legislation relating to foodstuffs must be observed. Type N Nitrile elastomer (NBR) Good ageing resistance, high mechanical strength, resistant to oil and petrol. Poor resistance against ozone. Temperature from -20ºC to +100ºC. Selection and Handling Incorrect handling or the wrong choice of Quick ction Couplings or accessories can! result in damage to property and/or personal injury. The maximum operating pressure for each model as specified by the manufacturer must not be exceeded. The throughput medium is a critical factor in the choice of seal and coupling material. External mechanical impact and/or vibration will have an adverse effect on the durability of couplings and accessories and should therefore be avoided or, where this is not possible, limited. TST recommends that couplings and accessories should be checked periodically for excessive wear and leaks. TST Customer Services epartment will be happy to give you further details about the use of TST couplings. For more detailed information, please follow the operating instructions. Type V Fluorine elastomer (FPM) Very good resistance at high temperatures (except for hot water and steam). Good resistance to many chemicals, ozone, weather. Limited for low temperature range. Temperature from -15ºC to +200ºC. Type P Ethylene-propylene elastomer (EP M) Very good resistance against hot water and steam, resistant to ageing and weather, not resistant to mineral oils and grease. Temperature from -40ºC to +150ºC. Type K Perfluoride elastomer (FFKM) Chemically resistant against nearly all acids and alkalis, high resistance to temperatures, low coefficient of friction. Temperature from -20 C up to +290 C. (Only available on request) ttention When using a coupling with a plastic release ring the resistance to temperature is limited to a maximum of 120 C. Note about Safety ISO recommends that a hose of at least 300 mm in length should be used between the coupling and a vibrating tool.
