4 Our Experience Our Experience While our modern state of the art training faciltiies place us amongst the world s premier maritime, offshore and oil and gas training providers, it is our experience which really sets us apart. Founded in 1986, Clyde Marine Training has grown to be the largest mariitme training provider in the UK recruiting approximately 50% of the annual Trainee Officer intake for the Briitsh Navy. Equipped with the knowledge, experience and assets of Clyde Marine Training, Clyde Training Solutions marks a new chapter in the history of the Clyde Group and a significant leap forward for maritime, offshore and oil and gas training in central and southern Scotland. Remote Course Delivery It is not always possible for Crew to comply with new regulation change and conveniently attend mandatory training before established deadlines. Upon request we have delivered courses at suitable onshore facilities, for Officers requiring urgent training. The courses have been delivered remotely at international locations including Singapore and Canada. Courses have been delivered with full MCA Approval and Certification. Onboard Training Delivery One of the main benefits of delivering training onboard is that shore based mandatory skills are implemented into challenging and ship specific, training drills onboard the Client s vessel. For this reason we have sent Fire Fighting professionals onto a Client s fleet to observe and coach onboard Fire Fighting drills, delivered by their Officers. The feedback from the owners and officers was very positive and improvements to their internal drills have been considerable. Onboard training delivery is also an opportunity to deliver short, focused training sessions to Crew, in their natural working environment, eliminating the cost and disruption of removing Crew to attend onshore training events. We have scheduled and delivered Managing Difficult Passengers training to the Crew of Passenger vessels, with minimal disruption to the vessel routine and schedule, whilst providing Crew with the essential skills required to maintain a safe and professional service to their customers. New Course Development We have delivered nine new approved Training Course Approvals. However our greatest success comes from creating customised courses to provide our Clients with specific training solutions. One such opportunity came from an Oil Major who was sending Senior Management, Engineers and Auditors to floating installations, when the majority of their work experience was based on fixed offshore installations. Therefore issues such as weather, heading, stability, ballast control were concepts that needed to be developed, to ensure a safe and efficient operations. We developed a series of training modules, using a blend of training media, for a range of professionals, who were experiencing floating installations for the first time.
