Chapter 1 Introduction of A-TONE Chapter 1. Introduction of A-TONE What is A-TONE? A-TONE (I2PL & Toning System) A-TONE is the multi-purpose an advanced I2PL (APL) device for wide range indications as hair removal, pigmented skin, acne, scar and vascular. A-TONE is famous for the excellent treatment efficacy and safety using specific wave light penetrated into the deep skin selectively, PIP system (Pulse in Pulse System), and the independent and effective lamp design. Especially, this equipment can treat the LIGHT PIGMENTS in the deep skin, which the current IPL cannot treat, efficient TONING with the PIP System and hair-removal w/o side effect. Key Features Features The A-TONE IPL & Toning System is not only safe and sound, but also convenient and long-lasting as it is designed according to the international standards of medical equipment. Only basic maintenance, such as cleaning the tip and filters of the handpiece and the device is necessary. - PIP (Pulse In Pulse) - Safety secured by the low voltages. - Perfect square pulse performance - User friendly interface - Instant high peak power The principle of A-TONE treatment A-TONE overcomes the treatment limitation of the current IPL machines by applying with the PIP system (pulse in pulse system) on the technical grounds of perfect square pulse performances with the instant high peak power. This technique makes to deliver the same energy at the relatively short emission time by using of instant high peak power enhancement and PIP system. Page 10 of 40

Chapter 2 Safety & Cautions 6) Restrict the access to the treatment room to the un-authorized person. 7) Cover the windows and other openings in the treatment room to avoid the unintentional emergence of laser/ipl radiation. 8) Direct the activated laser/ipl only onto the spot to be treated. 9) Remove all metallic objects such as watch, ring, necklaces and similar things from the treatment area. 10) Reflecting objects could interrupt the IPL and guide it to another area than the intended treatment one. 11) If you do not use the device, switch it to the STANDBY mode from READY mode. 12) Make sure the operator or assistant find out how to stop the device in case of emergency. 13) Remove the key always from the key switch after having switched off the system and ensure that it is kept at a safe location. 14) Check if the common power source within the OR is an earthed 220VAC before you plug in the power cord. Danger: The light of A-TONE is dangerous, and cannot be seen to the naked eye, so wearing a goggle is necessary. If you sustain a hit to the eye, you may suffer extreme damage or blindness. All personnel involved should wear either a laser/ipl protective goggle that can block the IPL or something of the sort complying with ANSI guidelines of protecting the sides as well. Patients will also be required to wear goggles for their protection. Page 11 of 40

Chapter 2 Safety & Cautions Safety System Info: If you wish to build a remote interlock system, you should contact to us. Safety system of A-TONE 1) This device applies a fuse and overcurrent fuse on both sides of the 250VAC/8A so that it can be protected from overcurrent, leakage and over-voltage. Also, the fuse in the A-TONE's internal module blocks any unintended power. 2) Protection algorithm through the programs of A-TONE - Once the equipment is running, the equipment will also run safety devices to ensure the safety usage by the operators and patients. - The monitoring system is monitoring at any time for all treatment processes to allow the user to be aware of accessible information. - The software installed in A-TONE immediately blocks beam output once any error or warning is issued, and displays it to the operator. - At only READY mode, The IPL is activated when only the operator presses button on the handpiece or step on the foot switch. - There is a remote interlock system which will forbid the running of the equipment if the remote interlock is not plugged into its socket. Page 12 of 40

Chapter 2 Safety & Cautions General Cautions Cautions on the handpiece before treatment Before permitting power inflow of the equipment, you must check that the handpiece (Probe) is clean. After treatment, make sure that the pollutants on the tip are cleaned and should be sterilized with alcohol over 90%. Even if you have protective goggles that can block an IPL on, with the equipment's main power on, you should not look directly into the IPL aperture on the handpiece (Probe). Cautions in moving the equipment within the OR A-TONE is an equipment of approximately 80kgs and is capable of damage when proper protections are not made in moving. This equipment is designed with optimal balance, so it is convenient for moving, but should always be moved with care. If you use the handpiece (Probe) to move the equipment, it could result in great damage for the handpiece (Probe) and the equipment. Also, if it loses balance this way, if could do harm to the person moving it. So it is required to move the equipment using its designated handles. Caution when replacing handpiece (Probe) If you wish to change the guide of the handpiece (Probe) or wish to do something other than treatment, you should place your finger off the switch and always work on the handpiece (Probe) at a perpendicular angle. Page 13 of 40

Chapter 2 Safety & Cautions Electrical Cautions Electrical Cautions 1) A-TONE uses 220VAC, and thus uses high-voltage parts, so removing the cover from the body can cause electrical shock. Also, there can be leftover current in the main body even after the power is off. So, removing the cover without the authorization of AMT Engineering will result in discontinuance of warranty. 2) No liquid should penetrate into the body of A-TONE. This can be a cause for electric shock. 3) Use the main power cord provided by AMT Engineering that is earthed. If the cord has worn out or damaged, do not operate the equipment. 4) Once power is introduced into the main body, you should not wipe the handpiece (Probe), or indulge in any other maintenance activity. Warning: Removing the exterior cover of A-TONE by unauthorized personnel will expose them to risks of laser damage, electrical damage and current. Also, this will result in discontinuance of warranty. Page 14 of 40
