18 18 DURING FEBRUARY HALF-TERM 2017, KENT BASED ALL-GIRLS SCHOOL NEWSTEAD WOOD TRAVELLED WITH EQUITY TO KILLINGTON, EAST COAST USA. HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF A TYPICAL EQUITY SKI ITINERARY. 1day A roaring open fire greets the group at check-in at the Killington Mountain Lodge and to top this off the students are loving the first evening meal of tacos for dinner! 2day The staff at the Snowshed base lodge are waiting for us and within 45 min. all 40 students have boots, skis and helmets and are ready to start their lessons. 3day Killington is experiencing incredible snowfall. After skiing is snow tubing and the students have a great time sliding and racing down the course. 4day Advanced groups have already started black double diamonds and intermediates are learning tree skiing! Afterwards is swimming at the hotel s indoor pool. 5day Eat. Ski. Sleep. Repeat. 6day Another great day of powder. In the evening, the group head to Rutland for an ice-cream social, followed by a quick stop at Walmart to stock up on American goodies. 7day Final day of skiing followed by a presentation from the ski instructors. In the evening students are presented with EDGE awards for life-skills developed on the trip. 8day After checking out of the hotel the group have a shopping stop at a mall in Boston before heading straight to the airport for the journey home. Skiing America was a life-changing experience for these students. It was incredible to see them grow and progress during the week on the slopes each day.
