2 2 Captains Report: The annual Handicap Mixed Doubles final was played on Saturday 10 January 2015 on Court 1. The two teams who had played in the round robin competition in late December 2014 and who had won their way to compete in the final were: Olivia Richmond & Richard Beresford Juliette Richmond & Dave Dewsbury Eventual winners were team Juliette Richmond & Dave Dewsbury with a winning score of 9-6. Judging by the score it was a close game and there was great tennis produced by all players. L-R : Richard, Olivia, Dave and Juliette

6 6 Hens & Bucks celebrations for special couple before their wedding: Beautiful Stephanie with adorable little helper Sofia at her kitchen tea hosted by Paula Edwards. Matt still managed to beat all comers, even in shackles and flippers.

7 7 Birthday celebrations 80 th & 21 st: Margaret Agren s 80 th Birthday - It has come to us as a great surprise to hear that Margaret turned 80 on 11 January 2015, as judging by her young looks and performance on the tennis court, it is fitting a much younger person. What a great example Margaret provides to the rest of us. Obviously, it is due to Margaret s fitness and lifestyle that keeps her so young and agile. On Saturday 10 th, we were treated to a lovely birthday cake, hand delivered by her handsome grandson to the clubhouse, for us all to enjoy for afternoon tea. Congratulations Margaret. Olivia Richmond s 21 st Birthday - Also a milestone at the other end of the age spectrum, Olivia Richmond turned 21 on 8 th January There were celebrations as well at the club on the same afternoon with a delicious chocolate cake (baked by Sue Beresford) for members to enjoy and celebrate with Olivia and her family. Congratulations as well Olivia. Margaret has been a member of OPTC since the 1950 s, won her first tournament in 1958, and has been a staunch member over all the years, we are fortunate indeed to have her as a member. Tennis Etiquette # 18: FIRST SERVE FAULT - If your opponent serves a first-serve fault, don t hit a return back unless the call was so close that you had no option but to hit the ball.

8 8 Tennis Rule # 18: FOOT FAULT During the service motion, the server shall not: a. Change position by walking or running, although slight movements of the feet are permitted; or b. Touch the baseline or the court with either foot; or c. Touch the area outside the imaginary extension of the sideline with either foot; or d. Touch the imaginary extension of the centre mark with either foot. If the server breaks this rule it is a Foot Fault.
