1 Cape Cod Community College Studio Theatre Approved Seating & Stage Configurations Tilden Arts Center, Lower Level West Barnstable, Massachusetts This booklet demonstrates the approved theatre configurations based on a Massachusetts State Building Code review (MSBC 780 CMR 6 th Ed.) and coordination with the State of Massachusetts Department of Public Safety Building Inspector. All productions hosted at the CCCC Studio Theatre must comply with ONE of SIX configurations. The diagrams show the maximum allowable audience seating size and layout. Six configurations are approved, ranging from audience seats for each configuration. No other configurations have been approved by Cape Cod Community College. Proposed Set plans shall be given to Cape Cod Community College Technical Director for approval and compliance with these guidelines prior to construction. CCCC Facilities shall inspect the facility prior to each performance for compliance. Non-complying configurations will not be allowed and may result in the cancellation of a performance or event. In addition to the seating and stage configurations that follow, all egress aisles and exits (noted in the attached diagrams as s) must remain clean, unimpeded and visible at all times. A three foot wide (36 inch) minimum path across the front of the audience seating leading to the exits must be maintained. No one may stand or sit on the stairs or in front of Fire Exits. Fire Doors must remain closed at all times. Push bars on Fire Doors must remain free, clear and uncovered. Do not hang masking or other that obscures the Exit Signs, Fire Alarms, sprinklers or other life safety devices. Illuminated Exit signs may not be blocked, turned off, lamped down or gelled. Pull Stations and Fire Extinguishers must be visible and easily accessible at all time.
