Skier & Officials Lodging Describe overnight lodging available, phone # and proximity of lodging facilities to the site. HQ hotel is TBD but one of many within 25 minute drive of site. Our site is in town, which makes us very near many hotels. 1

2 Describe on-site camping capabilities. On-site camping is available with no hook-ups Describe food, etc. available on site. On-site to be hopefully arranged but not critical because many restaurants are close by. What restaurants are nearby? How far are they? What is the price range? Within 3 minute drive is McDonalds, Perkins, Taco Bell, Sub Way, Lindbergers, The Douches, Times Square Pizza and 8 or so others. Within 25 minute drive is approximately 400 different restaurants. This site is very unique because it is essentially in the city. Describe any nearby attractions for non-skiers in the family. Strong Museum of Play, Lake Ontario beaches, High Falls district, many wineries within 50 miles, Niagara Falls 70 miles away. Additional information (photographs or scale drawings of the lake site are appreciated). Google Earth on 1 skimore Ln and you can zoom right in until you can see the buoys. Yes for 2010 summer Does the site meet USA requirements for 3 event Class E/L/R tournaments? Yes What would it take to upgrade to the required capability? Minimal site prep required. Lake Specifications Size Usable length & width: 2,350 ft end-to-end & wide. The shape of the pond was designed around the slalom, trick, & jump course. Orientation (e.g. north/south or east/west): Southwest to Northeast. Water depths in course & turnarounds: 7 14 ft Typical wind conditions: fully protected by land and trees except for straight head/tail wind. Wind blocking trees or structures: yes all except straight up lake. With strong winds from the SW, the lake is still usually very flat with wind hitting the skier. Towboat handling facilities: Trailer parking capacity (or size of area): 24 boats. Boat ramp/launching description: concrete launch in the middle of the lake. Existing grass & weed conditions & mitigation techniques used: lake is currently clear enough to see bottom at 6 ft down. Grass eating carp have been added several times. Is it a private site with limited access? Yes built in 1999 specifically for this event. The site is also the private home of the Rudy & DiBella families. We are excited to welcome you to our home and look forward to designing an event that will give the skier the very best of conditions. Site Safety Any unusual lake conditions affecting safety, (e.g. shallow water, close shorelines, etc.) None. 2

3 Fueling area & fuel handling procedures: refueling in promo-boat bay. Proximity of hospital or other emergency medical facilities: There is an urgent Care facility one half mile away and several local hospitals within 20 minutes. EMT/ambulance availability: 5 10 minute response time. On-Site Skier Facilities Skier & spectator parking capacity/area & location: On our 70 acre site we will designate ample parking on grass. Restroom facilities & arrangements: port-a-potties at various locations. Skier showers or other washing facilities: N/A Viewing areas & access: viewing and access on the entire south side of lake. Exceptional and unobstructed views from waters edge. Concession stand availability: TBD but not critical with many restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Ski Course Specifics Slalom Type of course anchoring system & water depth. Does or can the existing course meet ELR survey & rule requirements? Cross chains with anchors at ends. The ends are 50 lbs and have rebar pounded 3 ft into the dirt before the lake was filled. Risers off the chain. Yes meets requirements. What is the water depth & variation throughout the course? 5 9 ft deep at typical August water level. Distance from usable skier drop area to course entrance gates? Approximately 700 ft on each end. Skier start dock in relation to course? Near end of lake. Our current starting dock provides the skiers waiting to go an excellent view of the ski course. Closest distance from course to shoreline? 60 ft. Is all ball timing installed? Yes Is the existing end course video system compliant with Rule 15.06(D)(1) as outlined in the official tournament rules governing record capability tournaments? Yes What type of official judges tower configuration will be employed for current E requirements? Gate video and tower per E/L/R requirements. For current R/L requirements? Gate video and tower Will the tower and/or camera locations conform to Rule 15.06(D)(3)? Yes How many regulations slalom ropes will be available? 6 or per recommended by TC Jump Type of course anchoring system & water depth. Does or can the existing course meet E/L/R survey & rule requirements? 6 8 ft deep; concrete pivoting pipes are mounted on bottom of lake and T brackets on ramp attach to the pipes. Meets all requirements. What is the water depth & variation throughout the course? 6 8 ft Closest distance from course to shoreline? 500/600/700 ft buoys off shore, counter cut area about 30 ft off shore, balk area 100+ off shore, down course 100+ off shore. The shape of the lake was designed around this event requirements. Distance from drop area or turnaround to 700 ball? Starting dock is approx 450 ft from 700 ball. Distance from rideout buoys to lake end? Turn island is 75 ft beyond ride-out buoys and end of lake is 160 ft. We will have the left ride-out installed but not the right. Jumps over 150 ft may require the boat to make a right hand turn just after the jump course. We have had jumpers go 180 ft+ and I believe they will like the site. Skier start dock in relation to course? Opposite the landing area. Type of jump and surface? Steel frame & one piece custom fiberglass surface. Is the jump visible to the skier throughout the entire course? Yes What is the distance from the centerline of the jump to the left side shoreline and does this distance vary throughout the landing area? 100 ft & gets larger down coarse. 3

4 Are any of the grid balls in the landing area? Long box LH3 buoy to be pulled down during event or moved. What is the CVJ camera height? Meets E/L/R pixel requirements 30 ft Give a camera mount description: All Aluminum tower with trolley Will the camera remain stationary regardless of the wind? Yes. Does jump meet dimension, surface and construction requirements? Yes; ready to go. The side curtain will be replaced for 2010 fixing the minor variation over the plain of the jump surface. TBD by TC of tournament & Club Judging Facilities Main judges stand - size & description: 20 X 30 enclosed with power & windows just off 2 ball. This is the walk-out basement with 10 ft ceilings, windows and three glass French doors to lake. This area will be for officials only. The screened in porch which is 23 ft off shore at 2 ball, and 12 ft up will be used for the announcer, chief judge, and optional for the event scorer. It is shaded and protected from the wind. Covered & protected? Yes Chief Judge visibility of tournament site: Excellent Scorer facilities: main scorers computer in same; event scoring options depending on weather Announcer facilities: from deck 12 ft up and just off 2 ball. Equipment record/review area: in scorer s area. Slalom Towers provide description, location and arrangement: to meet requirements for E/L/R Trick Towers provide description, location and arrangement: to meet requirements for E/L/R. Jump Towers/Cameras provide description, location and arrangement (i.e. number of grids, number of computers, simultaneous computers or A/B switch: per requirements of E/L/R with sufficient back-ups. We would run a shake-down tournament earlier in summer employing all of the technical aspects. Is there one VCR per grid? 2 of 3 grids for any given jumper. Details to be worked with TC and the club. Communications system used: radios End course video, jump video & trick video available? yes Skier & Officials Lodging Facilities Describe overnight lodging available, capacity. Also describe proximity of lodging facilities to lake site. Hotel TBD but within 30 minute drive. Describe on site camping capabilities: lots of space for camping with no hook-ups. An entire field will be reserved for RV camping and an area for tent camping. Banquet & Summer Meeting Facilities: Is a site available for banquet and summer meeting facilities? yes Location relative to the lake: At the lake or at near-by party house. 4

5 Additional Comments: The lake was designed for 3 event skiing. It is fully protected by the wind and completely private. We have had a prior record capable tournament. The club members are spread out over New York and as such most of the work will fall on the two lake owners, Dean Rudy & Jim DiBella. While the porches and basements of the two homes will be used, the homes themselves will not be available to officials or guests. Pets will be required to be on leashes. Site Familiarization reservations will also be available on-line and we plan on making practice as abundant as possible. The Banquet cost is not included in the registration fee so that skiers who may not be able to stay will not be burdened with that cost. Visit here for pictures: 5

6 EASTERN REGIONAL WATERSKI TOURNAMENT BID Hidden Pass for 2010 This is a formal proposal to host the Eastern Regional Waterski Tournament. All the questions must be answered so that the Eastern Region Council can properly evaluate your bid. In the section at the end you may add any additional information which you feel would be beneficial to your bid. Thank you for applying. The following entry fees exclude the banquet costs: M & W: $100 / $110 / $120 for 1/2/3 events B & G: will have 25% discount and we hope the region will kick in another 25% making it 50% off! There will be a continental breakfast at the hotel or the site and lunch will be provided on-site for invited officials only. WHAT SPECIAL ACTIVITIES ARE PLANNED?
