Saturday night s match will be the second of three meetings between the Revs and Red Bulls this regular season, and the only one at Gillette Stadium the teams played to a 1-1 draw at Giants Stadium on March 28, while the regular-season series will conclude at the same facility on Sept. 18. The Revolution is undefeated against New York in the teams last 11 regular-season meetings (6-0-5) dating back to the end of the 2005 season, while the unbeaten run spans 13 games (7-0-6) including postseason matches New York s last victory in the regularseason series came on Sept. 17, 2005 a 5-4 victory at Giants Stadium. The Revs are in their last 11 home games against the Red Bulls dating back to 2002 New York hasn t won in Foxborough since June 29, 2002 a 2-0 win in the club s firstever visit to Gillette Stadium. New England s home winning percentage of.739 (15-4-4) against the Red Bulls is the club s best home winning percentage against any team it has faced more than five times the Revs are at home against Chivas USA and against Toronto FC. PLAYER NOTES VS. NEW YORK Taylor Twellman is New England s all-time leading scorer against New York with 12 goals, while he s also added five assists in 18 appearances. Steve Ralston is the Revolution s career leader in assists against New York with 20, more than he has recorded against any other team 12 of those assists have come in 22 appearances with the Revolution. Matt Reis is in his Revolution career against the Red Bulls, posting a 1.33 goals against average and five shutouts Reis missed the first meeting of the season on March 28 at Giants Stadium with right knee inflammation. LAST MEETING New England 1, New York 1 March 28, 2009 Giants Stadium (East Rutherford, N.J.) Kenny Mansally scored the game-tying goal in the 90th minute and goalkeeper Brad Knighton made three saves in his MLS debut, as the Revs came from behind to extend their regular-season unbeaten streak against the Red Bulls to 11 games New York opened the scoring in the 35th minute, as former Revolution midfielder Khano Smith s low cross from the left wing was deflected by Jay Heaps into his own goal the Red Bulls maintained their advantage into the game s dying moments, but Mansally converted a pass from Shalrie Joseph with time winding down to secure a point for the Revolution.

4 MISCELLANEOUS TEAM NOTES RED BULL AIR FORCE TO DELIVER GAME BALL ON SUNDAY Two members of the Red Bull Air Force will deliver the game ball to Gillette Stadium before kickoff of the Revolution s match against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, June 7 Luke Aikins and Clint Clawson who have each logged more than 10,000 skydives will parachute directly onto the field at Gillette Stadium to deliver the ball to the match officials the Red Bull Air Force is an invite-only fraternity of canopy pilots, consisting of 12 of the most talented and experienced skydivers, BASE jumpers and paragliders on the planet. REVOLUTION SNAPS SIX-GAME WINLESS STREAK With their 2-1 win over D.C. United last weekend, the Revs snapped a six-game winless streak (0-3-3) that started with a 1-1 draw at D.C. on April 17 the Revolution finished the 2008 season on a similar six-game skid (0-4-2) but haven t gone seven games winless since May 20 June 24, BACK ON TRACK WITH GAMES IN HAND Following the club s 2-1 win over D.C. United last weekend, the Revolution is now (13 pts.) and has climbed back to the.500 mark although the Revs were tied for fifth place in the Eastern Conference with the Columbus Crew (2-2-7, 13 pts.) entering this week s action, they had one game in hand on Columbus, while they had two games in hand on all four teams ahead of them in the standings New England trailed Toronto (4-4-4, 16 pts.), D.C. (3-2-7, 16 pts.) and Kansas City (4-4-4, 16 pts.) by just three points each, while the club was eight points back of conference-leading Chicago (5-1-6, 21 pts.) with victories in their games in hand, the Revs could climb into second place in the East, just two points out of the top spot. CONSECUTIVE HOME GAMES PROVIDE A CHANCE TO REST After snapping their six-game winless skid with a 2-1 win over D.C. United at Gillette Stadium last weekend, the Revs will host their second straight home game on Sunday, June 7, against the New York Red Bulls after playing six of its first nine games on the road, this marks the first time this season that the Revolution plays back-to-back home games while two games may not seem significant on the face of it, the consecutive home dates give the players almost three full weeks (Sunday, May 24 Friday, June 12) at home without having to travel after one game on the road (Kansas City, June 13), the stretch of games at Gillette Stadium will continue through the end of the month, as the Revs will host all three of their SuperLiga group games (June 21, June 24, June 28). HE S BAAAAAAACK: TWELLMAN MAKES TRIUMPHANT RETURN Taylor Twellman made his 2009 season debut in the Revolution s 2-1 win over D.C. United last weekend, marking his first appearance in more than seven months Twellman had been sidelined since the last game of the 2008 regular season (Oct. 25) while suffering from severe whiplash symptoms, stemming from the blow to the head he received from former LA Galaxy goalkeeper Steve Cronin on Aug. 30, 2008 although he wasn t expected to see the field until the second half, circumstances brought Twellman into the match in the 25th minute when Jeff Larentowicz was forced off with an injury New England s all-time leading scorer made an immediate impact upon his entrance, helping set up the game-tying goal in the 55th minute and drawing the penalty which led to the game-winning tally in the 90th minute. TWELLMAN RESUMES QUEST FOR 100 GOALS With his triumphant return to the field last weekend, Taylor Twellman has resumed his quest to become the fifth player in Major League Soccer history and the first player in Revolution history to score 100 regular-season goals Twellman sits just one goal shy of the mark, as he is currently ranked fifth in career MLS goals (99), six behind fourth-place Jeff Cunningham (105), currently of FC Dallas, and 27 shy of D.C. s Jaime Moreno (126), the league s all-time leading goal scorer at 29 years old, Twellman is on pace to become the league s youngest 100-goal scorer and the player to reach that mark in the fewest games. UPON RETURN, TWELLMAN REACHES 15,000-MINUTE MILESTONE With 65 minutes of action in his 2009 season debut last weekend, Taylor Twellman became the fourth player in Revolution history to play 15,000 minutes for the club Twellman has now played 15,002 minutes of regular-season action for the Revs, trailing only Jay Heaps (20, 349), Steve Ralston (16,536) and Shalrie Joseph (15,267) Joseph became the third player in club history to reach the 15,000-minute mark just two weeks prior against Colorado (May 16). REVS UNBEATEN STREAK AGAINST NEW YORK REACHES 11 GAMES Not only did Kenny Mansally s 90th-minute equalizer in the first meeting between New England and New York this season earn the Revs a 1-1 draw (March 28), but it also extended the Revolution s regular-season unbeaten run against the Red Bulls to 11 games New England is now in its last 11 regular-season encounters with New York, which hasn t beaten the Revolution in a league meeting since Sept. 17, 2005 (5-4 win at Giants Stadium) including playoff matches, the Revs are unbeaten in 13 consecutive matches against the Red Bulls, going GILLETTE STADIUM DOESN T SERVE RED BULL... The Red Bulls have been a very welcome guest to Foxborough in recent years, as the Revs are against New York at Gillette Stadium since the facility opened in 2002 in fact, New York hasn t won in Foxborough since June 29, 2002 a 2-0 win in the club s first-ever visit to Gillette Stadium as New England is in its last 11 home games against the Red Bulls including matches at the old Foxboro Stadium, the Revs are at home against New York for a winning percentage of.739, representing the Revolution s best home winning percentage against any team it has played more than five times.... BUT THE REVS DO ENJOY THE TASTE Coincidentally, the Revolution s current 11-game, regular-season unbeaten run against the Red Bulls dates back to the New York club s name change three seasons ago since New York changed its name from the MetroStars to the Red Bulls prior to the 2006 season, New England has not lost to its conference rival the Revs are in regular-season matches against the Red Bulls since the change, while they re in the postseason. REVS AND RED BULLS FIT TO BE TIED AT 1-1 Although New England hasn t lost to New York since 2005, the Revolution also hasn t defeated the Red Bulls since 2007 the last four meetings between the Eastern Conference rivals have ended in draws, including three consecutive 1-1 stalemates dating back to last season the clubs most recently played to a 1-1 draw on March 28 at Giants Stadium, one of four 1-1 draws that the Revolution has already played to this season. REST FOR THE REVS, NOT FOR THE RED BULLS New England enters Sunday night s meeting with New York (June 7) easily the more rested of the two teams, as the Revs will have seven full days to recover ahead of the match while the Red Bulls will have just two... the Revolution last played on May 30 - a home game against D.C. United - while the Red Bulls had to play Thursday night in D.C. (June 4) before traveling to Foxborough to face the Revs just a few days later. PLAYERS GET RARE THURSDAY OFF After originally planning to train five consecutive days ahead of Sunday night s game against the Red Bulls, the Revolution s coaching staff cancelled Thursday s (June 4) training session so as not to overwork the players... the last time the Revolution had a Sunday game (May 3 vs. Houston), the club trained five straight days and was then defeated by the Dynamo, prior to this season, the Revs hadn t trained five straight days ahead of a match since Aug , New England also lost that match, 1-0, to the Chicago Fire. HEAPS SET TO MAKE HIS 300TH APPEARANCE ON SATURDAY NIGHT Having recently become the first player in Revolution history to play 20,000 minutes for the club, defender Jay Heaps is on the brink of another milestone, as he is just one game away from becoming the ninth player in MLS history to make 300 appearances... Heaps enters Sunday night s match against New York on 299 appearances, making him ninth all-time on the career list... an 11-year MLS veteran, Heaps is New England s all-time leader in games played (228), games started (223) and minutes played (20,349)... Heaps is already fourth on MLS all-time list for minutes played (26,093) and is on pace to climb into third place on June 13 against the Kansas City Wizards. THE 900 CLUB Exactly one-third of the way into the 2009 season, three members of the Revolution have played every minute of every game... Jay Heaps, Shalrie Joseph and Darrius Barnes have played all 900 minutes of New England s first 10 games... last year, Heaps was the only Revs player to play every minute of all 30 games, marking the first time in his career that he accomplished the feat. WHETHER PLAYING AS A FORWARD OR MIDFIELDER... After starting at forward for the fourth straight game last weekend against D.C. United (May 30), Shalrie Joseph moved back into his more preferred central midfield role when Taylor Twellman entered the match in the 25th minute... with Twellman s return from injury, not only is the team boosted by the presence of the club s all-time leading goal-scorer, but Joseph is afforded the chance to slot back into the midfield, where he has been one of the league s best players in recent years.... JOSEPH JUST KEEPS SCORING Shalrie Joseph scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 55th minute of the 2-1 win over D.C. United (May 30) last weekend, matching the second-best tally of his career just 10 games into the season... Joseph also scored four goals in 2007, while he notched a career-high six goals in Joseph now has 20 career goals in his six-plus years with the Revolution, good enough for eighth all-time in club history.

5 THE RETURN OF KING KHANO With the Red Bulls in town on Sunday night, former Revolution midfielder Khano Smith could make his first appearance at Gillette Stadium since leaving New England this past offseason... Smith was selected in the 2008 MLS Expansion Draft by Seattle Sounders FC, but was then traded to New York before making an appearance for the club... the Bermuda National Team midfielder made his first career appearance against the Revolution on March 28 at Giants Stadium, creating New York s goal with a low cross that Jay Heaps deflected into his own net. MANSALLY PUSHES WIDE After making the first 25 appearances of his MLS career as a forward, Kenny Mansally played on the left side of midfield for the second half of the Revolution s 2-1 win over D.C. United (May 30) last weekend... the switch seemed to suit Mansally, who assisted on Shalrie Joseph s 55th-minute goal just 10 minutes after entering the match... the assist was just the second of Mansally s career and his first since April 9, the 20-year-old Gambian was originally discovered by the Revolution s coaching staff while playing left midfield for his country in the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup. ONE, TWO, THREE PENALTIES... The Revolution was awarded its third penalty kick of the season in last weekend s match against D.C. United (May 30), making New England one of just three teams in the league to have earned three penalty kicks entering this week s action... both Chicago and Los Angeles have also earned three spot kicks, but both clubs have played more games than the Revolution... all three of New England s penalty kicks have occurred at Gillette Stadium... the Revs were awarded just two penalty kicks in the entire 2008 season... the most penalty kicks ever awarded to the Revolution in one season is nine (2001).... ALL CONVERTED BY RALSTON Since taking over as the team s primary penalty kick taker midway through last season, Steve Ralston has been nothing short of perfect... the club captain has converted four consecutive attempts from the spot - including all three of New England s PKs this season - and is now the Revolution s all-time leader with eight successful penalty kicks... Ralston uses a brief stutter step on his penalty attempts, waiting to see which way the goalkeeper dives before calmly putting the ball in the other side of the net. RALSTON MAKES IT COUNT As has been the case throughout his career, Steve Ralston has made it count when getting on the scoresheet this season... of his three goals, two have been game-winners, while the other was a game-tying strike... meanwhile, both of his assists have been on goals that either gave the Revolution the lead or tied the game... Ralston is tied for eighth on Major League Soccer s all-time list for game-winning goals (19), while he tops the chart for gamewinning assists (38). REIS STILL JUST ONE CLEAN SHEET SHY OF 50 SHUTOUTS Goalkeeper Matt Reis earned his 49th career shutout in the season-opening, 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes (March 21), and needs just one more clean sheet to become the seventh goalkeeper in MLS history to record 50 shutouts... Reis quest to reach the half-century mark was put on hold from March 28 to April 25, as the veteran goalkeeper missed four games with inflammation in his right knee, while he also missed an additional game against Colorado (May 16) with a concussion... however, he has since returned the Revolution s starting lineup and his 50th shutout could be on the horizon. REVS PRONE TO DRAMATIC FINISHES Unlike last year, the Revolution has shown a penchant for the dramatic this season, as the club has already scored two game-winning goals after the 75th minute... last year, the Revs notched only one game-winning goal so late in a match - on May 24 when Kheli Dube scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Columbus in the 89th minute... this season, Steve Ralston has already bagged two late game-winners (4/4 vs. DAL, 80 ; 5/30 vs. DC, 90 )... the Revolution has also already scored one game-tying goal after the 75th minute this season, while they achieved that feat just twice last season. COMEBACK KIDS The Revolution has come from behind to earn points five times in the first 10 games of the season... the Revs are when conceding the first goal this season, as opposed to (2008), (2007) and (2006) in recent years... while Steve Nicol and his players won t be pleased that they ve allowed their opponents to score first in seven of their 10 games, the fact that they ve come from behind to earn points in five of those matches displays a fighting spirit that is crucial when battling for points and playoff position later in the season. BEHIND THE EIGHT-BALL The Revolution will be looking for a better start to Sunday night s match against the Red Bulls, as the club has allowed the first goal in all four of its home games this season... despite that statistic, the Revs are at home... overall, New England is when conceding the first goal this season. KEEP IT CLOSE As part of the hallmark of head coach Steve Nicol s coaching style, the Revs have been one of the best teams in Major League Soccer in tightly contested games this season... New England has won all three of its games which have been decided by a single goal, while they ve drawn another four matches, including three in hostile road environments... the Revs are one of only two teams in the league to be perfect in one-goal games, along with the Chicago Fire (3-0-0). USING THEIR HEADS Of the Revolution s seven goals scored from the run of play this season, four have been scored via header... the Revs have scored 10 goals in total, but three have come from the penalty spot... Shalrie Joseph has scored three of the Revolution s four headed goals, while Kenny Mansally notched the other.
