Describe the employment unit s efforts to encourage entrepreneurs to conduct business in a nondiscriminatory manner with all parts of its operation and provide an analysis of the results of those efforts. Time Warner Cable has a strong commitment to working with minority and female entrepreneurs. Our minority vendor purchasing philosophy commits us to long term relationships with minority and female run businesses. Time Warner Cable s minority purchasing policy has been established as a coordinated corporate plan to assist in the economic development of minority-owned businesses. For the purpose of the program, a minority-owned business enterprise is defined as a business that is at least 51% minority-owned. The objective of the program is to provide the opportunity for minority-owned business enterprises to establish a mutually profitable business relationship with Time Warner Cable. The minority vendor program actively seeks minority bids for goods and services, provides assistance for the minority vendor in such areas as specifications, clarification, requirements, standards, and payment terms and conditions, and works with minority vendors to education them about our quality and service requirements. All vendors are asked to identify their ownership as minority and/or female or otherwise in order for us to track and monitor our expenditures. A directory of local vendors is distributed to all personnel involved with using vendors in order for these employees to easily identify and obtain bids from minority and/or female run businesses. A companywide website ( has been established to provide minority and female entrepreneurial information. Supplier Diversity reports are 1

7 created each quarter and reviewed with management to evaluate the effectiveness of our minority and female vendor relationships. 7. Describe the responsibility of each level of the employment unit s management with respect to application and enforcement of it EEO policy and explain the procedure for review and control of managerial and supervisory performance. Employees at all levels are responsible for the implementation and continuing review of TWC s EEO policy. Ultimate responsibility for implementation and review of TWC s EEO policy lies with the Corporate Employee Relations and Regulatory Compliance department. The corporate office provides overall policies, conducts statistical reviews of the workforce, finalizes and submits required government EEO reports, and provides staff assistance and training. This unit s human resources leader is charged with communicating the EEO policy to all units and developing procedures for implementation of this policy at the local level. The Corporate Employee Relations and Regulatory Compliance department is responsible for auditing employment practices at each unit. Results of the audit are reviewed with local and regional HR and Operations leaders. The unit is given 90 days to correct any issues noted during the audit.

8 2012 Recruitment Initiatives CFR (b) (2) FCC Unit: 1203 Provision of training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equalemployment opportunity and preventing discrimination. Employees at this Time Warner Cable FCC unit participated in the Valuing Employees training. This class is a one day highly interactive training for people leaders designed to communicate how employment law, the TWC Standards of Business Conduct and other TWC policies directly impact the company s overall business success. The goal of this training is to improve each leader s ability to foster teamwork and create a productive work environment in an equal employment opportunity environment. This training is overseen by the Corporate Employee Relations department and conducted by a member of the local HR team. A total of 5 employees attended this training during the reporting period including 3 supervisors and 2 trainers. Establishment of training programs designed to enable unit personnel to acquire skills to qualify them for higher-level positions. Foundations of Excellence is a Time Warner Cable corporate-wide initiative that focuses on developing the leadership skills of front-line supervisors. It is a program that was established to help leaders in their current roles as well as prepare them for higher levels of management. Supervisors enrolled in this development program are required to take a combination of instructor-led and elearning courses over the period of one year. The exact number of classes participants need to take depends on the department to which the supervisors belong (e.g., call center, technical). Some courses that all supervisors are required to take include: Diversity and Inclusion for Leaders, Coaching for Success & Improvement and Behavioral Interviewing. Overseeing this program in the West Region of Time Warner Cable is the Vice President of Learning, Development & Inclusion, and his staff of 6 Directors. The managers and directors of supervisors enrolled in this initiative also play a critical role in the ongoing development of their employees as they navigate through the year-long curriculum. They do this by becoming familiar with the contents of the entire program so they can support their front-line supervisors with coaching and reinforcement. During the current reporting period, a total of 4 supervisors in this FCC Unit completed at least one course within this program.

9 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Code: CCS700 Job Grade: 00L Posting Title: Manager, Area Retail Location: Harlingen, TX POSITION SUMMARY: This position manages Time Warner Cable Retail Store locations in Harlingen, TX. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervision and Management over Harlingen locations Ensure cash management and process adherence Ensure equipment management and inventory process adherence Develop and maintain a layered Retail environment where the primary focus is on sales and revenue and includes payment and billing collection vs. a payment/billing center that integrate sales as a secondary focus. Staff development and motivation. Identify department and staff opportunities. Ensure a positive customer experience via staff, Supervisors and Manager Effective customer and staff conflict resolution Effective application of TWC standards of business and operational conduct Ensure facility and store presentation is aligned with TWC branding standards Manage Corporate, Regional and Division performance goals Designate localized performance goals based on location production Manage creative sales strategies to motivate team and generate revenue Provide regular analysis of sales and staffing trends. Use results to maximize resources. Introduce innovative ways to further maximize resources and department productivity Regular evaluation of staff and department performance to established future action plans Supply and distribution of marketing, incentive and branding materials Work with other departments on event coordination (vendors, Marketing, and Public Affairs departments. JOB REQUIREMENTS: H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of experience in retail management and customer service (College degree preferred).
