If a decision is made to cancel games, the MHL will forward notification through the following means: MHL Inclement Weather Policy Notification of Area Association Presidents Posting on the MHL website January 2015 On weekdays, any cancellation of games will be posted on the MHL website the moment the decision to cancel games is made. Parents and team officials are requested NOT to call the MHL office or City Facilities about the potential cancellation of games. The official notification system is via the MHL website and . In the absence of a cancellation notice being posted on the MHL website by 3:00pm on weekdays or 2 hours before the scheduled game on weekends parents, players and teams should assume that the League games will be played as scheduled. Most importantly, the MHL encourages parents to leave enough time to arrive safely and drive according to the weather conditions.

If your team has a story of interest involving a player, volunteer, team event, (such as a charitable fundraiser or a community event involving the team), the MHL would love to hear about it and possibly showcase it in an upcoming MHL E-Newsletter. As well, if your team wins a tournament, please let us know. Simply provide the team name, number, and tournament won! The MHL E-Newsletters are published monthly from August to May, and are posted on the MHL website. These Newsletters are also sent via to the MHL membership. 5 Page 5 January, 2015 Reliance Home Comfort MHL Fair Play Challenge The Mississauga Hockey League has again partnered with Reliance Home Comfort for the hockey season. Through this new partnership the MHL and Reliance have established the Reliance Home Comfort MHL Fair Play Challenge, whereby teams at all age and skill levels will be rewarded for "fair play" within regular season league play. The idea is simple...to keep players out of the penalty box and on the ice.

6 Page 6 January, 2015 Mississauga Minor Hockey Associations Celebrate Mayor Hazel McCallion Mississauga Hockey League s Tournament Challenge Divisions include Minor Atom and Atom both HL and Select along with Minor Peewee and Peewee Select (Red). The MHL is hosting a 48 team tournament that you won t want to miss. Prizes galore! This tournament is held at the Hershey Centre April 10-12, Great way to end your season! 7 Page 7 January, 2015 Clarkson Atom Red & Minor Atom A Teams Give Back Continuing an annual team tradition of giving back, Carter Willan on behalf of the Clarkson Atom Red team presents Chippewa Chief Jake Linkliter the used equipment collected by his team and the Clarkson Minor Atom A team for the children of Nawash. Including a donation of over one hundred jerseys (most brand new) from the Clarkson Association, we sent 15 helmets 25 pairs of skates 29 shoulder pads 22 pairs of shin pads 4 sticks 8 pairs of gloves 61 pairs of hockey socks 26 elbow pads 2 pairs of Goalie pads 31 hockey pants Ten bags in all!
