1 Annual Dinner & Prize Presentation No sooner is racing over with and the dinner & prize presentation is upon us. The weekend of Saturday 21 st October saw the Classic s 42 nd Annual Banquet, held at The Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth. Our special guests included Mike and Jade Sheppard-Palomares representing Countrywide Feeds who continuously sponsor the corn for all the Classic races. On behalf of the Committee I would like to thank you for your support of the Classic and I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Some of our sponsors who were unable to be with us but we would like to offer our gratitude and thanks are Steve and Nettie Richards from the British Homing World, Brian and Viv Wall from GEM Supplements and Keith Thomas who keeps a watchful eye over the website. Lastly, we would like to thank Tony Cowan our auctioneer and entertainer and wife Maria, who made a special trip down to Bournemouth just to auction off the birds in our mini auction. Tony was unable to make it for the early part of the dinner as Southampton were playing home in an evening kick off so he set off after the match. Tony does a grand job for the Classic and his contribution helps keep the Classic on a good financial footing. Our usual Master of Ceremonies Vice President Mr Roy Christopher has now hung up his microphone and retired from the job after many years being in charge on the night. We now have a slightly younger model who has stepped in to Roy s shoes Mr Robbie Hooper who did a grand job on his debut. Once the presentation had taken place it was time for Anner Smith to hand over the chain of office to the next President Elect Clive Merrills who will serve the Classic as your President for 3 years. Thank you to Anner for the contribution he has made over the last 6 years as Chairman and President. 6 money raised was 810. Thank you to you all. He then Moved straight into the raffle, where ticket sells were organised by Anne Hooper and her daughter Jane who did a wonderful job making a total of 352.
