2 IN MEMORIAM Huntsman Cancer Institute began in 1993 with a dream and an empty hillside a dream to build a cancer center unlike any other. More than 20 years later, Huntsman Cancer Institute is a world leader in cancer genetics and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Mountain West. Mr. Huntsman passed away at home on February 2, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Tributes flowed in from around the world. To honor his legacy, Huntsman Cancer Foundation is renaming our golf events the Jon M. Huntsman Golf Series, which will include the Huntsman Golf Classic and the Huntsman Chairman s Circle. 5 ABOUT HUNTSMAN CANCER Institute Huntsman cancer institute s mission To understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care. 5 why support huntsman cancer instutute?
