Grand Island Senior High had 2,263 students for the school year: seniors, 503; juniors, 536; sophomores, 607; freshmen, 581. Let's not forget our amazing azing staff of one big happy family. As individuals, some will be find their exits on new roads with new people, in new places, while some will wonder if they will ever see their friends from high school again. Many will question if they missed their turn on the way to wherever ever they were going. They will miss home. Some will find their place in the world, while many others will question if they are on the right path or making the right decisions. Some will want to graduate and leave to start a new journey early. At the end of this year, the oldest family members, ers, the seniors, left and started a new journey. They found their place in this big world. Some were excited to start fresh, while others were scared to move on. Most were sad to leave Grand Island Senior High behind. Juniors found out what they wanted to do in the near future. They realized that their high school career was almost over. Sophomores moved up in the ranking. They finally found their place in high school. Freshman saw that high school was not as big and scary as they first thought. They were surprised and relieved after finishing the first year. Many could not wait to get out of high school, but little do they know that time goes so fast and you don't ever get that moment back. Some of them will wish that they took more chances and got out of their comfort zone. Some of them will wish they went to more high school games. Many of them will wish that they talked to new people, while others will know that they did all that they could do and now they are ready for a new chapter of their life. In Grand Island Senior High no one was left behind. We worked together and supported each other no matter what. We had every club you could think of and if we didn't have it, then you could easily start it yourself. This year, the "Little Mermaid" made history as the first production at a high school. Multiple students qualified for state competitions. The football team was ranked third in the state. The band received superior in division one, and there are many more. We had such a unique and progressive year, and even better, er, we did it together. Grand Island Senior High received new family members from middle schools around Grand Island. Staff missed their oldest students and enjoyed meeting the new ones. Every student that walked in the front door, had a place in this school. Every student that walked in this school created the greatest memories of their lives. Every student will graduate with their head held high. Every student will soon have to say goodbye. Teams won and lost, and we all had a footloose and fancy free time at homecoming. We looked back on all the memories we made that we will continue to remember for many years to come. We lost 38 members of the senior class at midterm as they said goodbye to high school and hello to the real world. As for the rest of the 465 senior class members, they spent the spring applying for scholarships and then enjoyed prom to close out their senior year. Juniors got the pleasure of experiencing NeSA testing this year. They also had the chance to feel what it's like being an upperclassman. The sophmores were coasting in the phase between being excited about high school and the phase of being ready to get done with school. The freshman were still high on the excitement of being in high school and now having a little more responsibility under their belt. Now that we were a year older and wiser, we could look to our futures. We were all traveling on the same road called high school ol and was time for some to exit and take another road to their future. As for the others they continued to p travel this road until it will be they their turn to merge onto the exit ramp.
