1 THE SERIES: Hillsboro and Eugene meet in their third of four three-game series this year. It is a crucial series, particularly for Eugene, as they try to win the second half in hopes of meeting the Hops in the South Division playoff series beginning Mon. 9/7. LOW-HITTERS: Tuesday, the Hops two-hit Tri- City in a 3-0 win, the 9th time in the franchise s first 221 games --- and the fourth time in the first 65 games in that the Hops held an opponent to two hits or fewer, including the no-hitter by Kyle Schepel ( SKAY-pul ) in Boise on 8/31/13. He had not allowed a run - -- earned or otherwise --- at home all season long. His streak ended at 35 scoreless innings at home. POWER SURGE: Trevor Mitsui hit just 3 HR in his first 48 games. Since then, he has 7 HR (and 18 RBIs) in his last 12g. He hit HR in 5 str. games 8/15-8/19 (6 HR total). What s the difference?
