1 Appendix I Street Cro-Section Undertanding Rolyn Street Cro-Section Tenty-five treet cro-ection ere created for the Rolyn Multimodal Tranportation Study. In ome cae, alternative cro-ection have been prepared for a particular treet. The location of each treet cro-ection can be found on the adjacent map. ach propoed treet cro-ection i made up of a combination of the folloing element: Width of idealk Street tree Location of parking lane / Width of parking lane Location of bike lane / Width of bike lane umber and direction of travel lane Width of travel lane Location of median / Width of median Total idth beteen back-of-idealk and back-of-idealk Total treet idth (curb-to-curb) The folloing guideline ere ued to determine the appropriate idth of variou tranportation facilitie: Minimum 6-feet ide idealk clear-idth. Mot hould be 8- to 12-feet ide, 5 to 6-feet ide bicycle lane 10 to 11-feet ide travel lane. Curb lane ith bu or ignificant volume of truck traffic hould generally be 11-feet ide (12.5 feet if you include curb and gutter) 7-to 8-feet ide parallel parking lane Median pedetrian refuge (minimum ix-feet in idth) Pleae note that a majority of the propoed treet cro-ection ere deigned to ork ithin exiting right-of-ay contraint (back-of-idealk to back-of-idealk). Adjutment to total idth of the right-of-ay (backof-idealk to back-of-idealk) ere generally only made here redevelopment of adjacent development a conidered likely to occur. Some cro-ection may require ignificant land redevelopment or other phyical change in order to permit full implementation. Therefore it i likely that improvement ould need to be made on ome treet in an incremental manner.
